My dream scenario: EWU loses to Montana and Cal Poly. Finishes 8-3 = playoffs Montana loses to 2 teams not named EWU. NAU and UNC are most likely (still pretty slim). Finishes 8-3 = playoffs - SECOND LEAST LIKELY TO ACTUALLY HAPPEN Cal Poly loss to Weber. Cal Poly wins all other games. Finishes 8-3 = playoffs Weber wins every game except against UND. Finishes 8-3 = playoffs - THIRD LEAST LIKELY TO ACTUALLY HAPPEN SUU loses to Weber and BYU. Finishes 6-5 = DONE.... Sorry, hacks. USD wins 4/5 (very tall order). Finishes 7-4 = playoffs (we've seen an MVFC team can sneak in at 6-5 too) - LEAST LIKELY TO ACTUALLY HAPPEN Stony Brook wins out. Finishes 9-2 = CAA Champs and playoffs UND wins out. Sounds good. With him being regarded as such a great talent, I was a little concerned about why other teams may be avoiding him. Sounds like he has great potential.

He'd be a huge get. But we do already have 3 DL commits and DL is one of the deepest positions on the team (and it should be, with how we rotate there). Time to bring in some more OL and "skill position" guys. We have 10 commits now - 2 DEs, 1 NG, 3 LBs, 1 QB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 1 OL. Hold on tight to these guys. I'd like to see 2-3 CBs, 3-4 OL, 1 WR, 2 RBs, 2 Safetys, 1-2 LBs, and a kicker added to the current list. That'd put us with a class of 22-25 players, which isn't unreasonable. I'm a supporter of the "recruit an entire line-up every year" theory.

He's the sturdier one. What about Mr. 5'9" 155 lbs.? Must be quick little buggers.

The size of their CBs should factor not just in the passing game, but the running game as well. I would expect our big WRs to manhandle them when blocking, again, especially if Stanley plays.

Not that it really matters, but any idea why Ott didn't have any offers from the other Dakotas and UNI? The twitterers all seem to think he should go to the Gophers or at least a MAC team, and yet we're the only ones who show as having offered him? Seems weird.

On paper. Maybe EWU and UM have down years again (it happens). Maybe NAU (with Cookus healthy), Cal Poly (who can't be stopped with the undeniably greatest FB ever in Protheroe), and Weber are all solid next year and we don't play them. The UM fans anointing themselves the keepers of the BSC Championship, who you have to beat in order to claim it, isn't an idea we should be feeding, IMO. I don't like the unbalanced schedule. It sucks. It provides aid to certain teams and provides excuses for the others. But UM lost the right to complain in San Luis Obispo.

Ah yes, Cal Poly run game was shut down against North Dakota solely because Protheroe was out. It had nothing to do with UND's defense. Protheroe is solely responsible for the effectiveness of the Cal Poly triple-option offense. Nobody can stop Cal Poly with Protheroe. North Dakota is the luckiest team in the country. Only other teams have injuries.
