The reality is if some UMN donor flipped them 100M for a new arena (that served beer also!) and the new REA was but a pipe dream for UND we would probably saying the same things they are now. Who knows.

Here is some discussion....Why are the POI people dredging up Ralph E and his generous dontation to Sioux hockey - saying he threw a tantrum and threatened to pull out if he didn't get his wishes? Am I living in a bubble or did T Denny just pull his dough out of the proposed football stadium deal because he didn't get his way (his name on the structure). Christ people...If you are going to bitch about someone else's good fortune check the situation in the backyard before ranting. I'm really holding back here in not bringing back my POI login. Yeah he did threaten to pull out. And you know what? I would have done the exact same thing. When you donate 100M you damn well better get things done the way you want them - period. If anyone is interested I just called the Gopher ticket office and picked up a couple of rush tickets for this weekend. They are still available for both nights. Cost was $25/ea plus a $3 "handling fee".

By the way...not to get off the topic here...but I need something cleared up. What is the deal with midwesterners not understanding the difference between loan and borrow?? You loan something TO another person and you BORROW something FROM another person.... If I had a nickel for everytime I heard a Minnesotan, Wisconsinite, or North Dakotan say BORROW me that....I would be a rich man.

Last time I went to the old REA I was a student and the tickets were free with a student ID - man was that ever sweet.

I have tickets but a couple of friends don't. How does the rush tickets deal work? They must be SRO? I'm guessing showing up early would be beneficial? Just curious how the process works if anyone knows.

The only knock on Blais was that his tie selection was atrocious prior to this season. Looks like he has had some help dressing himself as of late. The same could be said about Lucia's hair though...Christ what took so long for that guy to figure out he had a mushroom top going.

The nice thing is that I highly doubt Mr. Woog or his sideshow will play a prominant role in whichever team comes out victorious this weekend - it just might make it tough to keep the sound turned up on the television. Mute the TV and pipe in TH!

Just check out the poll that was created on this board on that very topic. I do love this post. I guess that is why a ticket for this weekend (if you can come by one) is fetching $160 dollars and by the same token you can buy Badger tickets for that series at face value from numerous sources. I guess he did say "historical".....not recent. Nonetheless I think history is changing as it should.

I can compare "most" of them to packer fans. When things are going good they are all over talking trash that rarely make any sense. To those UND fans, do you remember last year? As much as a I hate to say it - no matter which one of these two teams is on top of the heap each year the series is always good and most important will be a blast to watch. One can only hope for more than 2 points out of the weekend - lets hope that turns into reality. Sure would be nice to post a few choice messages on Sunday morning.

I didn't major in English but....Defending implies winning the title the last time it was contested - which in this case was LAST year. Now the present tense would be UND CURRENTLY ranked #1 in the nation. Not last year not 23 years ago - right now.
