We will see how many minutes Avants actually gets in this one, played the first minute and a half and then was subbed for Rebraca. -

While that 3 didn't fall for Marlon, that was a better looking shot. It is looking better and better. 2-0 DU 18:22 1st -

Avants is starting -
UND put together one of their better performances of the year as they took down ORU, now UND looks to punch their ticket into Sioux Falls as they take on a struggling DU team. To say this has been a season to forget for DU is an understatement, injuries have taken a toll on a team that was expected to be a top 4 team in the Summit. Now they are tying to make one last dash to just make into Sioux Falls. If there is any good news, they do have 2 good opportunities to get wins and perhaps get into the tournament. They do know however that 2 more losses will write the book on the DU season. Its simple for UND, a win and they go to the Summit League tournament. If they win and a loss to WIU would clinch them the 7 seed. I would like to see UND, no matter what happens, to finish the season strong and start to build the process for next season. Honoring the Seniors: UND will be honoring their 2 seniors: Connor Avants and Cortez Seales, who have been solid contributors in each of their 4 season at UND. They were apart of a NCAA Tournament and BSC Conference Championship team. Both players have scored well over 1000 career points in their career. Avants was the blue collar guy, his motor was always running and you look up the box score and realize that despite his shorter stature, he would put up 14 and 7 a night. Seales was at the time a highly touted recruit from Iowa and his old school mid range game carved up a 2-3 zone many times. He also was a solid rebounder, defender and the occasional ball handler. He was awarded the reserve of the year in 2016-17 in the BSC. He moved into the starting lineup for the last two years and have been a solid starter. Thank you to Connor and Cortez. Milestone Watch: Moody has 70 3 pointers this season, which is 10th all time on the single season record list at UND. While it will be tough for Moody to catch the all time record at 104 this year, minus an epic run at the Summit League Tournament. He is within shouting distance of the record at the D-1 level, which is 84, set by Hooker. Other Games: Omaha (11-2) @ NDSU (8-5) USD (5-8) @ SDSU (12-2) ORU (6-8) @ WIU (3-10) The Call: Simple for UND, win and in. I think they build on their ORU performance and while they won't shoot as well as they did against them, it will be good enough to get the job done. UND 82-72

If UND beats DU, they are in. The best scenario for UND would be the 6 or 7 seed and having both NDSU and Omaha on the same side of the bracket.
-
Got the two results they needed. A win and a WIU loss will lock up the 7 spot.
-
I wish he and Marko had done that instead.

Might be the 2nd option, might be a rough year for the Lynx. Still some excitement for Lindsey and the girls to make the NCAAs but yes it is the doldrums for MN Sports.

To comment on a few points -That is my issue with Walter, and I will throw Brown in this as well. They both will have a 2-3 games where you go: Okay, I can see why they are starters, then 2-3 games where you throw your hands up and go WTF are they still on the roster! They have gotten better but because of some deficiencies right now on the squad they are in roles that I think they are not prepared for. If we had this version of Walter and Brown last year as reserves, I don't think they go 12-20 last year. Unless they have the people capable of replacing them in the lineup, I suspect they will start next year, and maybe they can take another step up. -I want this team to add a guard and another big (traditional 5 preferably). If UND does that the 2 scholarships (according to verbal commits) and they don't give those to their non-scholarships, that is where I would address the teams issues. Of course we are assuming that everyone comes back next year, which is no guarantee (I wouldn't be surprised to see a freshman decide to move on*) I don't know much about Schmidt and his expectations but I would love another big that can play the 5 and that would allow Rebraca to stay at the 4 and would give UND the option to move Walter to the bench. The PG is interesting. I would love a pure point guard that can run the show, but so would 350 other programs. I wish they kept Davids in the rotation and let him work it out in competition. I can see Panoam working out but I'm worried about his size. (Although yes, UND did have AA from back in the day and didn't have any issues). -I want Eikens to be that immediate contributior. A young core of Moody, Rebraca and Eikens would be great to build around -They will probably finish with around the same record as they did last year, but I feel disappointed that they left many games on the table and made the same mistakes over and over again in these close situations. You are right that this team is far better than the 14-15 disaster, but two goods things came from that season: Q grew up and Jones realized that it wasn't going to work with that group and overhauled the roster that led to the success in 16-17. -I would love to see someome else from this freshman class step up and be a contributor, I think that is where I am most disappointed. Outside of Rebraca (I'm not counting Moody because he redshirted in this situation) no one else has stepped in and has been a consistent contributor. This needs to be a big offseason for one or two of these freshman. -The Summit next year is going to be a dogfight. I don't see why UND can't compete next year. -I want this team to take a foreign trip next year. *I have no inside information
-
What should be the expectation of Desean Allen-Eikens for next year. I would love for him to have at least Moody/Rebraca sized impact on this squad.
-
I honestly think that is what will happen unless they totally collapse and miss on Sioux Falls. None of this "going into lame duck" year nonsense again.

Couple of important games for UND tonight to watch DU is at USD and Omaha is at WIU. Would need USD and Omaha to win to continue to solidify their hold on the 7th spot.

Getting smacked around by the Blues. Far from a Wild fan, but its time for them to jettison the core, something they should have honestly done 2 seasons ago, if not last year. so much for that "tweak" away

Good, I hope so. Thought Miller said something about nagging knee/back injuries.
