  1. What position does Nash actually play? I thought he was more of a 3 than a 4 but it seems everyone here has him playing the 4. I really thought Traylor would play the 4 cause he is more of an inside player and bigger body. I thought we actually needed beef in the middle for the Big Sky. Seems to me whenever we played a bigger school we got killed underneath.

  3. I think it is a home game. Probably a home and away contract. This year at home and next year at Bowling Green.
  4. I believe you can now add Bowling Green State to our schedule on Dec. 28 or 29th. This should complete the schedule. I believe Bowling Green is a MAC school from Ohio. Should be a good game from the MAC.
  5. Dont know anything about the status of Nash, but from what i understand Nash is the only new player that has been on campus participating in the workouts and open gyms. Hobaugh and the JC transfer have not been on campus yet.
  6. That is the schedule. Secret inside info.

  9. Good one. That is true. His FT% is better than almost everyone on the team, so sad.
  10. I definately have to agree on the lack of development. Its been four years and players like Wilmer, Archer, Haugen etc have not shown any improvement in their game at all. I dont really think the sophomore class showed alot of improvement either from last year and there is definately talent there. Dont know about the other issues but we all know from watching there are issues.
  11. Maybe the coaches should watch game tapes and notice they stand Schuler in the corner all game long and the guards never pass him the ball when he is open. Its very poor coaching.
  12. Excellent points. I have not been on the board for awhile and have one more sad point to add to this that I was going to leave out until what I saw last night. On saturday when he got yanked he sat down next to coach A and said " if I am not getting the ball I am not playing any defense." I got this second hand from the player sitting beside him. You could tell he was very upset leading up to this because he felt he should be getting the ball more. Just adds to his non team commitment and is playing for us own selfish reasons. I am like everyone else and that he has the most talent on this team but as everyone saw last night we played a whole lot better with him on the bench. Its all about team chemistry that makes a team successful. I hope he learns and understands this cause we truly need him if he matures.
  13. Road record is definately not good. In fact most mid major teams do not fare that well on the road but not to this extent. Dont know what other teams do but from what I understand we generally travel all day the day before the game. Its usually 2-3 connections and layovers in each one. On game day there is a lot of sitting around in the motel room doing nothing. The day after the first game on the road trip the same thing happens, travel almost all day. Dont know what the answer is but what is being done now does not seem to work. Maybe it is youth but all our key players have at least 50+ games under their belts. Maybe next year.
  14. You are correct in that we have lost more road games this year than all of last year and we still have a couple more to play. I'm not sure who you thought would step up and score this year or in the 2 years to come besides the 6 players ( Huff, Anderson, Webb, Mitchell, Brekke, Schuler). I'm thinking Goodman but he has only played 3 games and is done for the year but nobody else on this roster will bring much scoring punch in the years to come with the players listed above. We definately need some open scholarships to bring in a replacement for Mitchell and some height.
  15. I am a fan and apparantly know alot more about basketball than you. A forced shot usually does not go in, and you want more people taking forced shots. Great Idea. You have called so many people various names on this forum about how they see the game and its players. How many more people are you going to piss off? You are seriously the one that needs to get a life and a hobby. One more question, how many games have you actually gone to this year? Just curious.
  16. During a game yes bad shots are taken by several of our players. Named Huff cause everyone knows and talks about the quantity of bad shots he takes. Yes he is getting better but still has games where this is not true. Coach Jones is pulling and bringing him to the sides more and more as the year progresses when he starts to do this. Didn't name anyone else cause it rarely happens with some of the other players.
  17. I was talking more in terms of when Huff drives in and there are double and triple teams and he continues to force up shots when several of our shooters are wide open for shots. The degree of diffuculty you mention in the paint is very high while trying to shoot over several guys that are taller than you versus kicking the ball out for one of our guys that are wide open. I would rather have a wide open 3 shot by Mithcell, Anderson or Schuler versus someone trying to force a shot in the paint over many bigger and stronger guys. The closest shot is not always the easiest nor the best.
  18. Would rather have Haugen shooting the ball and getting more minutes than Antwi. Antwi is shooting the ball horrible and has more turnovers than assists. Haugen is a much better shooter I believe.
  19. Dont know that I agree with you that Huff played excellent. He was 5-16 shooting the ball and had 6 turnovers. Would not call that excellent. He did play very good defense again and is always good rebounding the ball. He did make some good passes also He continues to take shots in the paint that should be kicked out to open shooters when 2-3 guys are on him. Overall it was ok but his shots continue to be questionable at times.
  20. Why did Anderson shoot the technical when Schuler has an 87 % and Anderson is in the lower 70%. Anderson made 1. Lets go Sioux.
  21. This game was going to be tough enough but the boys got stuck in Minneapolis last night and are flying all day today and playing the game tonight. Hopefully the jet legs wont be to bad and the boys are able to play at a high level.
  22. It doesnt sound good. Anderson is still sick along with what I heard Huff is also sick. I believe these 2 room with Webb. Schuler has missed practice due to illness and he rooms with Brekke and Mitchell. Thats our top 6 scorers that are potentially sick or could become sick. Like I said we need a good doctor and in a hurry. Hopefully it is all just a 24 hour bug and they will be ready for Thursday. Can a game be postphoned due to team illness?
  23. From what I understand a good portion of the team is extremely sick. I know Goodman missed a game last week and Anderson was extremely sick in New Mexico. The sickness has spread to several other key players. Anybody know of a good doctor?
  24. You cant put Huff in either scenerio as the 2( shooting guard), he cant shoot outside a dunk or a layup. Huff needs to be at the 3 or maybe the 4. If you were to start only one true point guard it would have to be Schuler at the 2. I was thinking alittle about next years line up without Mitchell since you started a topic about this years starting lineups. If we dont replace Mitchell at all then slide Huff down to the 4 and have either Schuler or Goodman at the 3. We would be small but would have 3 viable shooters from the outside and Huff and Brekke on the inside. Still bring Allard off the bench for Huff and Wilmer for Brekke. With no scholarships available and no new players we will have to go small.
