  1. He may not be the absolute best defenseman available? He might be the best defenseman in the World in his age group. He is getting serious consideration for 1st overall in the 2013 draft and probably would have been Team USA's best defenseman at the WJC if he wouldn't have gotten hurt. He is 16 years old.
  2. I get what you are saying but is MacMillan, Parks, or Rowney better than Knight at 80%? That is a tough question to answer. I think he is on that line just for his faceoff prowess, giving that line initial possession of the puck more often than not.
  3. I dont doubt that he is still hurt, he still has shown that he can play at a high level even when injured. Last Saturday he had 3 points and more or less carried the team to victory. I think he might have had just an off night last night, as did Kristo. This was the first game all year where I thought Kristo wasn't the best player on UND. I highly doubt Hakstol changes up this line, but if he does it will probably just be moving Nelson to center and pulling up another LW like MacMillan. I agree Parks had a great game last night but putting him up with Nelson and Kristo means one of either Kristo or Parks will have to play on their off wing, which they haven't done all year. That doesn't mean they aren't comfortable doing that, I know Kristo has played the off wing in the past.
  4. I think Hexy should have stayed, but to be honest, Gregoire really didn't have anything left to prove in college. It still is disappointing though thinking that instead of fighting for our NCAA lives this team could be top-5 in the country with those two.
  5. Sorry, I was referring to Porter not Gregoire.
  6. No kidding, must be one heck of a hockey city when Miami can barely sell out their brand new, high-school sized arena.
  7. Probably not, do you really think he could crack the Blackhawk's lineup when he is a healthy scratch pretty frequently with the Blues'?
  8. I think "scoring touch" is a little understated. Gregoire would have had 30+ goals and 50+ points if he wouldn't have gotten hurt last year. He honestly could have been a Hobey candidate last year if he was healthy.
  9. I thought the same exact thing you did.
  10. It is kind of odd how USCHO labels their columns, it is pretty misleading. On the left it has ranking which is pretty straight forward but to the right of the team name is PWR, which I assume stands for Pairwise Ranking when it really is the number of comparison's that teams wins vs. other TUC's.
  11. What ranking are you looking at? Duluth is 2nd in both RPI and PWR.
  12. That makes sense, I just wasn't sure if the fact that the arena was in a different state would be an issue or not.
  13. Once this Freshman class are Junior's and Senior's, I would be extremely surprised if they are playing plus/minus even hockey. Look at last year's senior class fowards, there freshman and sophomore years they were slightly positive in plus/minus. Their Junior and Senior years their plus/minus was very high, player's not only improve offensively here, but defensively as well. This year's freshman class is being thrown in the fire due to neccesity more than freshman usually do, a few of them, especially MacMillan, are playing big, tough minutes where as a guy like Brock Nelson as a freshman, who was more highly touted than every freshman this year with the exception of Grimaldi, played on the third line and for the most part, against other team's lower lines. If Grimaldi would have played this year, I totally expected him to put up 40+ points, I also expected him to have a plus/minus of slightly positive. That is the difference between an underclassman and an uppclassman. Sure alot of underclassman can score alot, but for the most part the upperclassman are better in the defensive zone and will have a better plus/minus.
  14. Would MSU-M be allowed to use the Force arena since it would be a Minnesota funded school using a facility in North Dakota. Was the Force Arena funded by North Dakota tax papers or a separate entity?
  15. My favorite part of this article is when his dad, who is also his coach, says that he thinks college is better suited for his game as it will let him develop his strength. His dad played for 5 years in the WHL before the NHL. Chris is listed at 5'11 now. His dad is over 6'3. In 2.5 more years we could have a really good player on our hands, as well as a potentially high NHL draft pick.
  16. Can someone send me the link please.
  17. At least if he decides to go the Major Junior route this summer, the coaching staff will still have over a full year to try and fill his spot for 2013.
  18. I give him 48 hours until he jumps to the WHL.

Is it on basic cable in Canada or does it take an additional subscription to watch it?
  20. Hopefully Jordan Schmaltz stays true to his word otherwise we will have to start from scratch on next year's recruit class.
  21. I agree, basically a no risk, potentially high reward player being brought in.
  22. Mitch left St. Cloud because he wasn't getting enough playing time, I can't imagine he gets much more here. The reasoning behind the move seems to be he wants to play with his brother again, should be a solid depth forward for us and as this year has shown us, those are invaluable. St. Cloud can not be too happy about this.
  23. Possible Frattin vs. Gregoire showdown as Toronto plays St. John's in AHL action tomorrow night.
  24. Very odd news if true, he is too old for Major Juniors, I wonder where he is planning on going.
  25. Parise with 3 assists so far tonight and the 2nd period is not even finished.
