  1. Next week in the valley, the only two important games of note to UND fans YSU (5-3) @ ISU Red (5-3) This is the most important game in the Valley if you are a UND fan (not counting UNDs game against ISU Blue). Both of these teams are battling to get into playoff contention. Whoever wins this game is going to have a major leg-up in getting that spot. A YSU win will defintely help UNDs resume and given the next week, they have to go to Brookings, basically all but end ISU Red's playoff hopes. Could the Penguins realistically win out and get to 8-3 even? Now, if ISU Red wins, then their path to 7 is very realistic given they finish the season at home verses Western Illinois. YSU could still get there by beating Mo State and SIU, but would be behind the pecking order of UND and ISU Red if all 3 are at 7-4. SDSU (8-1) @ UNI (5-4) Well look at this, UNI has won 3 in a row and suddenly, their playoff chances are very legitament. The big thing missing is a statement win: Enter SDSU, who has a lot to play for. They can lock up the Valley Title with a win. (Think about this, if UNI had found away to beat UND and ISU Red, losing to both teams by a combined 4 points, this would be for the championship). This is still a win or go home game for UNI, 6-5 isn't enough for them to get in. Now if they pull the upset at home? 7 become very doable with a trip to Verm to end the year and with 2 week to prepare for it. SDSU cannot afford a slip up if they want the road to Frisco to run through Brookings.
  2. Having them win the WAC-ASun auto-bid will be very helpful for UND in their playoff resume.
  3. Congrats UND, you have avoided your first trap. Now prepare for the next one: Road trip to Terre Haute. Plus you got a little help to make your wins against YSU and UNI look a little better.
  4. Got a good thing building at ACU Now go with the WAC.
  5. Yes. Whoever wins the regular season title the previous season.
  6. I think it will be a 10-14 point win for UND. Thinking in the 37-24 range. Not a blowout but a comfortable win
  7. If you think UND got raked across the coals for cutting Women's Hockey during a budget crisis How do you think it will look if NDSU did that while cutting academics to pay for it?
  8. Great comeback. This team has exceeded my wildest expectations.
  9. Montana State and Montana were picked 1 and 2 in the BSC preseason polls, so this will be a challenging road trip for UND.
  10. Going to be a lot of good basketball played in the league this year.
  11. So what does ACU bring to the table this year, it appears that they are having a pretty good year in the WAC.
  12. So do we officially owe Schafer and Kennedy an apology?
  13. Missed this but they wanted to expand it to 96
  14. I'm bringing this thread back up because of this news from Fargo: https://www.inforum.com/news/fargo/ndsu-president-warns-deep-budget-cuts-are-coming Started getting me thinking about UND and their potential situation
  15. I think USD is going to be the most difficult of the three games, especially if they start Bouman at QB.
  16. Win the game. Bottom line
  17. Who had the Seachickens in first place of the NFC West? Geno Smith has to be the frontrunner for comeback player of the year no?
  18. Well if/when Mo State runs away to the Conference USA...
  19. Absolutely. Avoid the traps. Starts next week at home against AC.
  20. Lots of interesting matchups in the Valley next weekend, considered the following: In Fargo: NDSU (5-2) clash with ISU Red (5-2). NDSU looking to get back on track while ISU Red is trying to get that big statement win to help their playoff chances. While the expectation is a bounce back win for the Bison... what if they don't? Then they are 5-3 with a trip to Carbondale on the docket? Panic might desend on the streets of Fargo! It isn't the end of the world if ISU Red loses, but getting a statement win would be nice. In Youngstown: USD (2-5) takes on Youngstown (4-3) The Penguins find themselves on a two game winning streak and a chance to get to 5-3 with a win over a Yotes squad coming off a big time win during D-Days. The storyline out of Verm was the replacement of Carson Camp with Aidan Bouman (son of NFL QB Todd Bouman), who sparked the comeback. Is there a QB contraversy brewing? Yotes can't make the playoffs this year but can start the momentum for 2023. YSU has been much improved since their QB switch and could find themselves in the running for a playoff spot if they can win 3 out of their last 4. The last three games could be tough, but they need to focus on this game at home. UND fans would really appreicate a 7 win Penguins team. In Carbondale: SIU (5-3) take on UNI (4-4) Another elimination game for UNI, this time they hit the road against a SIU team coming off a loss at USD. SIU has the best resume outside of NDSU/SDSU for playoffs but that USD loss blemishes the resume a little bit. However, their margins are thin. A loss here makes the game against NDSU more important. UNI needs to win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. If they do? Well then things get interesting... If you are a UND fan, it might not be a bad idea to hope UNI wins out.
  21. I think the Valley finds a way to get 4, but I don't see any more than that. Sky is going to get 5 and the CAA could get 5 as well. *UNI winning out to get to 7-4 will also help.
  22. This is where I am at as well and felt the same way last year against NDSU. UND beat themselves too many times and SDSU took full advantage of every mistake.
  23. Do feel bad for White, guessing he is done for the year.
  24. How they went from a dominate MSU performance to this... makes me think something is going on behind the scenes. The season is already a failure in my eyes because the stars were all aligned for the Gophers to get to Indy and they aren't going. Keeping the Axe and winning the Pig isn't going to change that. Fleck needs to get more playmakers on the outside and USE them...
