No, everything wasn't Bob Schnelker's fault. But his poor use of Hershel Walker was on him. As was a lot of the unimaginative play calling he was famous for. The Minnesota Vikings of the late 1980's had the defense to win a Super Bowl, but their offense had to continuously settle for field goals inside the 5 yard line instead of punching it in for six. That is the biggest reason why those teams could never quite get over the hump. Is Rudolph to blame for everything? No, but unless Studsrud is calling his own plays (like Terry Bradshaw), he is responsible for the predicable run, run, pass, punt pattern that opponents are always ready for. PS: This was the game vs the Rams where the Vikings won with a safety off of a blocked punt in overtime. I will never forget that game.....crazy stuff.

I would call the defense better than "solid" with all the turnovers they are generating. The offense will be a problem as long as we are starting over on the O-Line every year; we have to develop some chemistry and consistency there or else it won't matter who the QB or RBs are.
-
Which conference would take them? The Sun Belch? That league is pure garbage. The Big 12? I am not sure they would take a North Dakota school. The MAC? Don't know if they are looking to add teams or not. If NDSU is smart, they'll stay in FCS and not move up to FBS where the closest thing they would get to a "championship" would be a low-level bowl game on a weeknight in the middle of December on ESPN that very few people will be interested in watching. And that is assuming NDSU can increase their athletics budget to a level high enough to have a winning team on a perennial basis.
-
Roll Studsrud out more, he seems to make more plays doing that.
-
Anybody think Studsrud and/or the O-Line can get better as the season goes on? We won't win many more games if the offense can't cash in on all these turnovers.
-
Okay, that is a reasonable take on this.

So, based on what we know right now, is this photo appropriate or not? Just with what we know now? And what could possibly make it acceptable?
-
No, I didn't say that, did I? I am saying that people are soft-pedaling this, while saying it was stupid of them to do. When you make smart-a$$ comments like that, you should expect a response.
-
Really? Then what would you call this? Sorry, but I can and will connect those dots. Because these are young white women doing this, they are just "sowing their wild oats". If these were Black Panthers targeting white people with racial slurs, I imagine the social media response would be much, much different. Flame away, but those are dots worth connecting.
-
This is what I was talking about. Implicit acceptance and approval of what these young women did. SMH.
-
Some people on social media are clearly having trouble suppressing their pride in what these young women did. They just won't admit it. That is what I was targeting. Not you specifically.

Please post a link to the story on this. I haven't heard about it.

People who claim to not condone this behavior and then go on to explain how it isn't a big deal and it doesn't matter confuse me. Was it appropriate or not? If this is appropriate, what will be appropriate next? The Swastika? I don't think criminal charges are appropriate here, this should be handled by UND's administration. Discipline the students involved, warn them of future consequences for repeat of said behavior and move on. I don't think these students should have their lives ruined over one bad decision, but they need to understand that this behavior is not acceptable in society and will likely have harsher consequences once they move in the professional working world.

I believe those are the correct times.

He was tarred and feathered for posting a very condescending and patronizing response to a student who left early. If he had included the season-ticket holders and general admission ticket holders who left early, most people wouldn't have had a problem with it. But he gave them a free pass, while he launched into a generational chauvinist rant about how terrible the millennials are. We have way more important things to be concerned about anyway. As this team continues to improve and play more consistently, the fans will come. It just isn't going to happen instantly, not after all the bad years we have endured around here.
-
You are welcome.
-
You tried, convicted and sentenced that student based on your own generational biases. Nothing "lefty" or "righty" about that, just not in good taste. I have dealt with a lot of the "entitled" millennials you b!tched about in your post and I would rather spend time with them than with people who like to sit out on their front porch and yell at the kids to get off their lawn.

The only one acting "entitled" here is you. You think the students owe you anything? Does this student need to bow down and kiss your a$$? The answers to both questions are no and no. Get off your high horse and quit acting like you are better than everyone else.
-
And making a total a$$ out of himself. While we are talking "entitlement", a lot of posters on this forum act "entitled" all the time. But since they are older, they can act like that and the students better shut up and do what they are told. Yeah, whatever. Kids live what they learn. And they learn a lot by watching us. A lot of us should look in the mirror before we throw rocks from our glass houses....especially 3runsingle.

He is still learning how to be physical without drawing PI penalties. He has all the physical tools to be a great corner in this league.

Please don't go there. We need to keep working on the student section. They used to be a big factor (2000-05) and we will need them back if we want to turn the Alerus Center into what it used to be and can be again.....the best home field advantage in our conference.

Here is how the Vikings defense can contain the Packers: 1) Put Trae Waynes on Jordy Nelson and tell Waynes to stick to him like Velcro the entire game. Then put a safety over the top. That will force Rodgers to beat us with their other receivers, which are pedestrian at best. 2) Keep Rodgers in the pocket and smack him around a little. Get him out of his comfort zone. If you let him sit back there all game, he will pick you apart. 3) Don't let them get the running game going. That will make #1 and #2 possible.
-
I believe the crowd noise was partially responsible for our second pick 6. It was 3rd and 5, but an illegal procedure penalty made it 3rd and 10. So an obvious running situation became a bit more complicated as they didn't want to have to punt it back to us. So they put it in the air and it was picked off and run back for a TD.

I am pretty sure Bubba will drive that point home in practice next week.

I think they were because the host school (UND) is a Big Sky team. They certainly performed like Big Sky refs.
