I would like to meet some of these people. I suppose they are the ones talking on their cell phone during the drop of the puck too. I personally think the name is change you are going to experience resentment towards Native People. I am not saying this is wrong or right, nor am I in favor of violence to solve our problems, but I believe its going to be a reality. There is not going to be this great feeling of harmony some in the Social Sciences and Humanities departments the seem to think is going to happen. I think Lee Jeanoete is going to be disappointed at the anger that will be directed at him since he has been such an advocate of the change of the Fighting Sioux logo. On the issue of History, I don't think it will affect American history all that much. Since American history is taught in the public schools and covers Native issues extensively. Some might argue about the accuracy of the lessions but that is for another discussions.

When UND sues the NCAA for violation of the first ammendment and slander by calling our school hostile it will be between the NCAA and UND. Then GK you will be a spectator on the side lines. I say heck no, then the Univeristy is caving into a small vocal minority (squeeky wheel gets the grease). Its whats wrong with this country, hand wringing do gooders that want the rest of the country to change to their point of view. These P.C.ers want to have their values stuffed down our throat all for the good of liberalism unchecked.

I think maybe UND should go to the Norsk or Vikings of all the scandinavians that live in the state of ND. It seems appropriate. I know we do have a good number of Norweign students that study at our university.

There is no reason to just give up. I think the NCAA is going to back up once UND sues them in court. I think the NCAA's goose is cooked.

PCM, I have wrote Dorgans offices a few times on another issue, it ussually takes a two to three weeks to get a response back from him, but his office will get back to you, ussually in the form of a written letter.

I think Dagies is right. Jesse is trying to get the NCAA to see his perspective. One thing the p.c. anti name crowd is: manipulative. I wish the NCAA would just get over so we can sue them. By the time the NCAA is done meddling in Universities names/monikers they are going to be broke.
