I don't know....this has been the way they've done it for years. This is nothing new.

They do this by design. They take some young prospects and mix in some vets. Their young team lost to Finland in OT yesterday.

He did turn it down? I assumed he was one of the cuts. If he actually did turn it down he is definitely going to back to HS

Pretty big. The USHL is a great league.

What about Collin Adams? Is he too young? He would seem like a better option at this point than Bowen (if he's graduated HS). -

again im not trying to bash the kid and I know he has tons of potential. His NHL draft stock has been kind of plummeting however that's fine as it probably means he'll stay at und longer. The point I was trying to make is that he is a kid who definitely needs to play another year in the ushl. He doesn't appear to be ready for the college game yet. Others on that Bloomington team seem to be putting up numbers just fine. -

haha that's somewhat besides the point. 2 pts in 23 games is not good regardless of what role he is playing. I'm guessing he isn't getting scoring minutes however that is the concerning part. -

would be shocked if Mattson comes in next year. I'm guessing he falls past the third round. He's struggled mightily in the USHL in his time there. He needs to figure that league out prior to making the jump to college hockey. He had 2 goals in 23 games, no assists. I believe he has one point in like 5 playoff games. -

you probably are right, however these guys are still young, they do continue to develop over time (in most cases). Olson was nice in the ushl. I've been waiting for him to male an impact at some point. Now that may never come but I'm not writing off a player after his sophomore year. If he continues to work on his skills (and not take dumb penalties) he could get a decent look. -
he already has his degree too, his decision is starting to make more sense to me.
-
oh come on, with a 50\50 decision that's not saying much.

You never know when some guys figure it out. Olson had nice numbers in the USHL, next year may be his year. I was trying to replicate that heavy line. Rhett and Pogo really made that line go....Olson would be a nice experiment early on. Wilkie should eventually be nice. Judging by his numbers it takes him a little longer to figure out new leagues early on. -
Exactly....the AHL is much much tougher than college hockey. It is best to be prepared prior to going there.

Jost - Schmaltz - Boeser Pogo - Rhett G. - Olson Gersich - Simo - Wilkie Hoff - JJ - Yon Wolanin - T. Poolman Ausmus - Shaw C. Poolman - C. Johnson (not sure if Bast is coming in) -
I bet not. I look at it from the players standpoint not the hockey clubs.
-
sorry, I disagree.

Exacatly. Although the LJ departure is about as odd as it gets, we're still fine. We have 4 nice dmen and some nice young guys coming in. We had a relatively young team, I assume most the freshman and sophomores will take a step forward. Ladue will be really hard to replace, however our top 4 should still be solid. Berry may be forced to play his top four more than he typically does. No big deal. Our forward group will still be very good.....unless Schmaltz. Then you can forget about all the optimism coming from this post

if pauls going lukes going.

congrats to Ladue, given his age the time is probably now. The LJ signing is a big head scratcher. The only other similar signing to his (that I can think of) is probably Dell. Dell had heavy incoming competition though.

Goofs and Purdue....what a pillow fight haha. -
college hockey would be that much deeper. Getting guys who may not be ready for the pros yet. MJ is the ushl on steroids (although the difference is getting smaller every year, from a depth perspective).
-
looks true...another great commit.
-
they've lost their entire first line (which did all the damage) and their top two dmen. I still say they struggle in their NC games next year.
-
jt compher signed. Mich is in trouble next year.
