15 likely; 10 could be the X, unless Emerson is better and they want him to get some ice as the X.
Emerson has been practicing this week. Schloss asked Berry about that at the Press conference.

All students start as first year students (plebes) and go four years even if they transfer in from another school. They can opt out after first 2 years but after that they have the 8yr obligation. Tuition, books, room and board plus just under $1100 per month for all students. They can leave in 3rd or 4th yr but would have to serve as enlisted soldier for 2 years and may have to pay back school for costs of education. I wouldn’t think they will get anyone through the transfer portal.
I remember talking to some classmates from High School during Christmas one year and they said that service academy life was kind of tough.

Matthew Semisch 2023-24 NCHC Season Preview: Coming off no Frozen Four appearances in 2023, conference teams aiming to ‘maximize their chances’ this year.
Matt is a little more objective than Ciskie.
QuoteNORTH DAKOTA
HEAD COACH: Brad Berry (entering his ninth season at UND)
LAST SEASON: 18-15-6 (10-10-4 for 6th in NCHC)
KEY RETURNING PLAYERS: F Jackson Blake (So., 16g-26a-42pts); F Riese Gaber (Sr., 20g-17a-37pts);
KEY LOSSES: F Judd Caulfield (10g-9a-19 pts); D Chris Jandric (4g-29a-33pts); G Drew DeRidder (13-9-4, 2.56 GAA, .899 SV%)
KEY ADDITIONS: F Jayden Perron (Chicago Steel, USHL); F Cameron Berg (Omaha transfer); G Ludvig Persson (Miami transfer)
2023-24 PREDICTION: Last season was a tale of two halves for a North Dakota team that was picked to finish second in the NCHC. The Fighting Hawks were far more consistent in the second half, but a tough first half came back to bite them, and they missed out on the NCAA tournament. UND has 14 new faces for this season, and that feels like a lot, but the last time the Hawks had that many newcomers, two years ago, they were Penrose Cup winners as the NCHC’s regular season champions. I’ve got the Hawks second again, and I’m very interested to see what Persson will do with his new team, but after what happened last season, this is another wait-and-see pick.
2023-24 PREDICTED FINISH: 2nd-

Schloss made a good point that Army doesn't benefit from the transfers the same as a lot of other schools. They're stuck in the old model of recruiting and developing while the rest of college hockey plays free agency.
It’s different for service academies.

Seriously? I must have missed that.
Wasn’t it right after he collided with a UND player?

The backup QB Simon Romfo is fast. Nice run by him.

Apparently, that's was the first TD scored in the first quarter of the season.

Why would they play at Applebee's? Was the Betty booked with something else?
Very Funny: I watched the Women play on Midco last night at Applebee's, that was an exciting match.

Rushing yards......143 to 18
I would say that's unacceptable. I am listening to Bubba between Halfs and it's not impressive, he sounded rattled and that we need to play our gaps and be disciplined. How about make a stop and score some points. SD is beating NDSU.

Sample size isn’t huge, 7 games. Facts are still facts. Nothing imaginary about records / stats / facts. You’re justifying mediocrity again. Team needs to put up or shut up. Haven’t done it with Bubba.
Maybe the UND big money financiers (movers and shakers) need to step up and call for Bubba to be fired/replaced. Until there is a ground swell of unhappiness, he's not going anywhere. Just think about this, the Montana State head coach is from Buxton, ND. That's a short 25 miles down the road from Grand Forks, ND. He's already very successful head coach. There are other options out there. UND has to decide how much more mediocrity it's going to eat, before a move is made.

Being I follow CC pretty closely as well, to hear him talk about their players, their incoming players, the guys who left or graduated, if you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was the beat writer for that program! Much appreciated analysis by Brad and his two co-hosts.
Having known Schlossman for a little while, the guy works non-stop, you can text him at three in the morning and there's a good chance he'll answer. I feel they don't pay him enough. The guy has built a network of sources and is very good at his craft. I think UND fans are lucky to have him as the UND hockey beat writer. I hope he continues to work for the Herald. Brad also does a great job covering other stories and sports. I like his River Cities race coverage. It's been really good.

If it makes any difference, the Kansas City Chiefs play on the field today resembles UND's against Boise. Fumbling, fumbling and fumbling.

I think Air Force beating MSU is big. It also proves, you can't go to sleep on any team.
