  1. HORNS DOWN!!!
  2. Notre Dame has its CFP hopes dashed with a 33-20 road loss to Louisville. I wonder Lou Holtz will insist that the Irish actually won the game like two weeks ago?
  3. We did what we had to do at home against a very bad team. Next week will tell us a great deal where the team stands six games in.
  4. Think the UC-Davis playoff game in 2001. Or the GVSU playoff game in 2004.
  5. Time to turn the Alerus Center into the House of Pain.
  6. Only 6 pages for the Homecoming GDT? I get the last two weeks were ugly, but we can still make some noise this season. And we can start by beating our mortal enemies at home next week. Go Hawks! Buck the Fison!
  7. I hear you. When Hyslop is gone, every venue I attended as a student (1993-2000) will be gone. And you are right, the "cost prohibitive" line is used way too often. That being said, I think they have plans for the Hyslop site. Chester Fritz should be remodeled and refurbished.
  8. Someone pointed out that local businesses have bought up tickets to keep the sellout streak alive, so the fan support is not as robust as the streak would suggest.
  9. They lost 19 players to the portal! Cripes, what the heck is going on in FU land?
  10. They found the $$$$$ to buy out Mussman, although he made a lot less than Bubba does. So the challenge is greater this time. What I really don't want is for Chaves to give Bubba a multi-year contract extension this upcoming off-season after a 7-4 first round playoff exit finish. That would confirm the underlying fears of posters like @UND-FB-FAN, @GoodGood, @Midwestern Hawk: That making UND FB a perennial FCS power is simply not a priority for UND athletics.
  11. This has the potential to be a very good team once March rolls around. Any growing pains we have to live with in October and November will be well worth it.
  12. Nobody should have a lifetime contract, no matter how much the grandmas like him.
  13. Homecoming generally draws well no matter how the team is doing or who the opponent is.
  14. Playoff game times are dictated by ESPN, but our regular season home game times are not. Have some night games during September.
  15. We had about a month of night games when the Alerus Center opened in 2001. They were well attended. But Dale Lennon kept bitching about not liking night games and pretty soon we were back to 1pm ad nauseum. A lot of other coaches make night games work all the time, so there is no reason why we can't do it again.
  16. Will these new requirements force any current FBS schools to drop down to FCS?
  17. All coaches in all sports have to deal with "changes in society and college sports". Some are successful, some are not. If Bubba can't be successful in the current environment, we need to find someone who can.
  18. I think everyone is still sore about what happened in Brookings.
  19. There has to be a less expensive way to accomplish that goal.
  20. I have always felt that Starbucks is just overpriced coffee. The others you listed would be great to have in the union.
  21. To be fair to Bubba, I don't think he has had all the tools he needs to make this program a perennial FCS contender. That being said, I don't know if he is capable of taking us to the next level, new facilities or not. The program reached a ceiling under Roger Thomas.....and Dale Lennon took us to the next level. It may be time for someone else to take us to that next level (seeded in FCS playoffs, trips to Frisco, FCS titles). I believe the sample size is now big enough to conclude that Bubba has reached the ceiling on how far he can take us as a program. I really hope I am wrong, but I don't think I am.
  22. So which is it? Is he a back-up who didn't get much playing time or was he in the rotation and got playing time? It cannot be both.
  23. How many years does Bubba have left on his current contract?
