I think the Herald has a fine sports writing staff, but I can tell you as a friend of a former Herald employee, HOCKEY stories are what drive subscriptions, ads, etc. Now, we could argue about a chicken and egg thing (i.e. does the Herald need better basketball coverage to drive fan interest or does UND need consistently better basketball teams to force the Herald to place their stories more prominently? I would say if UND had BBall programs more interesting to follow, fan interest AND more accessible Herald coverage would follow.)

If Treyson is this loyal and staying after this year, use the portal to build something special around him for next year. You can't tell me there's players who would be contributors who would love the opportunity to play with a player of Treyson's caliber.

I watched the highlight video this morning and it really stood out how quiet the crowd was even as Eaglestaff was putting on a show. Jacks fans were loud, but UND didn't seem to be getting much love.

Yes, that one was upsetting. The no over-the-back call had me questioning whether I actually knew the rules of basketball🤷‍♂️

Yeah. But even if the team is great and has a chance at the SLT champ, but there's a home hockey series, do you think the fans will show up for BBall 5 hours away? Not saying it can't/won't happen, just trying to help make a BBall more accessible. I hope to someday attend the SLT. Seems like a great event.
