Nobody let us back in the game. We made plays late and you guys didn't until the pick. It only appeared that your coaches were being conservative because our defense was stopping you guys and our offense was shredding your secondary even though they knew we had to pass every time.

Just to keep things grounded. The 2011 team was one of the least penalized teams in the nation and had an outstanding run defense and few turnovers. We also couldn't throw that year and ran a million times into 9 man fronts. I'm just saying that was also a Mussman team. I know you don't like him but the facts are facts.
  3. Defiantly. I love that he had the balls to bomb that thing Favre style. He just needs to keep that in his back pocket most of the time.
  4. I'm not gonna go into it since I heard about it before the MRI but it'll be a while most likely.
  5. Joe just threw it up there and let Greg go get it. It's not a good habit but its a shot you should take from time to time with great WRs. I think mussman probably just doesn't want Joe to think that it will work out so well every time. At the end of the day it was one hell of a throw and catch that kept us in the game.
  6. Maybe they were thinking Bartels would be safer to go with this year and not about who would be better long term. I'm sure they're thinking playoffs this season. Mollberg showed that he is just as viable now so I hope they stick with him.
  7. I think you stick with Mollberg unless he has a terrible game and needs to be yanked even if he was a 5th year senior. Even when Bartels made plays his throws were as good as Joes were. Bartels had Hardin for a long TD but threw outside instead of leading him inside the way the route goes. Also his INT was a terrible decision. They each had too much pressure from rushers but Mollberg was still able to make things happen and throw while off balance. Mollberg also has a much faster release and puts more zip on the ball which is harder on the defense to react to. The final and most important reason to go with Mollberg is his upside. It's 10X what Bartels is. Look at how far Jensen has come at NDSU. Imagine Mollberg after 3 years of starting going into his senior season.
  8. I feel like you think I'm happy with last nights results. I was pissed after the game over how we wasted a prime opportunity. We could have put them away early with a td instead of the int. we could have also won had the defense played angry like they were at the end. I'm trying to take the positives out of it now since that's all you can do after a tough loss. This Montana game is huge.
  9. The 8-3 season was an accomplishment. That team won ugly alot of times and only had one bad game (Idaho where they did lead at the half). I agree about the trenches though....the oline needs to be able to move people and they didn't last night. The only DL I saw for us moving people and making plays was Edwards.
  10. Just look at the linemen we recruited this past class. Plus Anderson is a stud and only a true soph. Kleason was terrible last night. He's a better tackle than that. I can't wait til we see Miller Stockwell and Bell in there along with Adams too.
  11. It's possible. SDSU is better than both. And both EWU and MSU were better last year.
  12. A great example of the plan working and players not quite executing was the multiple 3rd downs where Kotelnicki sent the dogs and they let sumner dance around just long enough to get a throw off. I liked the way Kotelnicki called the game. I'm not sure what the audible situation was on the Bartels INT but there were two high safeties. With that defense you can't really try a deep crossing route. They should have run on that play.
  13. Not nearly as mobile. I feel like McGee is trying to prove he's a passer so he'll at least hang around. Adams will take off at any instant and sometimes get an unorthodox throw off that is impossible to plan for.
  14. EWU worries me because of the QB. Really mobile QBs kill us. Even did in 2001, Johnson from Omaha.......
  15. See post 486.

Shaugs could have been the answer in my opinion. Feed that kid. He is hungry.
  17. Can't disagree with this. I'm confident 6-5 won't happen.
  18. The players that won for Bohl early would have been FR for Babich and not yet starting/contributing.
  19. Basically Hakstol was handed talent up the ass and made it close but never actually won. Mussman inherited nothing and won that GWC with a team that lacked talent all over the place. Still not a national championship but they were not eligible at the time (not saying they would have since they didn't have enough D1 wins). My main point is. Mussman has gotten a bad wrap from the start. For no reason really. Hakstol was anointed after making it far but not getting the job done with Blais' players. Why is that? Who knows. Maybe Mussman needs to grow a mustache.
  20. Talent inherited. Muss inherited almost nothing for talent. Bohl had a full cupboard. Bohl then blew it and then fixed it. Mussman has had to build from scratch.
  21. My bad I was talking about the end of the post with hockey involved. Hakstol to Muss. 0-0.

We actually had some decent runs on the first two drives. After that it was non existent.
  23. And how many national championships has either won?
  24. I'm sure Zenner was getting a little tired. We also started to stop the run so maybe they thought they could catch us off guard with throws. They had a couple openings late in the game on passes that were either dropped or miss fired. Is it possible that the players for SDSU got buried by big Mo? Their whole team was on their heals for a while in the 4th cause we were steam rolling them out of nowhere. I think the reason it looked like the coach took his foot off the gas was because they were getting stopped.
  25. On offense they did the same stuff. Our D just showed up and stopped them. They softened up on D and then we started rolling and there was nothing they could do other than the late INT. They were still aggressive on offense on their drives when we stopped them.
