Enough of this mid-major talk. Our problem is that Berry is not head coaching material. We bring in talent and they regress over time. That's on the coaches. And that is why we need a change at the top. And I don't think Hakstol will ever go back to college hockey. He'll probably go back to the NHL at some point. We need to go younger with our next head coach.

It depends on how much more money UND would offer them. If it's significant, I think they would take it.

On another note, it is amazing how many former UND players have contributed to the growth and success of Greater Grand Forks hockey over the years.

Central wins 30th state title 2-1 over Red River. Both schools have a combined 51 state titles.

A new coach would have to reach out to them and sell his vision for the program. Eric Schmidt had to do that when he took over FB and I think he kept most of the players he wanted.

Everyone except the FB and Soccer coaches should be replaced. But we must start with Chaves. We need new leadership in the athletic department. We are a regional laughingstock in college athletics and I am sick of it.

Another high school? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the idea, but do you think the voters will approve a tax increase to build and maintain it? The anti-tax crowd will howl in protest as usual. And I never said redrawing boundaries is easy. But when you run for and win a seat on the school board, making tough decisions goes with the territory. Maybe they could narrow it down to two plans and let the people decide?
