If your team needs something like this to motivate them against a rival and the fact that they have been getting the s#*t kicked out of them by this rival since the switch to D1 isn’t enough to motivate them it says a lot about your staff and players.
I wouldn't call 2021 a sh*t-kicking, but other than that... agreed.

Well he's been there for a few years

A change that needs to come from this, at minimum, is the conference commissioner (or appointee) reps the conference, not the AD of 1 school.

Is there a way to make directed donations to specific programs currently?
Yes. https://undalumni.org/schools-and-colleges
You can choose a unit on this page, athletics for example. Then select "sports funds" and select your sport from the drop-down.

Credit to Chaves. Shame on the committee.

So, two D-II schools and UND?
Entirely possible they've offered more money as well. Similar to UND offering a scholarship to someone that an FBS offered a PWO to.

Yes, the team did itself no favors in those games, but we still had the high bid. By the criteria in use for a decade+, we should've hosted.

Yes its quite appearent that people abroad in JJJJINA and more locally are quick to copy what sells.... cause it sells.
Yes... not necessarily the person(s) themselves of course.
Theres no South GF based task force thats leaving the neighborhood and enforcing trademarks.... although using an old Sioux helmet styled bullpen cart batcar style would be hilarious to see circling the development.
It's holding companies or firms working on behalf of the registrar that do the dirty work on this stuff.
Usually C&D letters are quite common and the extent of things I'd imagine, sometimes try to sucket the "offenders" into a small (couple grand) "usage fee" for it to go away.
See above.
Because it sells... quite frankly.
Easily
If its fur lined velvet... licensed or not I'm going in deep on this one. Sign me up for the next order.
I hope UND has the rights to NODAK and not some bad actor.

How realistic is it to have a revamped FCS selection format by 2023? Is there enough of a stink being made about '22 that off-season coaches meetings, etc. will spur change? Seeding 16 teams seems like the obvious solution.
I'd think having a solid, written format would be difficult, but I guarantee the committee will prioritize differently in 2023 than they did this year (they always do).

Based on the seeding and placement criteria, it seems going 8-3 would have had us in the exact same situation.
At 8-3 the committee might respect the bid.

I could see the day where UND has a good enough season to be considered for a seed but just outside the 8 seeds like Weber. But if that happens I will bet the NCAA sends us on the road anyway. They will come up with a different excuse then.
We have hosted 2 playoff games, including 1 in which we were seeded, so we can pump the conspiracy theory brakes a little bit. We did get screwed this year thanks to playoff committee membership.

We go back to the BSC?

You’re not wrong, but still think seeding the teams based on performance is better way than basing it on bids.
Agreed. Montana would've been the #16 seed this year (and every year they make the field).

Was there a reported bid that was higher from anyone else? Montana?
Haven't heard about Montana's, but according to TM, we were higher than NDSU if they had needed a first round bid. I'd consider that pretty solid/aggressive considering the attendance disparity.

Coach Stiegelmeier's first 7 look familiar.
I trust there MUST have been several SDSU fans unhappy with his team's performance.
And to be clear, I'm not happy with the last 7 years here either. Just not seeking the guillotine yet.

Was there ever an expectation for them to be good? According to wikipedia they only ever made the playoffs once prior to the FCS transition and lost their first game (in 1979).

I completely agree with this, and it’s a disgrace. Another reason to hate that cow institute in Fargo. What goes around comes around, though, thankfully.
As an aside, though, because of this corruption, the FCS playoff committee definitely needs to seed the top 16 teams. Take this stupid bidding process out of it.
Then it'll be a corrupt seeding process.
