  1. So funny watching Santiago get a push against these guys. Just a little guy, but a ton of momentum.
  2. Very impressive run D so far! They're holding the line really well.
  3. Wondering about Zane's time in Providence (Boston.) I saw that Khudobin signed with Dallas and thought that would open the door for Zane to backup Rask. But Boston just signed Halak, so that's out. Stats weren't too bad last year. Maybe it's just a year or two early for him to get a shot?
  4. That was an ongoing joke about Pogo, that he never celebrates goals. He was made fun of during the You Sit segment by other players. But I'll agree a little bit. Emotional leadership is important. None of us really know what that was like in the locker room, though.
  5. Could be different reasons for everyone. Maybe team leadership. Yes, frustrating for fans, and I'm sure for the guys busting it every night.
  6. The break out is not a problem when guys are skating hard. The D are very capable of making quick plays to move the puck. But there was about zero sustained offensive zone time last night. Guys were just not going for whatever reason. Win tonight however is necessary and move on...again.
  7. Cam was fantastic to start this year, before his injury. As far as being dialed-in, to me it was the best he's looked in any of his seasons. I think Thome will be a solid G, but Denver seriously exposed his weakness (lateral movement) for eight goals in those two games. He's gotten enough time for us to feel confident going into next year without Cam. But this year, if Cam is healthy, he needs to be in net down the stretch.
  8. A little out of order for The Hornberger System (for anyone who knows 30 Rock, first two aren't great, third is your pick, fourth reaffirms how good the third was) but they got their guy. Good luck Bill, UND fans are a ravenous bunch!
  9. Thome made all of about one challenging save last night. Bob would've gotten that shutout as well. Cam starts Friday, and I'm sure he'll be dialed in.
  10. Last season in a pair of shutouts http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPSID=58682&SPID=6405&Q_SEASON=2016
  11. Yeah I have the same issue with a brand new Roku Ultra wired into 120mbps internet. It's more of a small stutter periodically. Image quality never wavers from highest though. No other app behaves this way, and no other app has as much of a delay from live. But it's not enough for me to complain. I'm sure it'll improve. The apps are still relatively new, and I'm not sure if they make any mid-season adjustments. Great series for UND. I was surprised that it wasn't nearly as chippy as Friday, but I'd attribute that to good coaching. UND was the aggressor all night, and finished strong. Great preparation for SCSU.
  12. I'm surprised how wide open that game was. WMU used to play a lot tighter, more like we saw last week. It was fun to watch, but there were a lot of dangerous hits on both sides. Since Western was so passive in the kill early, UND was able to setup some pretty sweet looking plays. Adams reminds me a bit of Caggiula. Not the same motor, but an elite shot, and clutch scoring. As with a couple other freshmen this year, he could be a great four-year college player. Kawaguchi appears to be catching up to the game as well.
  13. Yep, I saw that article and thought the same thing. Bennett pointed out that their goalies are getting a lot more help than they were to start the season. I was optimistic with the way our D were able to get shots on net at such high percentages early on. But our forwards have not shown the tenacity to go after rebounds and bury chances with any consistency. I guess it makes sense with the makeup of the team. They'll be fine in March, but it can be tough to watch in the learning stages.
  14. Kupsky didn't have to stop many grade-As all weekend due to Union's F and D packing it in so tight. I bet WMU would play a similar game in front of their own net.
  15. As others have said (a lot) in this thread, the Smith call was an easy 2 min, but major...probably not, especially if Plant springs right up. But go back and look at the JJ elbowing call. That should've been an easy 5 with direct elbow-to-head contact. I thought major penalties were reviewable, and they probably could've taken the time to do so on these two. It wouldn't have helped our cause much, but might've taken some of the questioning away from us fans. I agree though about Smith, he could not get out of his own way this weekend. Four penalties in a little over a game of work...he might have to sit a game this week.
  16. Those games are just the best...and when they happen against Denver...
  17. Unlike the championship year, this year Cam is our established, experienced #1 goalie. Thome is just keeping his net warm, and doing such a good job that they don't have to rush Cam back. Having two guys that are playing well is such a luxury.
  18. Oof, obviously don't remember in the heat of the moment, but Bucci's pbp call was atrocious for that goal. It basically went like this: "Boeser wins it, shot to the net blocked, boesergetsbackhannetghghghgh SCORE." But, we've gone down the announcing rabbit hole enough so I won't go there. Getting excited for the next chapter in this great rivalry, starting Friday!
  19. When nchc.tv first started, almost all of DU's home games were not available. That seems to have changed this year, which is great! I also watched the Friday DU/SCSU game after UND's ended. As much as some others want to think Monty's a great guy, I still don't like him. His comments about how much better his Maine team was in their title game sound pretty cocky. And his "congrats" to UND was more like "it just confirmed to me that our game with them was the real national title game"...as if QU wasn't #1 or 2 most of the year. Confidence gets you a long way in sports, though, and clearly he's doing well.
  20. Miami was a good opponent to play before DU. They play extremely fast, but don't have the top end finishers they used to. DU does, and UND will need to play at full speed all weekend while staying defensively sound. I think if Olson or Hoff are healthy they play over Kawaguchi, at least the first night. He made a few bad turnovers last night, one leading directly to Miami's first goal. His energy is improving, but overall game isn't quite there yet. Plus, Yon looked impressive enough to stay in the lineup for now. I'll be missing this series for the first time in a few years, but will be watching from home. Bring home a win or two, boys!
  21. After the first nsin definitely ratcheted up the shots, but there weren't a lot of grade As. Thome only really looked shaky on the awkward shots after settling in. Very solid road/top-10 win!
  22. 15 mins before the game... That's cold!
  23. These games won't be available on BTN Plus. Only non-televised games, or games that indicate BTN Plus on the schedule are.
  24. I thought after they made adjustments on Sat against the gophers/Shierhorn, they'd be ok against great goalies going forward. That night, PPs aside, was a template for solving hot goalies. Move the puck laterally through the zone, make quick plays, get shots through traffic. Then they had no urgency in their game on Friday against CC. As long as they play with pace tonight, they'll be fine. Score early, Schloss is right on with his keys.
  25. Well, I think I'm set with Midco, but in digging a bit deeper I found the FAQ: So since these are televised games, and they don't indicate BTN Plus next to the schedule, that subscription would not be the way to go.
