  1. Off topic...

Anyone remember the post where guy talked about Cal Poly coach screaming at UND student section about "you still have to live here" or something like that?

My money is 2009 and this guy was the coach.

Haha wow. It was me. Could have been the right guy. I thought it was an offensive coach but he definately looks similar but its hard to remember. Ill pass the picture around to who was sitting with me.

To balance out the player defections thread I guess this shows white people do all look alike ;)

  2. @SiouxFootball: Kalen Deboer's interview ended today. Fully expect next head coach to know soon. Like tonight. When it will be released, nobody knows.

If they actually make a decision tonight I'd bet there would be a press conference in the morning. Faison is pretty good at controlling the message. It would be pretty tough for everyone to keep it secret for very long.

  3. The only folks that can definitely say how an interview went are on the interview committee.

Now if your "deeply involved with the football team" sources are on the committee they are believable; otherwise, ...

I post freely with my name but I doubt who I talked to would be as comfortable with it as I. If you think its crap that's understandable and fine. I think some people probably appreciated I shared it, some think its crap. Its a tough audience to please.

  4. Agreed. He's a great talent, but quitters don't make all-time lists.

Love the list, but I wouldn't want a quitter on my team. Just my opinion.

Fair points... I guess I don't think going up a division is quitting, but I respect the view on the other side. Does that mean Ryan Chappell would be excluded from greatest RB discussions?

  5. Bubba will work his rear end off...this is his dream job

For deboer is a stepping stone...he was the one who dismantled our prgoram...

I want green blood in here.

    I do kinda like that.

For the rumor about Mussman going to SU (which has to be ludicrous doesn't it? ...doesn't it?), offenses we had were pretty good with him. Let's assume the new coach is Bubba (there's worse bets in the world right now), Bubba obviously knows Muss, any chance he's the OC. I know it would be unbelievably odd, but his kids go to school here. I think he genuinely really liked it here. idk... He's gonna be an OC somewhere probably.... just throwing it out there

  6. Dustin Iverson favorite the hashtag #takeyourtime and also tweeted "I just want a coach. Is that too much to ask for..."

I would bet a shiny penny that Brian knows this second who he's going to hire. Let's just get it done with, so he can get to work and save what's left.

  7. Talking to people who played under Bubba, they say he's awesome. Talked to a couple who recruited him and they didn't think it was very awkward (like was brought up earlier). They say he'll gets you jacked up. I liked Pflu, but that doesn't appear to be happening. I think Bubba has the best chance to bring in a solid staff despite people thinking he's a different version of Lennon. Which, btw, I would love. I don't know why Lennon's name is being used in a negative connotation here, he's still the only championship coach in UND football history, so I'd love to have Lennon 2.0. I understand if you are afraid of Mussman 1.2 or 2.0 or Mussman Vista, but I think that's pretty unfair.

All three are different coaches with significantly different personalities. Mussman's was beat to death over the past season, so I'll let that lie. Lennon commanded respect calmly. People I know who played who him would just keep using the word awesome, and the phrase "you didn't want to let him down" was repeated. Like I said earlier Bubba is the most animated of the three.

All different, but make the easy connections if you want pretending they are just a re-run of each other. I mean, Mussman was exactly like Lennon, so it all makes perfect sense.

  8. Chappell won the 100, 200 and both hurdles at state in 2005. It was the last state meet in Grand Forks and one of the best performances I've ever witnessed.

Chappell at one point had like the 3rd fastest 300m hurdle time in the nation or something rediculous like that. The football team wasn't the only team on campus disappointed when he wasn't eligible anymore.
