  1. Oregon loses a big home game against Ohio State and other ones vs NDSU and Hawaii. https://www.wweek.com/news/state/2020/05/07/gov-kate-brown-will-require-face-masks-at-many-oregon-businesses/
  2. https://mobile.twitter.com/GoUTRGV/status/1258057183528394752?s=19 Like Wichita State?
  3. Sacred Heart, which is in the CT suburban area of NYC, may have bought into Hockey East when it agreed to build a new arena greater than 4000. UConn only is building a 2500 seat rink, when it promised a 4000 seat one. Sacred Heart wants to be Quinnipiac in hockey. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.courant.com/sports/college/hc-sp-uconn-hockey-arena-column-20181114-story.html%3foutputType=amp
  4. About 25 minutes to the Capitals Iceplex for practice.
  5. Another big eastern suburban univeristy that might have its eyes on hockey:. George Mason U. It has a club team moving to ACHA DI next year and has ice potential with it's Arena . https://gomason.com/facilities/eaglebank-arena/
  6. This Delano, MN, player transferred from Ga Southern to Cal Santa Barbara. Wishart seems to prefer warmer climates so it might not have been possible. http://www.thegeorgeanne.com/sports/article_8d4ed8f2-782b-11ea-8df5-9f945ab5d370.html
  7. There obvously isn't enough pay for LIU coaches Maybe the Islanders knew that so they become the hero's for reducing the rent by a couple hundred k. Couldnt buy better PR just before Belmont arena opens. https://thehockeywriters.com/long-island-university-d1-hockey-program/
  8. https://thehockeywriters.com/long-island-university-d1-hockey-program/ A couple of head coaches have already declined the offer.
  9. LIU is getting major interest for transfers, as there are many players that want more playing time.
  10. LIU just announced adding mens swimming this fall on even shorter notice. https://swimswam.com/division-i-long-island-university-to-add-mens-swim-team-for-fall-2020/ But it's forgotten that LIU's budget contracted massively last year because of duplicate teams at DI and DII. Where a sport didn't have team, growth is just waiting to happen.
  11. A more positive view from Hockey News: https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/ncaa-shocker-long-island-university-announces-new-mens-program-for-2020-21
  12. NE10 schools already offer DII mens hockey, which is almost as expensive as DI. Why move them to DI, which has always been their right. Most of larger NE10 schools don't offer hockey at all. But LeMoyne could and should. Since it is in Syracuse, it could do an end around the Orange.
  13. That former local doofus trying to change our game. https://www.kansas.com/sports/college/big-12/kansas-state/article242437566.html#adnrb=900000
  14. I believe that all the DI NEWHA women schools from the D2 NE10 will also move their men's teams to DI. They must have move their men's teams to DI to prevent reverse Title ix suits. The eight NE10 teams moving up would be St Anshelm, St Michael, FranklinPierce, SNHU, Post, Stonehill plus Bentley and American International of the AHA. That league wont offer much scholarships to be a true competitive DI league, but just move up for legal reasons with little more expenses. But the net result will be an AHA down to 10 teams and one more playoff spot will be taken.
  15. Does anyone know if the mbb program endows it's own scholarships fully instead of the athletic department. (13 total ) The women have endowed scholarships, but not enough to cover the full cost of 15.
  16. That Phil Jackson run was against teams that are now higher majors. SIU with Walt Frazier, a good La Tech team etc. Those schools went DI almost 30 years before us. .
  17. There wasn't anything at club at all. The women's team was announced as LIUBrooklyn and the just used LIU with all games at Islanders facilites or Uniondale. Seems like the Islanders took over and gave ice time and supplies to LIU-Post. The Islanders got nearly a billion to construct their new Belmont arena from NY state and are trying to repopularize themselves by using LIU Think the NHL has made a repriority for their franchises to sponsor a college team. Lindenwood in St Louis and Clarksville near Nashville with Austin Peay may be next ones up
  18. Some thinking behind LIU's decision: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.collegehockeynews.com/news/amp/2020/05/01_LIU-Dives-In,-With-A-Lot-.php
  19. Is she Ukrainian? Everyone from that region seems to be so that name is fitting.
  20. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.collegehockeynews.com/news/amp/2020/04/30_LIU-Adding-Mens-Program.php This story says Navy has delayed a hockey announcement. The may be why AHA wanted a 12th team now for splitting later.
  21. Women's was added to the Brooklyn side this year and men's to the Nausau side. The Islander's practice arena is large enough.
  22. Perhaps it is. But UND ideally needs a dorm by the HPC and weightlifting area to help them use the facilities to the maximum and use athlete food the best.
  23. The new dormitory that will replace Memorial Stadium has to be majority non athletes per NCAA regs. Kentucky and Kansas had basketball only dorms (more like five star hotels), but the.NCAA forbid single sport dorms and every dorm must be greater than 51% non athlete.
  24. If you saw what Montana State is building in their North End Zone it is a lock.
  25. This is very good news. Gilead Sciences has developed miraculous drugs. A vaccine by Inovio Pharma has great news and the drug against Ventilator condition is nearing the FDA by CYDY. Those three drugs should pretty much stop the pandemic.
