I respectfully disagree with that statement: last years playoffs between the Wild and Av's and the Wild and Canucks disprove that statement. Last spring was some of the best NHL playoff hockey I have ever watched in my 37 years of life. Also, when I see Mariann Gaborik slam his stick on the ice because he is frustrated and going through a scoring slump proves these guys care. Sure he was in a contract dispute, he still is a caring player I am convinced. Sure there are pukes like Jagr that pout and make asses out of themselves adn do nothing only to perk up when he is rumored to be on the trading blick, but I am convinced that these guys don't care and play without emotions, or there wouldn't be as many fighting majors in the NHL...

I am impressed that you are going to go watch the Sioux instead of the Wild, that shows character, however, I do believe that the NHL is much more fun to watch and most college hockey. Whol would your rather watch MSU and BSU or the Wild and Detroit. The reason I say that is that I took in a game over in Bemidji earlier this year and that was some of the worst hockey I have seen in years. Mankato couldn't even get out of their own end unless there was a powerplay in their favor. In the NHL even the Goons (the less talented fighters) can skate, that is not always true in college. UND has been the exception, Dean Blais teams skate, Skate and then skate some more, so basically if its not UND and who ever or Minnesota and whoever, I would rather watch the NHL. Second most to the time you don't have to watch that god awful brand of hockey that teams like MTU, , UAA, MSU-M and SCCC play, the clutch and grab, its hard to watch and boring. I like watching UND play teams like C.C. and Minnesota. Last night the Bruins got a penalty for one of their defensemen putting their hand on the puck in their crease. The ref immediatrly called a penatly shot and the bruins lost because of it. Inretrospect the WCHA officals have to be the worst officals of all time, they totally go out of their way to call things against UND, as brought up earlier UND's Zach Parise was called for throwing an opposing player off of him, all the while the officals watched the opposing player mug and hog tie him. I feel that is really taxing to have to watch the officals and the jobs they do.

I am predicting that UND will pound Issac on Friday and come back and win a close on on Saturday. UND has some pay back coming to the dirty Blow Dogs... Friday UND 5-1 UMD Saturday UND 3-1 UMD

The WCHA signed a contract with the X-Cel energy center for 5 years after the first year in the X. So what we are looking at is what about three years left if I am not mistaken. I really don't see it moving anytime soon because it was drawn a lot of people. It was somewhere between 60,000-77,000 the last three years.

No offense but there is going to be no NHL next season. The owners and the players are so far apart it isn't even funny... That is good for us though.

Think about it this way. Without Parise and Murray we still out talent about 3/4 of the teams in college hockey. Honestly. I still think we can do ok with these guys against SCCC in January.

I am torn I like to see the young kids go to the JR tourney but we are going to need Drew to beat the Dirty Huskies I guess it is a win win situation for the Sioux.

I was at the game and I thought the crowd was tame for a sporting event. Maybe you should attend a hockey game at the Ralph, thats when you are going to hear some vile comments. During the player introductions the students chant who he he sucks S#!T after each opposing player is announced. Heck the band doesn't even drown them out anymore. Heck I can do you one better, even more flithy than that is our natural WCHA hockey rivals at SCSU: SCSU's students AKA the Dog Pound are way more filthy/vile than anything you will hear at the Ralph or at the AL. They might be the worst in the league. History will tell you that this kind of stuff happens all of the time, its part of sports in the Uppermidwest. I have been to a few stadiums in the NCC and it seems to be the norm. I have been told by former basketball players that the USD fans are down right in your face if your playing them in Basketball. Personally I have been to five straight WCHA Final Fives and this kind of stuff happens at every event. Is some of this stuff classless and out of hand? Probably. However, maybe some people need to not be so thin skined, there are just words. UND is a state school in North Dakota not an ivy league school, oh yeah the althletic director at Yale threatened our radio guy at a hockey game that was marred by a huge fight, last season. There goes that theory. Also, I suggest maybe you should go attend a game at Fenway Park in Boston, I guarentee you will hear way more filth, bad, vile language than you heard in the AL. Finally, If it happens to be in the paper, its fair game and your going to see a sign about it, or your players are going to hear about it. The players flunking the drug test were fair game. You should have read the signs after fromer UofM coach Doug Woog was caught giving players illegal payments to a player in a stocking cap under a desk. While were are on the subject of of the game and sportsmanship, how about your team, you guys missed the NATIONAL ANTHEM. Whats up with that. And today finally I had the chance to talk to a few ladies from Alabama that were disgusted that the NCAA would have the gall to send their supperior team to North Dakota to play the game. They went on and on about how their team Univeristy of North Alabama was the better team and blah, blah, blah... All I could say was whatever... All I know is the Sioux won the game, the Lions are a hell of a team and my team is going to hopefully be the NCAA Division II football champ for a second time in two years. To top that all off my team is going to beat the UMD bulldogs in football. Life is good...

Dagies, I am not saying UofM is a S#!tty but I doubt they are going to win it all this season. Besides who cares if your wrong, which you probably won't be. Also, who cares what some Goofer fan thinks about you. We will stick up for you if your wrong.

Lets just say ditto in what you said. Here is why I think UofM isn't going to win it all again. First is attitude, no team the Gophers are going to play this season is going roll over and say oh your the mighty Gophers and your too good for us. Teams are going to try and lay some smack on the Gophers in the mouth, they just lost to UAA, yikes I wouldn't want to be in that locker room on Monday. If you think I am full of it just review the tape of the Sioux and Gophers series back in November UND checked the living tar out of the Pretty Boy Vanek Line. Vanek was so made by the end of the series that he was banging his stick on the ice. Tom meet Mike... Lastly UofM's Defense and Goaltending has not played very well. Losing P-Mart was huge, the kid was a stud on the powerplay, who is going to take his place Taylor, Atherton, Harrington, Stevens not even close. I feel one of the Gophers best Defensemen is sitting in the stands week after week and that Defensemen is Kennedy. When I watch the Goofers on MSC I want to jump through the television and strangle Wooger when he cuts down UND's goaltending. Hey Doug look are your teams goaltending they suck. Actually I am enjoying the Gophers season so far this year.

So back to the oppinion of the Phoenix and myself in our saying that Minnesota is not as good as everyone wants to say they are, many on the Fighting Sioux Sports web page have been dancing around this all fall. I would be very surprise if they actually make the playoffs. I am sure the WCHA is freaking out right now worrying that the Gophers aren't going to make the Final Five. Oh the humanity...
