I have to agree with Iceberg (dang) a bigger (and better) dish is always the best way to go, but it "may" be cheaper with just a swap out of the LNBF, no installer service call to pay for you can do it yourself. I dont have one of these LNB's yet so I am only going by what other people have said. Should have one soon and I will post my results.

I have a 90cm dish and seem to have the same problems as peeps with the 30" dish, a quality (American made) 30" can work just as good as poorly made 90cm dish! The only thing that has saved me is the DirecPC dish I have, I have still to try the new Invacom 0.3db LNBF (SNH 031) but from what I have heard it will "help". An installer from Texas just e-mailed me about them and he was raving about the signal gain, they are guaranteed for 5 years and the good thing about them is its an easy swapout for anyone. After changing any LNBF you MUST do a re-scan as all LNBF are tuned differently, these LNBF come with a factory printout of their performance. They are also Universal LNBF so the L.O. must be changed in the antenna set up screen to.. 09750-10600 Anyone who has one let us know your results, someone at satelliteguys.us done a review of one recently.

A 48" dish should really help, they are costly but I can get them also, the problem is the shipping they are oversized items and cost a lot to ship! Next best thing you can do is get a better (low noise) LNBF, I recommend a 90cm dish and the SNH 031 (0.3db) LNBF its the most bang for the buck that I know of but as Iceberg said it should not be this way! I have been saved by the DirecPC dish I have a few times this year. (still got two left) There is so much more to see when you add a motor to a FTA system, for example all the hockey over the holidays was FTA, networks from all different areas, sports and news feeds, if you cant get the Sioux game you can usually get a game from another region! Say no more! Go Sioux!

There are Ultra low noise LNBF available (0.3db) expect to pay around $75 shipped. A bigger dish will help. Signals up, very poor! 39% quality Satwork 3618 and DirecPC dish. OK 50% quality Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra with 90cm dish. OK

Perfect picture on Satwork ST 3618 with a direcPC dish Quality= 38% Slight break up now and then on... Fortec Star Lifetime Ultra with 90cm dish Quality=44% Tip go up one channel then come back down if the picture is breaking up!

For those trying to find the AMC-9 satellite use the below coordinates and watch screen for signal quality...... unlike the recent problems with the Sioux games signal quality there are no problems like that with these feeds, Happy New Year to all! DFreq : 11755 (H) SR : 4.232 Its a NBC test card.

The only way to get the above is with a motorized KU satellite system, its on the AMC-9 satellite, FTA in the clear, its going to be a great day of hockey!
