    More on Emerson:

His original commitment from 2020 to UMass:

    https://www.tapinto.net/towns/yorktown/sections/sports/articles/hockey-yorktown-s-emerson-chooses-division-1-umass

He was down to UMass, Harvard, and BU before committing to UMass.

    The Herald article:

Pretty unique situation to be down to five schools with only one being out West.  Wonder how much influence his Chicago Steel teammates were to his UND recruitment:

I get the feeling, UND is going to be loaded with skill based on some of the recruits they have coming in. Even with the mess in goal, the Freshmen forwards have been really good. Jackson Blake and O-Mac have been very good. Ben Strinden shows a lot of promise with his physicality and offensive skill. Also, Dylan James has shown glimpses of high-end skill. This pickup yesterday is also a positive.

But is he, or just engaged? According to this ... he's engaged

As far as a married player, back in the day Mal Parks was. (He was a dad to boot.)

@The Sicatoka clouding the issue with facts again. :) So what, Mark is engaged. Does it really matter. This has no bearing on the season whatsoever. Can't we just be happy for him? Personally, I wish him a happy, prosperous life. No matter what happens this season.

I disagree that DU outplayed UND both nights. I thought UND was the better team on Friday and deserved a better fate. You are correct about Saturday though--DU absolutely dominated that game and UND was lucky to be tied 2-2 late in the 2nd.

I thought Friday's game against DU was a 50-50 game that could've gone either way. I thought the play was even for the most part. Saturday wasn't.

He wears Hawks gear all the time.

I've personally been around him many many public occasisons, snd more private and he wears and promotes the name and gear....

    Old, lame, red herring.

Which btw would actually be a better nickname... and likely logo.

@Frozen4sioux has a point, which I can verify. Having gone to many Wednesday press conferences (since UND became the Fighting Hawks) and other events for the media, Berry does wear the UND gear with logos on it. The team was recently sporting some great military appreciation gear, too.

Armacost said he hasn't spoken to Berry about his involvement, if any, in the formation of the business entity or the registration of the trademark. Asked if UND planned any further review of the matter to ensure that policies promoting ethics, and prohibiting conflicts of interest, had been followed, Armacost said the matter was "resolved" by transferring the trademark.

The issue seems to have been resolved. Berry isn't getting fired like some on her have dreamed.

    UND is.

    NODAK LLC hasn't.

    How is this difficult?

I think this is what you're referring to.

In a statement to the press shortly before 8 p.m., UND spokesman David Dodds said the university has been “working diligently to ensure that NODAK LLC’s federal trademark registration did not conflict with, or call into question, the university’s existing rights in the NODAK mark.” Dodds said the rights have been acquired by UND through the mark’s use over many years, adding the “mark has very much retained its association with the University in the minds of consumers.”

It is just an established fact that a rested team has a huge advantage over a team on the back end of a back-to-back.  Thanks to UMD's unearned bye the previous day, they were fresher.  That's not coaching, that's incredible good fortune.

I think there was something to that. UMD got very lucky not having to play Michigan. I think that was a big factor.
