I got the chance to talk to big Rome on Tuesday...he told me about the USA deal...which is great for him!!! He also said he is looking at the Spurs and the Mavs to try and get a two year deal signed....he wants a guranteed two year deal... I still think IMO that he would be better off going over seas and making a ton of money and putting it away...just not sure he will make it past the 12th man or stay on their IR all the time like he did in Miami...and with every draft it becomes tougher to make a roster in the NBA...

as always there is more to the Marsden story than everyone always knows....including people who talk directly to Marsden and I will leave it at that!!! secondly...the UWGB coach went to the paper and blasted the kid....that is what was wrong with what he did...plain and simple....it was wrong....

false promises.....now please enlighten me there....i know for a fact...even returning kids have to earn a spot on the roster....there are no gurantees to make the team...false promises how so??? I think the biggest kudos given to Ziegler can be example of Marsden who signed a letter of intent and if Z would not have let him go...he would not have gotten to Nebraska or possibly drafted...if he was here at UND... So your telling me no coach ever talks up a recruit...come on espn....every coach does it....but he never gurantees a spot...and i have personally heard him say that to a kid on the phone and in person...

funny thing was that in the picture they showed of Phil Jackson was Bill Fitch and Jimmy Rodgers who was his assistant at the tie...and yes it did say North Dakota right across the front of his jersey...

i think its marketing...not many know about it...unless its NDSU and then there are 1500 people there....2.35 scholarships.....to get 40 guys out to play....you have to find kids who still want to play and love the game...the kid from ICC had 29 hr's in two y ears....54 RBI last year...i dont care what level it is or isnt...thats a lot of RBI and HR's....like i have said many times...a move up or even on a level playing field any of UND's coaches arent concerned about that as much as being able to compete for a championship....Z man would kill to have 9 scholarships like Central Missourri....no wonder their good huh.... as far as a pitching coach...heck even a full time asst. coach would help for recruiting...you simply cannot put that responsibility on a GA....they help a lot..but they cant evaluate talent.....they dont fully know the level of a player....its that simple....and its no wonder why Mankato St. is so good...they have a full time asst coach....possibly two and have more $$ than UND's baseball team...all and all....kudos to the baseball team.....along with many more kids who were recruited by other NCC schools and will be walking on at UND....because of the campus and the education level at UND.....the other thing that is killing UND is the act score of 21....simply crushing the border line kids....especially when your asking them to play and compete for no $$....

Big D is on the ten year plan...otherwise he would apply although he is a Red River boy...as Kaulker would say....so GFC would be a changing of the stripes...he is the asst baseball coach at RR you know...he is big TIME!!!

i believe it was due to the suite holders, whether they were there or not....they were counted as all attending the game....even though I have nothing to say....according to Cratter!!!!!

what amazes me is how a coach can sit their and say that to anyone after what went on.....amazes me.....i hope he doesnt come up to this area and recruit another kid.....truth of the matter is.....word spreads very fast in this part of the country....and when someone is done wrong....it spreads....as long as he as a coach can look at himself and know he did his best then no worries....not sure that applies to this coach....ever since i have had kids.....the true measuring stick of a man and a coach is for me to answer this question....would i want my kid to play for him or her....if yes...then they should be able to look in the mirror with no worries...if no...then....what comes around goes around.....every duck has their day...so dont quack too loud!!!!

Marshallis a public institution and those things if requested by the media can and do become public knowledge...like the letters written or even emails from a university email are all public record...so even though it says confidential...it can be open record if their laws are the same as North Dakota..which i am assuming it is..

i was in a home that was purchased for 128,000...taxed by the city at 140,000...paid in taxes 3,000 a year...a little less...a home i just looked at...a open house in GF...who they were selling it to move out of GF because the taxes were higher here than when they lived in Fargo or on the lake in Detroit Lakes...so that was my point...thanks again for your factual information...i am sure their information was factual as well!!!!

i guess only time will tell...i do believe there are a lot of people who live off the base...i hope it brings Grand Forks market back down to earth because real estate and rent is outrageous in this town...even ask Fargo people...

PS - That means that Jeff Bowen couldn't have applied for Blais' job a year ago he could have applied for the job....he just would not have been a internal candidate...but i am still not so sure they are not considered state employees...paid by the state...with state dollars...if thats the case...then they would be a internal canidate..

No AD at UND has done any less than five years since the 1920's. this is incorrect..Terry Wanless was AD from 1990 to 1999....9 years.

If we can keep a top-shelf fundraiser in a position where he can focus on what he does very, very well, namely fundraising, UND Athletics seems very well positioned. that is so wrong.....if he is the BEST person for the job...he should get it....to not give him the job because we will lose our main or best fundraiser is a horrilbe reason....and anyone who tells you any different is WRONG!!!!!

RD 17...valid points.....but as far as comparing sports cratter you have to look at if teams are equally funded....if all teams with each sport have the same scholarships, asst. coaches, budgets for travel, recruiting...etc...then you can compare it....but obviously...not all NCC teams are funded equally....hence you can see a difference in success....although basketball teams in the NCC are fairly equally funded.
