  1. In 2001-2005, the crowds we would get were passionate and made a lot of noise. We are still trying to get that back. You don't need a full house to make it loud in the Alerus Center, but you need fans that understand the impact noise has on the visiting team.
  2. Well, you can thank Dale Lennon for the lack of night games. I know we had a lot of them in 2001 and attendance was really good, but Lennon didn't like night games, so I think that is why they stopped. They need to come back. Until October, there is no hockey. There is no reason not to have night games in September.
  3. I disagree with that. In the 1990's, both UND and NDSU were conference title and playoff contenders and (weather permitting) we drew well. NDSU was indoors at the time and they drew well every game. If we are going to have to wait for NDSU to have a couple of down years to put more butts in the seats, then we might as well shut this thread down.
  4. If you are going to tell the Hakstol critics to let it go, you may want to do the same thing yourself. Not saying, just saying.
  5. So you are putting FB in the "Chicken or Egg" box? People won't go because it is on television, but if it isn't on television, you won't get the same exposure of your product to prospective fans and people won't go. Enough with the lame a$$ excuses. People can't b!tch about the quality of our opponents anymore, so they continue to come up with even worse excuses to ignore every program except for MH.
  6. And some of the people on this forum thought Mussman should have kept his job because "you win with players". I won't name names, they know who they are. Thankfully, Faison had the stones to do what needed to be done and made a change.
  7. Couldn't agree with you more. GO SIOUX!!! GOPHERS SUCK!!!
  8. Clarkson has a long history of success within the ECAC. The NCAA tournament.....not so much.
  9. Light rail is awesome. I have ridden it before. It is quiet and it gets you there much quicker than the freeway would.
  10. Hey, you forgot this:
  11. Clever, very clever Mr. Sunshine. I call them like I see them. If you don't like that, tough cookies. When people who clearly don't care about FB come on the FB forum and basically trash the program, I will call them out on it. Period. End of Story. And End Rant.
  12. Cubs force a Game 6 with a 3-2 home win over the Indians. Game 6 is Tuesday in Cleveland.
  13. With all due respect sir, no you don't. You say you like FB, but then go on to bash the sport, the team and the coaching staff with your "I was kind of bored by the product on the field." This post is a perfect symbol of what is wrong with UND athletics right now. If it isn't men's hockey, it doesn't matter and thus deserves ZERO attention. And as for people not wanting to "spend money doing the exact same thing every weekend", why is REA sold out for every home game not on a holiday weekend, between semesters or spring break? I guess they don't seem to have a problem "doing the same thing every weekend". Oh, that's right, if it's hockey, that rule doesn't apply. I like to think we learn something new everyday, and today I learned this: WiSioux = Hockey Only Fan I would have more respect for your opinion if you had just said that instead of that load of asinine B.S. you posted. End Rant.
  14. Oh trust me, I've been around their fans at The John and at the Final Five at the X and they are truly insufferable. Next weekend will be about 100x more hostile than Duluth was.
  15. Yeah, I get that, but you made it sound like we would turn into the 1984 San Francisco 49ers if we had Clive. Would it help to have him? Of course. But I don't think we would start putting up Eastern Washington type numbers if we did have him back.
  16. I will go with a split. Goofs are a soft team playing in a soft conference, but UND is a little disorganized right now, so can't predict a road sweep at The John. Wish we could have played them last year, those would have been two butt-kickings for the good guys.
  17. One receiver would transform the offense into a juggernaut? Not buying it.
  18. I said COULD. I didn't say WILL. I did not expect this team to look this bad early on. I do think they have plenty of time to turn it around, but it won't happen right away and it is possible (notice I said POSSIBLE) that some of these younger guys may take all year to get up to speed. Sweeping the Goofs on the road next weekend is a good place to start a turnaround.
  19. I guess Berry thinks we should ride the horse that helped us win a natty last year until there is reason not to ride him. Tomek will get his shot at some point.
  20. Once again, MafiaMan comes through with the comic relief.
  21. Nope, that was last year. That is ours forever. That is why hanging banners is important.
  22. This has been par for the course for this program. The fans we do have are loyal, hard-core backers of the team.
  23. I don't believe I said this. But it is going to take some time for Berry and his staff to get this team up to a championship-caliber level. Can they do it? Yes. Will they? That all depends on how long it takes for the lines to mesh and for the young guys to mature.
  24. Maybe Boeser is trying to do too much to compensate for our young guys. He just needs to play his game and not try to force things.
  25. Yeah, I said that. That was in response to the media practically giving the NCAA title to Boston University because of the hotshot freshmen they have this year. Whether we are title contenders at the end of the season or not will depend on how quickly our young guys develop and get comfortable in the college game. I guess I didn't think we would look quite this bad early on. Being how tough the NCHC is, dropping the first two league games puts us in an early hole. How quickly our young players develop will determine if we have time to dig out of that hole or not.
