I am a little skeptical about the Yotes turnaround. Not sure their record or ranking is truly reflective of their team. Doesn’t mean this won’t be a tough game for UND. Hard place to play and track record is not in our favor. I think UND has a little more to play for, so I hope that sense of urgency translates.
I think the offense will be ok if we’re smart with the play calls. If we’re worried about o-line protection, I’d say roll Tommy out to move the pocket and let receivers get open - He can generally find them.
This has been an area of my curiosity for several seasons. I can’t imagine our coaches don’t know how to teach these things, so are the players just not athletic enough, not smart enough, or what’s the deal?
What about Quincy Vaughan? Did he play at all? I thought there was a 3rd and short they might bring him out for, but they didn't. Also don't recall him catching a pass.
While this is all in good fun, I’m not so sure a rematch with UND or USD doesn’t come out differently. A rematch with SDSU would likely still favor the Jacks.
Should be SDSU and Montana State in the championship. If one of them stumbles, it should be there for the taking the other one. If they both stumble (for some reason), then it’s wide open.
Tommy definitely had a few overthrows, so if some of those would connect he would be more dynamic and less game manager. But there’s no way I would trade Tommy for Murray’s QB.
Before the season started, if we knew our record would be 6-3 heading to Vermilion, and one of the six wins was against NDSU, that would have sounded pretty satisfying (to me at least). Still have a shot at our goals.
