I am not sure if this is apples to apples as I don't fully understand how UND and 1883 collective are tied together but ..... a number of years ago I was involved in raising some money for the UND engineering department.  We were told at that time that UND took 10% off the top of all donations that went through the UND foundation.  Donations that went straight to the engineering department avoided that.

Assume you meant the Foundation takes a 10% cut, not UND.

    That’s called planning.

The skyway would cost $4million minimum today. It cost about $1.2million when it was installed.

$1.3 million invested in the S&P 500 in 2006 is worth $5.6 million today

I would be Trey is gone - just thinking time with family and a million dollars is more important than a few credits.

Is academic eligibility still a thing or are we completely done pretending some of these guys are college students?

    This.....^^^

But we both know in 10 years our property taxes will be well above what we are paying now. Not less and definitely not eliminated.

Unfortunately you're probably right.  We'll have prettier schools, jails, and hockey arenas though ;)

In a state that has less than 1M citizens how can the state government justify sitting on $11 billion for a effing rainy day? Nothing but retards on both sides of the isle in Bismarck.

The Legacy Fund was established by vote of the state's residents.  Personally I like the current idea of using the investment income from it to buy down and eventually eliminate residential property taxes.

  6. Ndsu is given $100 million by the state for ag research and extension. UND gets $0 from the state specifically for med research. When federal grants require matching funds, it makes a difference.

Looks like UND put out a feeler for a P3 project in the NW corner of campus, near the old Dunder.

    Goal and Background Information

"The following background information is intended to help respondents understand the needs of the UND.

The University of North Dakota (“UND” or “University”) seeks interest in the development of
university land, either under a long-term ground lease or through a direct land purchase from
UND. The Development Site (“3A”) is located on 6th Avenue North on the south side of the street
between North 42nd Street and the vacated State Street, one block west of Stanford Rd. The 3A
Development Site is approximately twenty acres.

The 3A Site will either be one large development parcel or could be broken out into smaller
individual parcels upon consultation with and approval by UND Leadership. A Defined “phased”
approach to development will be considered. Approximately half of 3A is vacant and ready for
development, while the remainder currently has five existing multi-family residential apartment
    buildings (see Figure 1).

With interest, a subsequent request will be released with greater detail obtained following the
    results of this request."

Since they're going up everywhere these days, this could be a great location for a senior living facility if UND isn't going to use it.  College athletics, other events, and workforce all nearby.
