  1. He did have a decent amount of points his 18 and 19 year old years. However the comparison with Jost is a little apple and oranges as Jost didn't turn 17 until this past March I believe. There is some skill in the BCHL however it is not a very deep league like the USHL.
  2. The only reason I threw that out there was the fact variations of the final names were in play. Stars could be considered a variation of north stars. It's obviously very unlikely but many are against north stars.
  3. How about just stars? its a variation of north stars. In my opinion, its a better nickname than roughriders.
  4. Nice point. I believe there is a school in Boston that sounds a lot like BC as well. But your point is valid. It will take some getting used to if RR is chosen.
  5. Dang auto correct, Tyson jost. Seemed as though und is the favorite at this point.
  6. I was listening to tps guys podcast and jost noted that he is definitely leaning towards college and that he "really really liked ND". He did note that Denver is an option too though.
  7. Sucks for our u20 chances but he's ready
  8. That is an option for every top end recruit. My point was that recruits will still go there....they just got one. It was just an example. Wisconsin is not going to disappear from the college hockey landscape. They are simply going to have a few rough years.
  9. Wisconsin is still Wisconsin. They'll be back. But to one of your points, Wisconsin is going to be terrible this year. As I noted previously, Wisco just landed a big time recruit.
  10. I don't think he'll end up there either but those rumors are coming from more than wisconsin fans. Also, Wisconsin just land a huge D recruit 2 days ago.
  11. I guess Matthews is still weighing NCAA as an option. So you're saying there's a chance
  12. http://www.sbncollegehockey.com/2015/7/9/8922059/2016-nhl-draft-nhl-central-scouting-preliminary-players-to-watch
  13. There are always the outliers. Jonny B is consistently brought up as a guy who had lower numbers in the USHL but did well instantly in college. I tend not to focus on the outliers as they are pretty hard to find. On average, if a player does very well in the USHL they should produce at an above average level in college. That's why im curious to see what guys like Simo, JJ, and T. Olson will do after a year or two. These guys were very good USHL players, they just happened to develop a tad later. Wilkie and Gersich may struggle a little in year 1 (maybe not ) but these guys are multi-year players that should be good given time. As I noted earlier, I think Gersich will probably be the best freshman forward in year one given his skating and intensity level, other than Boeser obviously. JJ is another guy I am interested to see.
  14. I actually agree with your point, there will be one of those guys (Boeser, Wilkie, Gersich, JJ) who won't do well with the speed aspect or the physicality of college hockey in year 1. My comment was in regards to Gersich's age. He was a tweener, if he would have came in last year he would have been super young. As he is not a big guy it would a great idea for him to go back to the USHL. The USHL is such a great league that I worry less with players coming from this league as compared to guys coming in from the Candadian Junior A leagues. It depends on the player though. Out of all the players I could see Wilkie struggling the most. His D game is not one of his strengths and that could hold him back a year or two. Gersich on the other hand plays really hard so he could play a bottom 6 role if need be.
  15. Gersich actually just completed his senior year in high school, but your point is somewhat accurate.
  16. Anyone know which development camp caggulia is at?
  17. All the big alumni seem to want to keep the no name option.
  18. True. But JJ had 50 pts in 50 games in a much tougher league. Also, went +20. I could see him working his way into the lineup.
  19. Right, then maybe move Caggs off that line. That would work too. I typically like spreading the wealth over the top 3 lines. Mixing in some upperclassman. It is typically easier to shut down one line. I also see LJ having a much better year this year than in years past. These top lines must play D too....so I was thinking about it from that point as well. we'll see, it will all depend on boeser's impact.
  20. I like these too. i think the Finnish kid would easily beat on Gardner. You never know though. I've read that JJ plays a very responsible game.
  21. I definitely thought that too. One thing I have seen from boeser is that in many cases he creates his own opportunities. My thinking is that bubs won't put cags, schmaltz and boeser together. And to oxbows point these are lines to begin the season. I could see gersich or Wilkie move up (or down) depending on how they handle the speed adjustment from juniors. Maybe pogo - schmaltz - boeser Caggs - LJ - chyz My initial goal was to mix up the freshman and veterans
