2021 Game Day - NDSU vs UND at Alerus Center

With the way the defense was playing, not really surprised. The crowd was so loud, that may have impacted jt -
With volatile oil and farming, they need to be extra careful. Our carelessness is what got us into trouble last year. This is from an article in September https://www.governor.nd.gov/news/burgum-preliminary-revenue-forecast-reaffirms-need-conservative-approach-2019-2021-budget The state used roughly $800 million in reserve funds and transfers to balance the current general fund budget of $4.3 billion – a budget that had already been reduced by an unprecedented $1.7 billion from the previous biennium.

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

It would have 4 Dakota schools and Omaha. That's 5 original NCC schools that were together for like a hundred years. You only need 6 or 7 for an autobid. Rock solid stable IMO. Unless of course someone wants to jump to the Missouri Valley in basketball- 2,150 replies

FBS teams can only offer full rides. Partials don't exist in the world of FBS
-
This is a big deal for the conference and fcs football. The criteria seems to be 1) 2 top teams 2) top notch fan base Not many good non conference games period but this is a home run.
-
Serious? Entertaining game but to act like it's going to spearhead us to National Championships is silly. Heading in the right direction and a better brand of football. Let's wait and see how the season plays out
-
Did Montana lose their QB? I see 2 names in the box score?
-
Serious? The "Carney" comes to Fargo for FREE and gives them exposure you couldn't possibly buy. Fans follow Gameday all over the nation so it brings money into the community. ESPN even covers much of the costs. Worst analogy ever.

The core of 6 solid teams in the ncc; sdsu, usd, ndsu, und, Omaha, and Northern Colorado were pretty kick ass in their D2 days. Seems like which ever team won the conference made it to the Championship That core of teams stuck together for decades. The Dakota schools for a century. Its only a few schools away from gaining NCC type stability in the Summit. But the mvfc is different obviously with Omaha not playing football and UNC and UND in the BSC. It would be like a D1 version of the ncc minus the !@#!$ schools (and some new schools) and a ton of kick ass rivalries that fill the stands

The Gophers improved but they still sucked. 8-5, 4-4 in a down year for the Big Ten. 50% of BCS teams go to a Bowl Game. They had 2 wins vs teams with winning records and that includes a win over a bad Western Illinois team. High school rankings are silly. Tim Brewsters teams according to the experts at rivals had a top 20 recruiting class! Not saying he's going to be a bad player. I'm saying to expect him to be an NFL guy is silly
-
Yes the Big Sky has produced some NFL talent but this kid isnt good enough to play on a bad gophers team so I'm not sure how he could play at the next level.
-
Haskol needs better resources. Can we add a few stories to the Ralph? Maybe get some more granite?
-
Agree but NDSUs success has nothing to do witb us. We dont play them anymore. NDSU has won 11 national championships in 4 different decades and has 2 losing seasons in 50 years. I dont see the cycle turning bad in them. We had very little to do with their success and we don't play them anymore. We need to focus on the Big Sky. Not the NCC or NDSU
-
I think he's a very good player but I think a lot of it is positioning. His mom is on twitter trying to hype him like Lebron calling for #decision Tuesday. We are still his only full ride offer. I'm cautiously optimistic. If he was so good be would have gotten a full ride like the kid they signed a week earlier
-
As a DE maybe. As a DT in a 3-4 no. He isn't the type of guy who absorbs blocks. UNI runs a 4-3 now too so don't count them out
-
I don't think Bison fans are worried at all if you read Bisonville.. We've beaten them before but after losing battle after battle it would be nice to win one. Our biggest advantage besides more scholarships available is playing time. NDSU is stacked at D tackle and Ezra may not be the best at his positon in the current class. I don't think Ezra is a great fit in a 3-4 defense though. Either way I hope we get him.
-
Was expecting to hear some news by now. Personally I think he's ours because I think his mom is calling the shots and paying the bills. If anything we can make NDSU pay more for him. I know we have way more scholarships left and not many verbals. And with all the players leaving the team we should have no problem
-
The kid has a dozen FCS offers. From what I've heard he has his mind set on going to a B1G school. Gophers are high on him but I think he really wants to be a Badger.
-
Of course the place went bonkers. There were rumors that he was leaving with the entire staff in the middle of a playoff run. How would we react if Haskol left at the start of the Frozen 4? In reality the coaches stuck around and it didn't phase them. But how did they respond? They won the whole thing again, put together an impressive coaching staff with Bison roots, and are keeping all the same systems in place. I think they lost a few recruits but they have nearly 20 verbals right now with some great players and are closing things out with the few spots they have left. I would love to snag Ezra but lets face it, it's not going to change much at all just like getting Mollberg didn't change the course of either team. There are plenty of players out there. By parading a few victories here and there we just look like idiots. We're not even in the same league as FU right now and until we accept that and win a meaningful game we need to show some class
-
When you have won 3 straight National Championships, you don't meltdown. You find another player. Besides do you really care what Bisonville thinks. You make us all look like douche bags.
-
Siu lost 3 battles last year alone to NDSU Nathan Tanguay, Grant Morgan, Pierre Gee Tucker,
-
I don't think this is a new philosophy at all. Half the roster is from ND and MN. Michigan would be new territory though.
-
Considering the MVFC only got 2 teams in and had the highest sagarin rating in the FCS, not sure how the Big Sky got 4 in. Head to head SDSU was one of the last to get in and smoked Northern Arizona. Southern Utah proved they were not playoff worthy. Coastal Carolina beat Montana and then NDSU smoked Coastal Carolina. The only team that showed anything is Eastern Washington beating SDSU. I think Northern Iowa, Youngstown State, Illinois State, and Southern Illinois would have faired better than Southern Utah and Northern Arizona... and those 4 teams missed the playoffs. The playoff committee is clueless
-
Not sure why a head coach has to be a coordinator? It's a completely different skill set. Does Craig Bohl call plays? He doesn't even coach a position anymore. A head coach is basically the face of the program and an administrator. This isn't high school. For that reason, Bollinger makes sense. First off he is a UND GUY so he will be here for the long run. We need stability. Fans love him and will remind them of better times. Tibesar is probably the best on paper but he's not going to leave the Bears. Hazelton? The guy has as much personality and fire as my basset hound. Is he really a midwest guy? He left for USC. And NDSU's defense improved after he left Caruso? D3 head coach who missed the playoffs?
-
Caruso? He didn't even make the D3 playoffs.Need a D1 coach. Bollinger.
