It's kinda dumb, they spends a ton of money on flood protection along the river and waste a ton of money by not digging the Alerus into the ground and being able to spend the saved money elsewhere.
-
Is that why ice level is below ground?

Montana St Game........ Thats Montana St not NDSU

I actually think this game could be a very good one. Like under a 7 point game with alot of points. The MSU QBs tiny carne hands will still be their downfall though. -
You're the reason we lost to Poly and NAU. You need to go to the SUU game so we can win and watch a QB break another passing record.

So there's a big game tomorrow, a real big game. UND is coming off of a half impressive win over teh Griz and the offense looks pretty formidable especially without 3 TOs. They'll probably try their best to sit back in zone coverage and defend the pass. This will allow Sutton Miller and Garmin to have nice games and the hogs love run blocking in the cold weather. Hanson will throw for around 350 yards and 3 TDs while the run game goes for 200+ yards and 2 scores and runs the clock and the life out of teh Catz. Their QB has tiny carne hands and won't be able to throw anything other than ints in the cold. He will throw 3 of them on the day along with 2 TDs. They will run the ball well but the D will toughen up in the cold and learn how to tackle again. We're gonna fly in from Grand Forks.... Over to Bozeman..... we're gonna get some rest... we've gonna eat some food.... watch some movies.... get some more sleep.... eat some more food.... warm up for the game... and we're gonna pound the life out of the cats and their fans will go home with their tails between their legs and we're gonna win the damn game 41 - 34 and win the rest of the games and not make the playoffs.............. -
We all knew the underlined portion without you posting it just based on your previous 'opinions' And yes we were playing alot of lower division teams, which will never satisfy fans or make for a good game. Also a few of those classes were pretty devoid of any offensive talent and defensive speed. To go from the high flying burning fast '07 team to the one in '09 was a little hard to see. Had we produced a better product on the field and played more D1 teams during the transition attendance would not have gotten as bad as it was last year. Even NDSU experienced a drop in attendance in their first two years out of the transition as they failed to reach any expectations and had a terrible 3-8 season that sent Fargo reeling. Look at where NDSU is now relative to '09. We can do that with two deep playoff runs the next two years.
-
Didn't seem to bother attendance five years ago and before that. The product on the field drove fans away to watch paint dry and rake leaves because those were more entertaining. It'll change.

The und trophy for post season champs would be appropriate. Just a giant metal nd logo on a big wooden slab with each champion on a little metal engraving.

As far as WRs are concerned this year, I hope they recruit a burner or two, Hardin will be a senior next year and I'm not sure any of the younger WRs will be able to take the top off like him.

They're going to bring in at least one qb. You can't get by with only two QBs on scholarship. Hanson would be a third body but not a realistic option. They need at least one FR or a transfer this year to add depth. I have full confidence that Mollberg will be the man. He's got a really strong arm but has the ability to change speeds when he needs and has great touch. Not accurate like Hanson yet but he certainly could be, after all ESPN rated Mollberg as a 74 and rated Hanson as a 73 coming out of highschool, and that's with Mollberg playing in a run first scheme. The kid is already built like a Mac truck for a FR QB and will be able to physically handle it right away.

I did. Psychology.

I'm assuming you've got the wrong guy. I haven't been to Florida since I was about 11 on a vacation. Other than five years spent at the ol AC getting a second degree I've lived in GF.

He learned the offense so defense will be cake by comparison

Enough all ready. We get it, you're a hockey guy. Thanks to some incredible foresight by this forums creator there is a hockey thread where you can talk about how petty other sports are and how the hockey team didn't lose to a crappy Alaska team. Good thing they play a big time program in Alaska Anchorage this weekend so you don't have to spoil any moments of your splendid fringe sport filled life with football. Have a nice weekend.

All 120 lbs of Ivery were flying to the ball. It was awesome to see someone out there play that way. Why was it a converted WR?
-
McGill will start. He's always open and run outstanding routes. It's a no brainer. The depth will only push the young guys to be better and in turn the next guys and the next guys. It's how it should be at every position.

A place for people to argue about NDSU and UND

Your parents must have had one hell of a time explaing air to you as a child. -
How bout this for a hypothesis, Fargo/NDSU has always been about football and Grand Forks/UND has been about hockey. Perhaps that along with 5 years of crap in a row would point to the attendance woes?

pretty bold statement, perhaps you should reconsider that thought -
Opposed to them leaving and not coming back in? Sounds like no difference to me.

Thanks for showing that you guys actually care and shedding light on the work you guys have done to step it up. Do you think the volume issue at the Alerus is a lack of willingness to crank it or just old speakers that can't handle it? Also as far as the intro goes I'm not sure the team really gets amped by the current one, although it is an improvement over older versions. I don't think we should be scared of a little rap for the players to get juiced up with in the intro. Also some smoke outside the helmet with green strobe lights as they walk into the helmet would look awesome. Just show that on the screen with some good music instead of the back in black intro. The intro was improved this year but has a ways to go. As far as student/ fan participation goes why not have a 'contest' where on each side a third of the sections have a U and then the next sections have an N and then the other group of sections have a D and then have a booming U-------N---------D U-----N-----D U--N--D chant that people could get into. How bout a signature song or two like Wisconsin does with their Jump Around after the 3rd quarter? Dry run at hockey games and carry over to other sports? Also, do you guys have any influence with the Alerus and their policy to not allow tailgaters to leave at half and come back in? I feel like the students and other fans would love that. Get some good food and something to drink at half and go back in to watch the rest of the game. I and others loved the UND version of Hard Knocks that you guys did, we wants more..... I realize the limitations of staff but something simple like getting to know position groups and the traditions of each would be a great way to get to know the guys on the team. What about an all sports pep rally the first week of school at the Betty of the Englestad and show highlights of the previous season and hype the coming seasons for the freshman and other students? I think just overall making sports like football and basketball seem more 'big time' than the perception is at the time would make it seem worth the students time to check out and get involved in.

No playoffs, is it even worth it for him to play?
