  1. right, but Sanderson would already be in the stands given that everyone else is healthy.
  2. I'm interested to see who he would play over. Prior to the season starting I would have said Rhett, but assuming he's healthy I would say Rhett plays. I've been pretty surprised with him.
  3. I honestly was starting to think that he was bolting at Christmas but he's still here. If he does not play in one game could he leave after this year and claim medical hardship and still have 4 years of eligibility?
  4. Yes, I believe so. He turns 18 in March. Anyone know the age cut-off?
  5. Agreed but it's a ton easier to judge the outcome of a kid from the NTDP (assuming they don't decommit) or a top producer from the USHL vs some of those lower level Canadian Jr A leagues. For every one of the Caggs there are more that don't necessarily pan out. As UND is a top tier program it is tough not to look at these young producers. However, UND has been great at finding a mixture of blue chippers and solid over agers.
  6. I watched him play against Edina several weeks back. The talent level and reach is definitely there. He's good. He needs to get much bigger and he must improve his motor. A decent amount of coasting. GR has been playing some pretty tough teams but as a previous poster noted Tufte is going bonkers right now. Mattson should be doing the same. I'm guessing the scouts see Mattson's skillset which is very real.
  7. Agreed, the second was terrible. I'll say it again, I think US left some very good pieces off of this team. By no means was this the best U20 team the US could have fielded (obviously excluding NHL players). Conner, Roslovic, Tuch, Keller, Bellows, Garland, etc. Some of those boys should have been on this team. A lack of offense showed when it mattered.
  8. I think next year will be borders year. In regards to the WJC.
  9. they were missing their best dman too. That program is getting very good. I would guess we'll start seeing more and more of the NTDP players go north or oversees. Keller is averaging over 2 pts per game against NCAA competition. Nuts.
  10. I agree with burd, I think this is what LJ is. And he's right, he's not taking too many offensive zone stick penalties. Shocking, as he's pretty much been the exact same player since his frosh year. Not much growth offensively. It's due to his skating.
  11. boys need to pick it up. It appears the break has hit them bit. At this rate the U18 team will be tough.
  12. That entire 4th line was a glaring weakness against Canada. Eansor was part of the problem.
  13. Yeah, agreed. Those nchc dmen looked good, especially Belpedio. I also agree with the end of your post too. I'll swap eansor, Hitchcock, and Macinnis for any of those guys you mentioned except Bracco. He didn't deserve it.
  14. who's the getter on the CBS line? If its schmaltz you'd be right. Guy is a takeaway machine.
  15. it doesn't necessarily mean an "extra" year in the ahl. The A is a much tougher league then college, some players need to take more of a progression approach rather then simply jumping to the NHL. However, as far as schmaltz goes, I think coming back to und for his junior year would be wise. His skill has always been there however he could continue to get bigger and work on his D game, while continuing to pile up points. If he does well at the WJCs and had a strong finish to the college season I doubt he comes back.
  16. I wonder if they'll replace Bittner with someone.
  17. Makes sense. I knew I was reaching a bit I simply thought it was odd Schloss kept putting it on the player. Don't see that too often.
