I'm absolutely jacked for this game. The homer in me likes what we have in common, a lot of new faces. In our case, it's reason for excitement. For them, it's not having David Fales. I'm looking for an Tillman pick, big sack, forced fumble, etc... something of that ilk to get me perked up and say "Soooo you're saying there's a chance." This isn't an impossible game, even with what little we know. This team was .500 with a preposterously good quarterback. I'd feel a lot better if Bubba had another year under his belt going into this, but we have other fish to fry that year.

They better get a pretty good ticket allotment for accepting this joke. More than the half section or w/e road teams usually get. Otherwise, we shouldn't have done it.

I think about this idea WAY too much so I figured I'd type it out.
I like Nodaks. What the logo would be I guess would be more concern to me than the mouthful.
I still like Roughriders. I think the University should be big enough to look past condom jokes and local high schools.
On the thought of outlaws, I don't know if it's been said, but Badlanders would be kinda cool. Tough to chant though. Could be a cool logo.
Norse is awesome, but probably can't use people.
I still like Oilers. I think it would make us more popular with the newer residents in the big sky part of the state, and quite frankly, I like that it probably pisses off the same people who didn't like Sioux.
As far as animals in North Dakota, there are a few cool ideas I thought:
A variation of Cougar. I think >30 schools use cougar. I think if it's one or two other schools have it, it's fine, but not the case here. I haven't found a great relevant synonym for cougar yet. Allegedly there is over 40 though. You can't lie on the internet.
Wolves is BA. Not here anymore, but according to Lewis and Clark journals there were here (and if they were here, it would be by the same method bison are here anyways). You have to do it somehow to differentiate from the diseased franchise that is the Timberwolves, but that shouldn't be all that tough. There aren't many teams that are 'just' wolves (wolfpak, seawolves, timberwolves...), and let's go back to our reasoning for picking our last nickname... It's a good exterminator of gophers and bison, and its all right in a Let's Go (insert name) cheer. Admittedly doesn't roll off the tongue as well, but it works. Can be an aggressive, non-feel good, logo to it. Also, think sweet National Geographic pre-game video of a pack of wolves tearing into a bison. Let's scar some children.
One of the hawks or falcons in the state could probably be done OK. Owls is pretty native bird.. though being a pheasant hunter, it's hard not to hate them.
Bigger animals like Elk, Wild Horses (Nokota), Moose could be fun logos. I'd have to seen it done right though. Elk doesn't roll off the tongue, but it'd be a cool logo. The wild horse logo idea could be very original and cool.

I thought the biggest issue in Williston was finding a parking spot at a grocery store that actually had things on the shelves.
I'm sort of surprised that Whole Foods and Trader Joe's aren't looking at Bismarck/Mandan. A lot of folks go there for supplies.
I live in Williston; it's not like it was when I moved 2 years ago and it was common that all the milk had already been bought. It'd just be nice to have more choice. I don't really care if my food is organic or not, but there'd be people who'd go. There was rumors that Cashwise (whose building all over the west) was going to put in a second store on the west side of town, which would be awesome. They are building an underpass now, but if you live on the west side of town (like me) you have a cross highway 2, which is annoying, so an option on the west side of the highway is really all I want, whether it's trader joe's or another cashwise (I like Cashwise).

If there is a window for an FBS Big Sky opening in ten days, Cal Poly, UCDavis, UND, and E Wash need to fundraise for >15,000 seats quickly.
The P5 might write into the FBS rules that any FCS conference with one FBS team can transition to FBS. The G5 really might not like it, but they can't do a thing about it. The P5 want more schools in the G5, so the scheduling is cheaper.
I can bring my own chair for the endzone plaza. 1 down...

agreed. I think Bortles or Mollberg can be more than proficient at the helm. I believe there are much much greater areas of concern.

For some reason you folks seem to think that all the communication via email defines this situation. So you are trying to tell that over the two year gap that there was no communication via phone? They never talked?
Can the forum or herald open records request the cup phone running from the Hyslop to BSA?

Reapers is aight. I just worry about the possible cheesy logo.
Plus with Oilers, I'm doing everything I can to plug my industry. I seriously wonder though if it would help us get a larger market share due to ppl in western ND identifying with it.

I kinda like it...but I think the argument to be made against it will be that it pertains primarily to the ice hockey teams of the university as opposed to encompassing all athletics.
Nope can't have it... logic on this board dictates so. That was the name of Rugby's Junior Gold Hockey teams. We'd just be copying and alienating every other junior gold fan in the state.
