  1. Am I the only one that thinks Simonson should get some more playing time? He was one of the more reliable faceoff guys it seemed. Weird, do we have an excess of talent across the board for next year?

I like Simonson too. I thought him Poganski and Olson looked good together at the beginning of the year

  2. Grimaldi deserves most of the blame. He loses the face-off and then didn't take out the trailing Holl.

I'm getting tired of people saying it was such a fluky goal when in reality it was a very typical hockey goal. What we just saw in Boston is a fluke goal. Rau won the face-off cleanly, no fluke there. Skjei is first to the puck and makes a nice play by chipping it ahead off the boards to Holl. Holl immediately rushes up the ice and gets it to Rau who's eventual shot was blocked and it came to Holl. I'm assuming this is the part you guys say is a fluke, the fact that the puck found Holl. But watch it again. It's not like the puck just found Holl's stick, in fact he made a great play by playing it off his skate to his stick in order to get a shot off as quickly as he could. It was a very slick play by him. Shots are blocked or deflected and bounce to open players all the time in every single game so I'm not sure how that constitutes a fluke. They won the face-off, got up the ice quickly, and managed to get 2 shots off. The end result of the play was made due to a series of good plays leading up to it.

I dont think the goal happens had our boys not thought the period was over

  3. I am Jordan's biggest fan and appreciate everything he has done for this program. However, he did not play that rush perfectly. He should have pinched before Rau ever carried it into our zone....especially given the amount of time on the clock. Even if Rau somehow walked him at the red line it would have killed another second or two...which would have mattered. Watch the play again.

Jordan can be an awesome player when he wants to be but then he plays lazy sometimes to from what i've seen

  4. I'm use to all ther personal attacks

I think they are just jelly that I get inside information.

Because you state the obvious. You said you knew Zane was leaving after he left, he was one that we wernt sure was going to leave, i for one dont think he's ready. And Schmaltz is most likely to leave so you had no problem saying that one. You didnt say anything about Caggiula and Strcher again because none of us knew

  5. Figured Jordan would have signed a long time ago. You really think Nick is leaving? I cannot imagine him leaving whatsoever.

I dont think Nick will sign, i think this will be a big year for him if Hak puts him on the right line. And i say he could get 10 to 15 more goals if he gets more selfish with the puck which he should and needs to get!

  6. The discussion has already begun in the early departure thread, so let's just have on dedicated to it. Who you got?

    Mine are:

    C Drake

    A Bryn

    A Stecher

    A St. Claire

Reasons: Drake is the fire on that team. Bryn is the emotion guy. Stecher is the calming guy. Colton actually has an extra year with the team, and has deep roots into the group. No Schmaltz because I think he's gone.

    My picks too!

  7. Coaching staff wants LaDue to stay. LaDue's dad is pressuring him to sign. Kings are also obviously pressuring LaDue to sign, but have also informed LaDue that they want him to develop in the AHL rather than going to the NHL right away. LaDue is conflicted.

Dont the Kings think he's developing fine at UND?

  8. Funny how I said I had inside info the day before this announcement

Anyone can say that. I think everyone has inside info, they just dont ant to say anything until it comes out the next day then they'll share it

  9. Now that report has been refuted by Matthews and he HAS NOT signed but is still mulling options....

Although I truly think it is less than 1% to see him in NCAA at this point.

You're going with even that much of a possibility? Lol

  10. Meh. I find it hard to get too worked up over this subject. In the last two decades the NCAA, over virtually no opposition from the coaches or schools, moved towards the non-campus regionals and the single game elimination. As a result, it gave the "overwhelming majority" of the schools, the ones that realistically year in and year out aren't likely to compete for the championship, a "punchers chance" on that one year they do make it. Going to be hard to get them to give that up.

I really don't know why fans cry about empty regionals. Frankly, I've always found it a plus. Good, cheap seats are plentiful for last minute decisions to go. No problem getting hotel rooms.

There is the "no atmosphere" that tv and other media complain about, but so what.

Havnt you ever heard a player say how pumped they get in a loud arena, or are you one of those fans that just sit and do nothing?

  11. Why does Flickertails even get mentioned?

Because it is a nickname of the state.

Given that thinking, let's just instead use the better state nickname:

Roughriders. They could come up with a pretty cool logo.

Being the flickertails again would not be good. I could live with Roughriders
