The "soft" thing is interesting to consider. UND is built quite a bit differently than it used to be. They take fewer penalties than almost everyone, and have the skill to win by winning the special teams battle. But the skill guys are pretty soft, Blake's wipeout of Rizzo notwithstanding. Do we need more grinders? Or skill guys with more of an edge? I don't know. Maybe they go on a run and this discussion is unnecessary.
This is going to hurt, but it may well be true.
UND is...
who the gophers used to be.

Sure. But that still doesn't explain calling UNO a bottom feeder...they're a tourney team.
Got it. Someone will have to update the Wikipedia page then.

Sorry yeah Omaha is a bottom feeder. Of a program, of the conference, this year and historically.
If they hadn't beat a " 1 seed " 3 times in the last month, would they even be close to the tourney?
No.
Then you'll say
" they beat a 1 seed three times"
They didn't, they beat a lazy mathematical pairwise anomaly 1 seed.
They shouldn't even be here.
A top team beats them down to the gutter where they AND this UND team right now seem to belong.
They can gladly prove me wrong but me thinks the absolute piss missle of a drubbing they both take next weekend will absolutely prove me right.
I hope not, I really do but...
as the saying goes
hope in one hand, tourney game at the X in the other.......

This weekend is over ... focus on next weekend and be glad we will be a 2 seed and NOT in Sioux Falls with Omaha.
Sorry No.
There's no excuse to be scared to play a bottom feeder.
Winners aren't scared to play anybody, that's a pathetic attirude.

Omaha... yeah omaha just whipped it out; smacked it all over the face of UND and laughed while doing it.

Wonder if the hot tub wasn't hot enough this weak or if the cold tub just wasn't cold enough?

Just a terrible shift after.
Which again leads to questioning the focus and leadership, unfortunately.

Getting laughed out of the X by Omaha is not really what's making me feel all green and hawkey to put it mildly.

It’s like Berry is not putting the top line out extra. It’s like he knows we’ll have a Thursday game and is saving energy.
I would counter that winners win and winning tends to be contagious.
Planned mediocrity for purposes of rest seems quite..... mid.
as the kids say.

As a second seed, what number 1 seed team would you want to face and what region.
They ain't getting to a #1 seed opponent

By rule of hockey that has to be a no goal.
But that's rediculous cause it is absolutely a goal.
Refs in a no win situation right now.
He screwed up.

Alright time for analysis: What is UND failing to do, on a once potent power-play? What is different? Share your ideas.
Focus, urgency, confidence, a seething hatred of losing...
all seem to be missing.

I'm assuming this would take Bubba into retirement? Or no?
And here I thought the record and lack of success would take care of that.

Someone stated above that this may actually be a good thing in that we don't know the details of the contract yet..
It may provide the stability needed for coaches, potential recruits and current players as well as a negotiated buyout option.
Just trying to see the potential positive..... cause if this is truly who we want coaching long term or think he can lead the program to competativeness...
Best to just initiate "Operation Tater"
(That's just folding the program and renting the HPC and Alerus to RDO for potato storage)

O'Keefe, Hammer, Sweeney, none are young men. Hennessy's not either.
Alex is talented and that gets noticed nationally.
It's not easy (see Brandt's 7-hour weekend round trips).Soon enough it'll be Jody N on TV and Darren L on radio sitting next to ... TBD ...
Likely.
I like Jody and think he can do a fine job.

Brock Nelson would potentially have the next shot baring injuring/rest he would hit the mark at the very end of the 25/26 season or potentially early on in the 26/27 season.
He's currently under contract through 24/25 and 32 years old so it seems a distinct possibility he would have a good chance at 1000 games.

That's a bummer. Was hoping for no spelling tests during that game.
At least Michigan held it to just one.Think mathematically we wanted the gophers to win I'd think.

Alex was down stairs walking Jake through after the post game and everyone was shaking his hand and thanking him for his time
Thanking Jake or Alex?

I could certainly see that. When Alex first came on I was a little skeptical as I wanted to see Pat Sweeney be the play by play but Alex has done a pretty darn good job, plus he is a super nice guy.
Same, exactly the same.

Something tells me he's the type of person that made sure Jake got all the attention about it even if he was leaving.

Guy talks way too much with his hands and of course I have no idea what he is saying 95% of the time. Enjoyed him as a player, not as an analyst. Anyone catch his X posts. Good grief, he might as well be speaking a foreign language.
Its too much. Takes the character too far.
I believe there's someone who had some pertinent advice on the matter.
