  1. I like the snow too. It's when it's too cold to snow that ND becomes miserable.
  2. Nobody had complained and it grew quickly. Done.
  3. This was discussed here on page 9:
  4. He's paid by the foundation. Not sure if he reports within the AD or foundation though. A lot of the foundation-institution relationships are intentionally fuzzy.
  5. Seems to me Ira is simply suggesting people remain open to considering internal candidates and the benefits associated with them.
  6. Thome may have been unhappy if we blew the shutout, haha.
  7. Chaves is 51 according to his EWU bio. So yeah, close enough.
  8. Ah, thought you were talking about the internal vs external candidates when Faison was hired. Got it.
  9. Judging by his bio, Brekke must only be in his mid-50s. Plenty of tread left.
  10. As in why he isn't a finalist for the AD position?
  11. Agreed. Is Brekke close to retirement? Thinking hire Chaves, promote Mannausau when Brekke retires, and we have our AD in waiting.
  12. Faison vs Schepp?
  13. Now some name-calling, careful, your intellect is showing. Other than disagreeing with your statement that UND should never promote/hire internally, I'm not sure what your argument with me is. But please continue with your uninformed statements and assumptions regarding the AD candidates.
  14. I was wondering how long it would take you to switch to personal shots after realizing your argument was ridiculous.
  15. Doesn't matter. Everybody is crap.
  16. Did you read the second sentence? Perhaps we should be targeting another raspy voiced white-hair from New Mexico or California then. I'm not arguing in favor of Mannausau, I'm arguing against your ridiculous assertion that all internal hires/promotions would be bad.
  17. So if Mannausau is the best candidate, we shouldn't promote him to AD anyway because we already spent money on a committee and a search firm? Now, I don't believe Mannausau to be the best candidate at this point, but I've got to disagree with your reasoning and absolute statements regarding internal hires/promotions.
  18. You haven't signed the check yet.
  19. I don't support that notion, but I also know the grass isn't always greener on the other side. I don't like the message of "if you want to get a promotion, you have to leave for another school" either. Talent can certainly be grown and promoted from within, I'm just not sure Mannausau is ready yet.
  20. Are you saying any internal hire/promotion is bad, or promoting someone with as little experience at this point as Mannausau would be bad?
  21. Goon did a breakdown in the comments here: http://thesportsdaily.com/goonsworld-blog/pioneers-enjoying-a-huge-disparity-in-power-play-opportunities/
