Looking at the breakdown of recruiting there is alot to like and some that needs improvement. I love how hard we hit WI and IL. They each are loaded with hard nosed players each year that know how to play the game the right way. I'd like to see more offers (if the quality of player is there) in ND, nobody will work harder for the program than an ND kid. If I had to choose between an ND kid and a kid from anywhere else and they were comparable talent wise I'd go ND every time because you can bank on the ND kid reaching closer to his full potential more often. I'd also like to see more recruitment of SD, Digger Anderson anyone? They are alot like ND kids only there are more of them. Out of all the non midwest states we have offers in, the only one I'm comfortable with is AZ. All the other states haven't given us much more than headaches. I'd just as soon never recruit FL and CA because we can find great athletes in the midwest as evidence by the fastest guys on the team being from the midwest. Overall our recruiting footprint is better than people think but I'd like a few more Dakota kids thrown in there.

What about scratch Mattson? He was awful again. He's been in a funk for most a full year. -

I really like Ausmus. He's a strapping young dude. He moves really well also. Odonnel played tonight? He might as well have been in the stands. Stetcher looked pretty good on the puck. Johnson looked really good. Tambellini had bright spots but wasn't anything special. Ladue was solid. I'm still waiting for Rocco to explode, there isn't a player that can skate with him. -

Johnson looks pretty slick. The team as a whole doesn't look like #7 in the nation. They are young though... -

Why can't our pp look like Minnesotas? -

I wish the helmet had something for contrast instead of being all the same color. Maybe an nd logo would make it work? -
Holloween is coming up I'm sure you could make due.

I'd like to try and keep this thread about a hypothetical scenario. Use the fire muss thread for your discussion or start a fire mackey thread.

So if UND wins.....? There are plenty of places to talk about the teams shortcommings. That's why I pulled this question out of my ass. It's a nice change of pace.
-
All the more reason for it to stop.

This is extremely hypothetical since I feel like EWU will cream UND. But lets just pretend that UND comes out of nowhere and wins. In order for that to happen we'd obviously have very few penalties and win the TO battle. So, if UND beats EWU does that change anything? Does Mussman still need to go if EWU goes down in front of the homecoming crowd or has the damage already been done? I realize it's a stretch to think about this being a possibility but I'm just curious what people would do/think if this actually happened.

I'll guarantee the defense will be statistically better than last years. That was my main point going into the year. You might as well break it down for everything I've been wrong on. And my word on the fr and rfr comes from very good sources that would know.

He had an excited to see what this class does tweet and another fr lb tweeted national champions.

Check out Norbergs twitter.

Not really. Otherwise they probably would. It looks dumb and awkward to see student slapping the chairs and craning their necks to watch the play.
-
I could go on but I chose to with the OL since you mentioned that and since Kuksa started yesterday and Iverson has made a big impact at FB. The class is pretty loaded. I also didn't mention Meindell who is one hell of a true fr punter who has run for 2 first downs on terrible snaps this year. It's alot more than 5. Everyone I've talked to said this true fr class has a different look to them and has a real attitude(in a good way). They bust their ass every day.
-
Stockwell was probably the top OL recruit by any Dakota school last year. Bell was highly recruited as well. Mussman described Miller as 'a mauler'. Iverson and Kuksa have already made an impact and have shown grit. This true fr class is something special.

Did anyone see souths rb tear up central? He seems like one we should be after.

It's a generational thing. Pathetic on their part. This is an issue at highschools too. Participation is way down everywhere and it seems like student fans are more interested in checking some obscure celebrities twitter than being apart of one of the best parts of the college experience. Also of note: students at UND please stop the stupid slapping of the seats on 3rd down and other times when you're trying to be loud. It's awkward and not as loud as jumping around cheering and just going crazy like you do at hockey games.

I thought the defense looked better with Kuksa starting.
