I agree with everything you said here. Sucks that Cam is getting penalized due to the uber talented dcore in front of him.

I've actually found that scalping is easier and cheaper if your team is playing the night game. Obviously the Friday session tickets are for both games so the scalper would be more willing to wait it out until the night game. I've scalped every year and paid, at the very most, face value. In some cases I've had to sit by myself however I'm pretty locked into the games so it really doesn't matter who I sit by.

Sorry, without the emoji I'm lost.

Boy I would be shocked if KT left. I am not as harsh on him as others on this forum but he is still developing and is no where close to the NHL. He is supposed to be more of an offensive defensemen. Until he QB's our #1 PP and avg's close to .5 pts/gm, he has no business leaving. He's also pretty young. No way Gage leaves, he's the captain. We'll lose Ladue and Stech. The rest stay and we will again have a log jam at D. Gage,Thompson, T. Poolman, Wolanin, Shaw, Bast, C. Poolman. -

Probably, it's a different situation with undrafted players. They have to take it while it's there. I don't think Stech would pass on that money twice. I would almost guarantee Boeser stays. He's probably not ready for the Show and next year would be really fun for him. He'll play with Schmaltz (maybe) and Jost, he'll have the chance to be in the HB discussion. Also, there's the chance to win a natty and play in the U-20 tourney again (with more of a spotlight I'm guessing). -
Tommy Novak is pretty dang good and has been heating up a lot lately. He's had a really nice second half. He's not as dynamic as Boeser but he's a really good freshman.

Agree. Ladue is absolutely gone and Stecher is probably 80%+ gone. The rest of the blue has no business leaving just yet. Given Poolman's age I could definitely see him thinking about leaving but there are aspects of his game that he can still improve. Early in the year I would have said Schmaltz is 100% leaving, now I'm sitting at closer to 85% and that's only due to how much pressure he'll get from CHI to sign (their prospect pool is depleted due to all the trades they've been making). As it stands today, I think Schmaltz should probably stay and continue to develop. He's gotten a lot better since his freshman year but there are still aspects of his game that he must work on to become an NHL player. Now he could do that in the AHL as well but I would be shocked if he wouldn't want to compete for a natty or HB (especially given his young age, there should be no rush). If he left after this year, he would almost certainly spend at least a year in the A, which I guess is not that bad but playing through a junior year at UND has its perks as well. -
Ghost just didn't come out of no where...he was a 3rd rounder who played on the US U-20 team. He was well known. There were also others from the Union team who were good. I also believe they were one of the top ranked teams in the country that year. RMU is not, and they won't win the tourney this year. Ok, I'm done. Gophs suck.
-
I am talking about the players on their team....most of them. Even Ryan Norman was supposed to be better than he has been so far. They just aren't producing. Many of the players on their team were great college prospects, it just hasn't materialized this year. Minny has the pick of the litter (in almost all cases) and their kids were all were good players before heading to college. Most of them could have gone to any other college in the country. The problem with MN is not talent, it's that they don't play the game the right way. Kids on their lowers lines won't accept that they are lower line players. For the past two years their locker room has been non stop drama. Back to the point, all I was saying is that their roster has many talented individuals. In a one and done tourney, that can sometimes cause problems. I do agree with you on one thing though, I too don't think they'll make it.
-
Yeah, just Notre Dame. You're right, I will go back to RMU's schedule. The Big10 is not good, although I would argue they are better than the WCHA, but the AHC is terrible. Check out the bottom 15 of the pairwise. I get it that MN is having a tough year, but on paper they SHOULD be good. Not that talent will always produce wins (obviously), but in a one and done tourney I would rather play a team with less talent. RMU's top 2 guys look pretty decent, especially that Lynch kid (good numbers from soph year on) however the Gophs have much more talent (on paper).
-
its easy to say that because we don't like the gophs but I know who is more talented. RMU has a few nice NC wins but overall their schedule is terrible. MN has my money on who's a better team. Lastly, I wouldn't want the emotional drain after that first game. We'd match up much better against RMU from a depth perspective.
-
I saw Anderson dress as well, didn't see Tomek although I could have easily missed him. Honestly, the Tomek situation is one of the weirder things I have seen at UND is some time.
-
I would much rather play RMU.

I hope so. There was a lot of rumbling last night regarding his compete level. However, it was only one game and he did make a nice play to win the game. Sometime big lanky kids like that have a "lazy stride". You're right, he'll hit the weights pretty hard here. If he is a 3rd round (or later) draft pick I would like to see him play a full year in the USHL prior to coming here. He needs to grow into his body a bit. As a disclaimer, I've only seen him play twice. However, I've came away with the same thoughts both games. When you watch Mittelstadt (sp?) or Tufte play you see a whole different level of "game changer".
