Needs to happen soon - hopefully this year.
-
Wow, was not expecting my comment to blow up into the topic of the day! I used the word “ALSO” because the ‘22 was in our favor at one point.
-
Yes, and the '21 game was also there for the taking. That team can be taken down. Probably some championship hangover plus a new coach. I can see them not being as good as everybody thinks.
-
Yup, whether it's 9-2 or 8-3 (both acceptable, and would be great seasons) or even 7-4 (hope not, but even that's better than many alternatives) the bar needs to be set by playoff victories. Has to be at least 1, and 2 should be the expectation. Anything beyond that would be a bonus this year, but would set the stage for (a) Frisco run(s) as the decade wears on.
-
I’m going out on a limb and saying we beat both SU’s this year. But we’ll probably stumble in a road game like UNI or USD. 9-2 is achievable, but what really matters is that they get to the playoff quarterfinals at a minimum.

I wonder if the GFH is interested in publishing their content as freelancers?
-
Anyone make it to the exhibition today?
-
Whatever the regular season record is, I need 2 playoff wins to feel we’ve really taken a step.
-
8-3 is really an honest prediction; not sticking their neck out much with an upset prediction vs Boise or SDSU. Agree, 8-3 is the go-to “safe” prediction for this season. Hey, I’m all for 8-3. It would be one of the the Best FCS seasons ever for us; it likely means we beat at least one of BSU, SDSU, NDSU, or UNI. A good step to take, for sure. Personally, I think we have the guns to get at least one more.

Very nice article on the Tupacs and their approach to the program. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/how-und-volleyball-coaches-approached-recruiting-first-full-class

Let's get one of those losses turned into a win, and we will be seeded.

From the article - "No. 3 quarterback Simon Romfo" - Does that Feeney No. 2 and Kaminski No. 4, or vice versa?
-
I about laughed my @$$ off reading this, but it would be cool as hell.

Ashley was a good coach, but put our girls in a dangerous situation that was entirely his doing (and coincidentally, his undoing). Pryor got lucky and inherited a good program and took them to new heights (which Ashley probably would have, too, had he still been here), but gave up on this place once he realized he really couldn't take them any higher than winning a conference championship only to be matched up against at Big 10 powerhouse in the first round of the NCAA. Turns out, he was never really committed to this place in the first place (he never changed the Texas license plates on his Bronco, despite living in GF for like 4 years). I don't know what to say about Tiffin, other than he inherited a floundering program and proceeded to take them all the way to the bottom. He really was good for nothing, and while I can't stick up for Tiffin, I still blame this on Pryor. Thank God for Tupac; hopefully he won't selfishly cause more harm.

I did catch that about the defense. If they can disrupt what will likely be one of the top offenses in the league, things are heading in a good direction.
-
I think pretty good. Probably not 2011, 2013, or 2016 good, but maybe similar to those intervening years.
-
Maybe eek out a win against the Bison at home (like in '93) and then annihilate them in the dome next year (like in '94).
-
Awesome, Thanks. What is significant about the bolded days?
-
When is the first day of fall camp?
-
Cool idea, actually.

I was a little mistaken. I thought the restaurant attached to the brewery was remaining open (essentially meaning both restaurants would be open). The article was referring the pizza place. I am not surprised about the restaurant attached to brewery. Like I said, it seems they've struggled for an identity for that place. Pizza place is good, though.
-
I'm surprised it's the brewing that's closing and not the restaurant. It feels the restaurant has struggled for an identity for several years now. I would sooner drink their beer than eat their food.
-
Pretty damn cool that we are leading the way with this.

Is it purely a labor shortage (which every place claims) or is there something more? I would say my QOL is down without Hu Hot, Pita Pit, and Grand Junction. Only had Famous Dave's once, but that would have been a nice thing to have in your back pocket. Had never been to Cherry Berry, so that's not big a deal to me personally, but it does worry me about the state of the city's viability to keep good places open.
