Part of me really wishes Constantini was back now that Judd is gone. Only an underclassmen, had two years to figure it out. His free was was really odd. When he’s moving he’s good. -
Caufield signed
-
Solid replacement for Judd
-
Yep both are really good. We need to get a few more however. We have just as many question marks as players at the moment. Good thing we don’t really need more F’s at the moment.
-
Unfortunately he’ll has AHL/ECHL written all over him. He may get a game in this year however. I would assume that’s part of the deal.
-
Yeah man. Program can’t catch a break right now. Would have been a really solid 2nd-3rd line option.
-
Absolutely….I was blown away Livanavage didn’t get drafted last year. Not sure what the reasoning was because (as you noted) smaller players, including dmen, are getting drafted higher and higher as the game is turning more towards skill. My only guess was that’s he’s significantly smaller than he’s listed as…or that his D is not good. He’s always played on juiced up jr teams so who knows how good his “D” really is.
-
If he was 5’10” he would have been drafted last year
-
Def could be. Strathmann has to play…Livanavage is really offensive but tiny. Probably need him too. Wiebe needs to play. I actually got Benoit and Komzak confused. In theory komzack would sit before Benoit.
-
Shattuck- Ryker Lee is someone we should be after. Snubbed from NTDP but is really really skilled/good. Zach Nehring (Minot) seems like a solid shattuck player too, good size. Currently committed to Western.
-
I’m fine with the Berg kid taking a top 6 role, but the other should be a depth add that has multiple years of eligibility. I don’t want a 25 yr old taking a spot of a current/younger player.
-
It’s embarrassing that I have to write this, but we absolutely need two more good D. One solid old dman and someone else that, at the very least, can plug and play. The frosh D are all good (maybe Benoit sits a bit) but they will struggle a bit. Injuries happen too.
-
Don’t we only need 1 F?
-
And then they’d laugh back and say who cares about the goalie position
-
Much better pedigree, 2 years younger and has played over 120 games in a significantly tougher conference. Not a righty though, they may be going for a righty.
-
Really hoping it’s warren
-
Well we’ll see how it goes. Bigger boy…so so numbers the past year playing in the WCHA. Older guy. Kind of what I thought would be coming in

Crazy thought…but what if someone like 9 takes off? I mean ridiculously skilled, probably needs two more years before the NHL…why go through a rebuild? I can think of one program that could be in his ear. -
The fact the portal has to be our savior is embarrassing at this point. We either aren’t giving our recruits a fair shot…or we’re recruiting the wrong kids. What is it? The “miss” rate is clicking a bit high from what I’m used to.
-
Agreed. But the point most folks are missing is Nodak used to be a sure fire program as far as recruiting goes. This past year was the first time I’ve heard negative things (from a recruit standpoint) about going to Und. And I’m talking high end kids. Most folks on this forum are speaking in terms of pro hockey where guys come and go and you build through free agency (which work at the pro level). The problem is, for those families with high end kids, college hockey is only the next step in the development. Right now is the message is there is zero room for error and you’ll be replaced by a 25 year old portal guy. Honestly it would be super tough for me to send a kid to this program. Really hoping things turn around quickly.

What?

We’re all fans of the program (obviously)…but looking at the folks that are attempting to spin this all in a positive light is hilarious. I wear green coated glasses but this is something entirely different hahaha

Yeah…we shall see

As a lifelong fan living in the heart of gopher land…this is really tough to watch.
