  1. I didn't see the jackass dancing on the sidelines but either a fellow fr should have said something or an upperclassman should have laid into him. The coaches have to focus on the game and on the players who are playing they can't be worried about how the fr are acting. But if they do happen to see it I would expect them to end it quickly
  2. What if the young man has undiagnosed ADHD or a learning disorder. I remember a story about former NFL great DT Pat Williams. He basically couldn't read in college which made him unable to get good grades or learn a playbook. He's a smart man so it wasn't intelligence that was holding him back. As it turns out he had some disorder that made it almost impossible to read off of white paper. They found out that he was able to read just fine off of red paper and he got good grades from then on. Sometimes issues with grades are more complex than just either they aren't smart or they don't care. We don't know why a guy has trouble in school so a blanket statement about someone's intelligence without the full story is just plain not fair to that person. Don't get me wrong, grades should be priority number one since most of these guys will need that education after football even if they are in the .1% that goes pro.
  3. How narrow minded of you.
  4. Dont even try is in reference to showing story lines. They skim the surface on some stuff but for the most part just recap the games.
  5. Keeping grades up is more about effort than intelligence. Most people are smart enough to maintain at least a C average in college if they want to.
  6. I'm talking about overall caliber of recruits as being outstanding in the last two classes. Just look at them compared to the three previous classes. It's not even close. Just look at the LB recruits we have that are tFR and rsFR. Tons of potential. Also Kuksa has shown some good ability in his limited role.
  7. I'm pretty sure they have more man power but still. It does seem to be a little higher. I'm not sure why they can't manage once a week or even every other week. Maybe Jayson can't elaborate on that. What I don't like is that there are good story lines they could work on and they don't even try. That would get people to watch ala Hard Knocks.
  8. Just look at the 2 most recent classes. The only position they haven't done an outstanding job on is CB with those two classes. Though maybe Konalowsi will be a player, he showed signs before he didn't keep his grades up.
  9. C. The answer is mustache.
  10. Doesn't that feel a little better at least.
  11. We need to get you some Mydol or something. I get that you're pissed about the last two games as am I, but the season isn't over yet and the team deserves support.
  12. Mays too right?
  13. Two hours til opening drive. Something positive to focus on for a change.
  14. Not talent wise. Babich's last class was the real deal.
  15. Bump. Tonight.
  16. Bartels will always get some first team reps. Not a lot but some. That's how Marcus Hendrickson was able to be successful last year. He had enough reps with the first team to have enough chemistry to succeed.
  17. The exactly what Mussman said they were doing.
  18. Guys need to be fresh for MSU. Days off are needed otherwise the bye week is useless. Goodman needs to get healthy and so does Rattelle among others.
  19. Good for him. Hopefully he can climb the list. I absolutely cannot wait to see his class on the ice.
  20. Even better than that would be if the younger guys earn the spot by not only being a better athlete but by producing better and knowing the scheme just as well or better.
  21. Saban is a good X's and O's guy but he is a great mentality guy. That's what really sets him apart. The SEC is full of talent but his mentality bleeds into his players and the whole program demands absolute perfection. My favorite clip of Saban was from last year I believe and they had the scrubs in against Ol Miss or somebody and they were killing them. One of the player committed a stupid penalty that gave the other team a meaningless 1st down and Saban pulled the guy out of the game and laid into him like I've never seen Saban lay into a guy before. In front of the whole team with the game in hand he exploded over a very unimportant play in that game. It sent a message though. 100% of the time you better do your damn job or else. It reminded me of my old Central coach Mike Berg. He'd do the same thing and man does that send a powerful message.
  22. VandeVelde was one of my favorites at UND. Great player that didn't have alot of hype around him.
  23. New opening drive on Thursday. Get excited everyone.
  24. Kinda have to throw out those stats for the team through these first 3 games. Can't run the ball when you're done big if you want to come back like against SDSU. Schleusner has shown early in games that he wants to try and run but scraps it either because the line isn't getting it done or we get down and have to catch up in a hurry. Hopefully we can manage a more balanced offense against MSU but I won't hold my breath since even though they don't have their top 2 LBs from last year they have a good dline.
  25. Anyone who seriously believes that is an idiot. I understand that some of you are down of the program right now but really? 500 offers? No offense but how dumb are some of you? I also heard UND takes every recruit to McDonalds and shows them the Dave Berry lift station before they go over the list of the 75 other players at the recruits position that they've offered. They then tell the recruit that they'll take anything at this point and if he has any suggestions for who else they can offer. So really 500 is on the low end.
