  1. He could be the real deal. Plus we have an in with his dad bring a former player I believe.

I recorded the game and watched it again. The defense hardly ever blitzed and played pretty conservative overall. I assume Kotelnicki being the smart dude he is was not willing to show his best cards for sdsu to have on film when he knew full well they didn't need it to win.

And the year before their defense sucked. Alot can improve in a year if a couple guys step up.

Timing. Had we moved up at the same time they wouldn't have had the pick of the litter with recruits along with NDSU. We were behind the 8 ball up until this last class with recruiting against them and ndsu. Now that we are starting to look more like a D1 program the cream of the crop recruits from common areas shared by the dakota schools will be dispersed between the 4 schools instead of those two taking them all. Basically we screwed the pooch on timing and its set us back at least 5 years and we're just now getting out of that.
  5. He's 240 for a reason. He lifts extra. That's why he broke the wr squat record as a rs fr.
  6. I'm not worried. He's not hurt. He'll be one of the best wrs in the league this year. Just wait a little longer and watch him play.
  7. I've never been so excited for UND to play a terrible team. I'm about ready to run through a brick wall for this season to start already.
  8. Balance is the key to keeping a good defense off balance. We need to be able to run and pass against them to keep them honest. They're too good to be one dimensional against. But I do agree that our big advantage over them will be our WR, the likes of which they don't see in their run oriented conference.
  9. What was Wayne Nelson's prediction?
  10. Their RB is 5'6" 180. I wonder what our DL will do to him when they get their hands on him.
  11. Drake had a good team by their standards that year and our offense was awful that year. Valpo is the lowest of the low in that league and our offense will have favorable matchups all over the field. If we want 50 by half we'llhave 50 by half. Their offense doesn't have the athletes to trouble our d.
  12. Offenseive MVPs Shaugabay and Golladay Leading rusher Shaugabay Leading passer Bartels Leading receiver Golladay Breakout star? Shaugabay Defensive MVPs Edwards and Rattelle Leading tackler Rattelle Leading Sacker Cummings Breakout star? Butler
  13. You mean we don't get them every year? Playing Manitoba should give us a pipeline to the best bed of hockey talent in the world shouldn't it? How come we haven't landed one since Toews? All I see on the roster are Canadian leftovers.
  14. Answer the question. We're talking cream of the crop here.
  15. Really? Other than Toews who was our last Canadian 1st rounder?
  16. Recruiting them and landing them are two different things. Where do all the top Canadians play before the pros?
  17. Apparently the best recruiting tool these days is more games and money which is why major juniors are taking all the best players.
  18. Offenseive MVPs (2) Leading rusher Leading passer Leading receiver Breakout star? Defensive MVPs (2) Leading tackler Leading Sacker Breakout star?
  19. There are a lot of ways to digest these numbers. The big thing that stands out is dropping over 2000 yards in 2008 with no Ryan Chappell. We are still trying to catch up on RB depth since he left the team. Josh Murray compounded the depth chart situation with his similar issues. With the departure of Chappell we had to push Murray into duty before he was fully developed and ready. When Murray had to sit out we were forced to throw Sutton into the fire before he was fully developed which carried on down to Miller and Garmin getting shirts pulled. In two years I feel we will finally be out of the weeds with our RB situation that was started in 2008 with the removal of Chappell after only 3 years in the program. 2008 was also our first year of D1. Even though the schedule wasn't all D1 all the time it still makes a difference to go from bullying teams to going against teams that can actually matchup with you in the trenches. There was also a drop off in talent on the team this year. Our OL is also not quite what it used to be. They aren't as big as they were when we pounded the rock. This appears to be changing with the size of the younger OL on the roster now. So was it that the team went soft? Not exactly. They just weren't as good. Did the philosophy change? Not really. The personnel didn't allow for the coaches to pound the rock the way they would like. Last season wasn't a chuck and duck offense like it has been made out to be. We could throw so we did. We ran against average teams and didn't against good teams. If we get leads in games we will run the ball more and the yards and carries will go up.
  20. In 2012 we ran for 1467 yards on 349 attempts for a 4.2 ypc avg. In 2011 we ran for 1627 yards on 430 attempts for a 3.8 ypc avg. In 2010 we ran for 1657 yards on 386 attempts for a 4.3 ypc avg. In 2009 we ran for 1324 yards on 354 attempts for a 3.7 ypc avg. In 2008 we ran for 1458 yards on 347 attempts for a 4.2 ypc avg. In 2007 we ran for 3878 yards on 545 attempts for a 5.3 ypc avg. In 2006 we ran for 2055 yards on 435 attempts for a 4.7 ypc avg.
  21. The first game skewed our stats a bit. It seemed like we couldn't run the ball last year because we struggled to when we needed it at times. We only ran effectively against mines sac and the first drive at EWU. I still think last year we ran the ball more and better than people think.
  22. You mean to tell me some rap songs are about getting intoxicated? What is the music world coming to? Gone are the days of pure clean music like we had in the 90's 80's 70's 60's 50's est.
  23. They had an energy drink too. Crinkly juice I believe.
  24. Pretty athletic and pretty bad at QB. Kid can't throw. Unless he worked miracles on his throwing over the summer he's gonna handcuff that team with his inaccuracy.
  25. To be fair there wasn't really anyone behind him that was ready. Had there been, Mersereau would have been handing out waters after a couple games. The depth is better this year and the younger guys are ready now. Had Kuksa and Reyes been here last year they would have started.
