True...I watched both of those CC/UMN games and Briggs looked REALLY sharp - albeit their D played well also.

Unfortunately that perceived arrogance has turned into a hypocritical situation now with regards to their fan's previous feelings about out of state players...Back to my point about the Sioux's arena. Gopher fans are critical of it now - but you watch what would happen if T Denny were to ever flip them 75M for a new building.

Gentlemen - My watch shows 30 hours until faceoff. Let the countdown begin. Yeah no doubt this is big. Kare11 in the cities had a little clip during last night's newscast about the series. The video was of the Sioux scoring in November from all angles on Minnesota and how big a series this is. I don't recall a local news channel here carrying (on a wednesday evening mind you) a bit about the upcoming Gopher series that weekend.

I was sitting 5 rows up behind AH in net and saw that - couldn't believe it.

EVERYTHING went the Gopher's way in 2002...sure they had a great team but also seemed to get critical calls (and non calls) and played the entire playoffs and Frozen Four at HOME! Last years victory was impressive however. Playing on the road and against two teams that I thought they couldn't get by for the title. Kudos on the 2003 crown. Sorry I would rather see Alabama-Hunstville run off a string of 10 straight than see Minnesota win another one.

This isn't a PC position obviously - but I would rather see ANY team from out east, west, south or central win the crown rather than the Gophers. The wider the Sioux make that gap with the Goofs the better IMO.

He might have been the first in an overtime for a national championship in which the teams are tied and the puck is moving up ice for what was the eventual game winning goal. Didn't you see the game? The Raiders comment was tongue in cheek. Personally I think they s&ck but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Can anyone dig up Brandt's record against UMN? I thought I recall reading somewhere it has been excellent?

We might not get to see that - reading Brandt will be between the pipes at least Friday if not Saturday also. Brandt has done well against Minnesota - at least in the games I have been to.

The only memory I have of Hauser is that slash (which wasn't called mind you) he put on the Maine defenseman during the 2002 national championship game at the X.

Perhaps that may work! I will definitely be at Stubs...along with a bunch coming down on a bus trip from Grand Forks.

No I think the fact that he worships the Raiders speaks volumes. I definitely think he is in the minority. Not many Sioux who bleed green cheer for the Gophers as well. No offense but that just aint me!

I don't know about you but I have attended several of the Grandmas gatherings with a mixed opinion. I enjoy heading down to Stubs and mixing it up with Gopher fans a little before the games (which by the way you can walk a short distance to). Not to deflate the alumni gathering any but it is nice to be amongst the enemies and listen to the difference in opinion from the other side. I don't paint my hair green but I'm damn proud to sport the UND Hockey cap on UM's campus!

The indicator is NOW....You beat us...and you have a good team...You don't and you can't claim that distinction.

And that is fine...Like I said...Sight lines are good..seat pitch is good....But the bottom line is that the seats are narrow, I can't have a beer or a decent snack during the game and it really is a dump all things considered (10 years old or not). I'm sure that gets your ire...but that is fine....I'm a Sioux fan.

I don't think it sucks either.....But I wouldn't say it is fantastic. Corporate seating is something every arena has to deal with - you don't mess with the money pipeline.

Make that 99.99% of alums.....I don't know ANYONE who would allow themselves to be influenced in any way shape or form when that much $$$$$ is on the table. Obviously T Denny didn't care to be pushed or influenced either - I say good for him. UM doesn't like it? Then they raise the capital themselves or continue in the "fan friendly" Metrodome.

It is almost comparable to you're neighbor buying a new Porsche while you drive the family truckster around. Then picking on his car for having Italian heritage and being expensive to maintain - just looking for flaws because deep down you are very resentful of his acquisition.
