Jerry needs to sit on the bench and watch. He might be suffering from a concussion, still. He's been Godawful since Gavin was hurt. The O-Cordinator hasn't changed anything up. I know, I know. UND could beat this team if it plays smartly and changes things up.

I recently wrote about that in a post. This year's team has a good mental makeup: they keep pressing and don't sit back to try to hold a lead; they keep pushing to score more goals and pad the lead.

Now you’re clouding the issue with facts. I actually like this series. It's an easy travel and it's a lot of fun. This year, I took the family over and we sat behind the UND bench in the stands. This was a fun game to attend. Yes, it was really cold in the stands. I recommend staying in the DoubleTree Inn and Suites. They have a great bar and restaurant Green Mill in the hotel complex.

I am not sure that I agree with your point. Why can't or... why isn't football, basketball, and the other sports developing a different revenue stream? Same with basketball. We have NIL money for all of the sports. UND football is really close to being on the rise with the new coaching staff, but this is year one. Basketball has a beautiful facility, but it is half empty for many games. I know this because I go to many games with my daughter. I don't blame that on the Engelstad funding issue. I blame that on one bad coaching hire(s) and decisions. For the record, I like the new women's basketball coach. He has one hell of a hole to dig out of to right the ship.

The exhibition game was all new line combinations.

Wow! Good Point. I thought this was one of the better exhibition games that I have seen in a while. UND played pretty well after the slow start. They were relentless in the second half of the game. I looked up in the stands and there was a lot of talent sitting up there resting their wounds.

I'm happy about the hockey win, but the loss on the gridiron soured my mood. I really felt UND was better until the end. The 4th-and-short play that ended up being a turnover on downs was disappointing. I felt the pistol formation wasn't the best option, and we need a Q-type QB for this exact play. I think the UND football team is a year away, and the hockey team is impressing me. They're playing old-time UND hockey.

I don't know about y'all, but I never felt that UND was going to lose last night's game. Was it a tight game? Of course. UND frustrated the Mavericks throughout the weekend. There is definitely a difference in talent level between UND and Omaha. I saw many things this past weekend that gave me hope. This team is one of the younger ones in college hockey, and they're making great strides. I have been impressed with the CHL kids, as well as the freshmen, such as Kernan and Zellers. Are there things that need to be cleaned up? Yes, 100 percent. Mac Swanson is starting to excel and make plays. If UND has a two-headed monster in the net, that would be a good thing, too.
