I think expanding tournaments too much could water down the product. The NCAA hockey tournament is one of the most competitive in all of collegiate sports. I don't want to go down the road of the Basketball tournament.
-
Leave it as is for now. But if we get above 75 teams or so, then maybe think of going to 20.
-
Isn't Caleb Williams the guy that thinks he's owed a huge contract before he's played a single down in the NFL? Screw him. He's going to learn the hard way that his bargaining position isn't nearly as strong as he thinks it is.
-
For once, I agree with you. There is a good group of QBs that will be available this year. I could see them moving up on draft day if there is someone they are interested in and they don't think he'll fall to them.
-
Maybe analytics told them to do it.
-
Well, with Sam Darnold at QB, the Vikings might get the #1 overall pick in 2025. So maybe we should wait.
-
Now that Cousins has signed with the Falcons, the Vikings should do whatever it takes to get that #1 overall pick from Chicago. The Bears are probably going to stick with Fields at QB, so trading the #1 pick would give them loads of extra draft capital. The Vikings would have the pick of any QB they want. Get that franchise QB and build around him. In today's NFL, if you don't have a QB, you don't have a team. Period. #timetogetserious

Pure stupidity.

It was spring break last week and I imagine everyone was still making their way home.

UND @ UNO - Saturday ‘Hangover Gone’ Game
fightingsioux4life replied to brianvf's topic in Men's Hockey
They won the Penrose and the Natty in 2016, so I am not buying that. Maybe the let-down after the high of winning the Penrose was bigger than we expected? The 2016 team played poorly at the Frozen Faceoff in Minneapolis, but rolled from there. The 1997 team suffered an embarrassing sweep at Denver that prevented them from winning the McNaughton Cup outright. We all know what happened after that. The 2000 team went to 3 games vs. Denver in the first round and never lost a game after that. I really hope they haven't screwed themselves out of being placed in Sioux Falls, because I am hoping to see them in person for all their NCAA games. Whatever happens, I will support this team throughout their journey. -
Martinson is being groomed to take over when Chaves retires. God help us if that happens. It is time President Armacost shows some leadership in this area, because nothing will happen without that.
-
If Sather can hang onto his young core, they could make big strides next season.
-
That WMU vs. SCSU match up will be one to watch.

Enough about luck. Ralph Engelstad told us that "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Luck is a sorry excuse of an alibi. This athletic department is being run like a high school. That isn't "bad luck", that's a conscious choice.
-
But Chaves has a regular podcast, so we shouldn't complain about anything ever.

Thanks, I knew I was forgetting something.
-
Don't count on it. Because at UND, it's all about "the student-athlete experience". #justlikehighschool
-
I guess Chaves finally did enough contemplating and surveying of the landscape.
-
Mallory Bernhard would probably get a multi-year contract extension if the team somehow wins 20+ games, that's how screwed up this athletic department is. But I don't see that happening. I predict 5 wins at most, with a last place finish in the Summit. And it still won't be enough to persuade Chaves to make a change at the top.
-
Is that one of the administrative positions that the UND suits insist is required by Federal government regulations?
-
Even if the REA contract was better, we still wouldn't have the accountability, expectations and standards needed at the top to win at a high level across the board.
-
A Commitment to Excellence. UND seems to have a Commitment to Excrement.

Amen. What I don't want to hear from Hennessey this weekend is how "outstanding" Miami's goaltender is playing or how Miami is playing a great road game. Miami would struggle to earn home ice in the AHA and should be dispatched in two games. No Excuses.
