Corella agreed....Z should get coach of the year heck of a job....also agree that pitching is a concern with all the games being 9 inning games....which is why UNO and even NDSU are scarey....UNO has 2 or 3 real good pitchers and then not much and NDSU has the flame thrower...key for UND will be to host the tourney and win early....if you lose right away and have to play a ton of games is when pitching will become a HUGE concern!!!! not sure if 5 pitchers is enough to win the tourney but all and all one heck of a year for the Fighting Sioux!!!!!

huge wins for the Sioux and like i said Mankato split so the Sioux are up one game with four with Mankato St. this weekend....at home....i hope the weather holds up, if the sioux get 2 of 4 they will win the conference....unreal...i am really really happy for coach Ziegler...

Sioux baseball wins first game 2-1 huge win for the Sioux and the Mankato Mavs split today...as of right now Sioux can do no worse than be tied with Mankato coming into the weekend....huge games these next 5.....HUGE i say!!!!

Heston did throw in relief though 3 or 4 innings on friday too, and Sukut will likely throw again too i imagine...Mr. Piep did get tossed and the Sioux are waiting on word from the conference office, they believe he will sit at least one game for sure....Sioux clinched a top four finish with USD getting swept....Sioux are lookin at getting one of two from NDSU and three of four from Mankato to clinch the title, or any four of the next six whether that is a sweep or not....Heston concerns me against NDSU...hope they dont figure him out early...and if NDSU gets a lead their relief pitcher that throws 92 - 95 mph is a concern...he is tough....UND got two hits off him in his relief appearance in game 2 and they were not well hit at all....go SIOUX.....get that title.....

answer you just said the top teams were as good as NCC teams....then you siad NCC should be better cuz they have more money?? which is it? most baseball teams arent fully funded in fact i bet none are in the NCC....UND has 15,000 to spend on scholarships....make you feel fool now gettin killed by them....does doesnt it...

answer have you seen any of these northern sun teams play?? i have and i am going to have to back corella on this one...BSU is absolutely brutal they are horrible....they have two hitters one who was at UND and one pitcher that is it, and their in what third place right now...their horrible...my juco team beat them when we played their varsity....give me a break and a juco in minnesota with no scholarship money so.....havent seen any of the others but i can imagine how the rest are as well same as every other year....throw a NSIC team a bone and get into the regional and have one and barbecue or is it two and barbecue take your pick....joke....that is the joke.....

not really....when UND added women's soccer we were very very close to being in comliance with title IX....even whatever shortcomings that someone would have like to point out we were making progress towards being equal...and still are by adding scholarships to womens track and CC as well as soccer going up every year so the need to add hockey wasnt there and the people who were pushing women's hockey are no where to be found now?? i wonder if they even go to the games....the biggest problem is there are no feeder programs in ND for hockey so why start a collegiate sport?? the city of Grand Forks has only one women's hockey team and they want UND to have the sport?? makes no sense at all...talk about puttin the cart in front of the horse....perfect example here!!!!

women's hockey will be the demise of programs....it is the reason St. Cloud, and Mankato are in the trouble they are in right now...700,000 a year to run their program and its only going up with added scholarships and adding coaches and increasing current coaches salaries....when they draw 150 people to their game

honoray coach in 98...was a guy wearing jersey number 99 i believe....none other than coach Dagwoods himself....may have to bring that thing out of retirement when we go down to NDSU coach D....

i will find out tomorrow...if they were ranked or not.....i dont think they were in 93 when they went to the series i believe i remember coach sayin they came from no where to win it and were the only unranked team in the series...but i will check to make sure since i dont have any info to contribute to this site according to some.........i think they were ranked in 98 if i remeber correctly though....good info corella as always your on top of it all

corella....really the SDSU fans were saying they may cut baseball??? that is crazy...didnt get to the games wish i had....4 big huge wins for the Sioux though....sets it up as a big finsih..go to Omaha for four, NDSU for two, and Mankato for four the following weekend....hopefully knock on wood and dont jinx it may have a new conference champ since 1969 for baseball.......that would be great for Z man.......he has worked hard paid his dues and done what he could do with what he has been dealt...i would be extremely happy if they could get this done.....although a year late for you Corella....heard earlier also that SDSU may drop their football...i stated that on a earlier post....what is going on down there...chaos at its craziest.......wow...

weekend weather is a chance of rain both sat and sunday more so on sunday...so talkin to Z this morning may move the games to friday, saturday depending upon what the weather says for sunday.....will keep posted or check out fightinsioux.com for any changes, they always post it on their first, coach said he wont know until tomorrow since they are going to UMC today for a doubleheader...the boys need to guard against any let down....JJ was begging to get into both games against the BISON...so that is a good thing but Z did a good job of using him wisely to preserve the wins.....

some bison i saw that too...the sid boys must have been a little excited....but no doubt two huge wins.....puts the sioux in the drivers seat as a sweep is definitely a possibility this weekend as SDSU is down this year.....jj did pitch two innings today and the other two starters Schlangen and TJ i believe could have...although TJ said his arm was still a little sore...

too many to name and if i tried to i would forget to slight someone....more important to me than any of these guys being good football players is the type of people these young men are and become....for the most part it has been great to be around all of these gentlemen and you know who you are...my kids have enjoyed being around you guys too....thanks....

also heard that the best player in the state played on the same team as the kid who got mr. basketball in WI but he is a junior and that the state of Wisconson does not give their mr b - ball award to juniors....their two juniors have already had offers from marquette, wisconson and other d1 prominant schools..so take that for what its worth.....

i agree with that....i guess they are really high on their point guard from southern minnesota cannot recall the town....they will not red shirt him i guess and play him right away....

RH just said he is going to NDSU....told me this morning....RG talked to him yesterday and he told him that is where he was going to school....there you go....
