    The dumpster fire of UW Hockey blazes on.

    I don't see much other than a big change at HC that can right the ship.

    Wait.....those B1G network games will save them all.

    It is a shame it's not great for college hockey as a whole to have a devastated Wisconsin.

    Sounds like the Badgers incoming Freshman goaltender Luke Opilka will not be playing for the Badgers.

    But, the committee has disappointed thus far, so they will probably choose to ignore the experts' advice on Roughriders.

    If it's chosen,

    maybe Spring Fest could be replaced with Ribbed Fest.

    Does it seem so incredibly painful that if they go with the easy, lame and unoriginal Roughriders, like has been talked about for so many years....

    That this whole god forsaken process was a magnanimous waste of time, money, and resources?

    I mean really we are coming down to....for all the time and money spent,

    Either pilfering a used nickname form a high school down the street, or just not even picking one.

    The lessons on failure here should be taught in every school in the state, from elementary to MBAs

    How in the H E Double Hockey Sticks is North Stars still an option.

    Sundogs can also instantly go so there we have it down to 5.

    I have to admit, as an outsider, seeing this exchange with a UND fan not happy they hired an outstanding coach that has no business being a second assistant on a college hockey staff because he didn't play at UND is HILARIOUS.

    Imagine if they got Babcock? Man, what a terrible hire! He can't even tweet #UNDproud! I guess it's #McGillProud now!

    You guys kill me sometimes.

    That's a fake Internet handle that just posts as a bit.....Ala Gerbschmidt on kfan...only less funny.

    Caufield is credited for getting Mario Lemieux back in shape after his time away.

    If Caufield (one game) is on the Cup wall, I'd call that precedent: Wear the jersey for one game, you qualify.

    That's my thoughts too. It's kinda awkward but I think it would have to be recognized.

    Good think there's no way in heck that NYR wins a cup in the next 15 yrs ;)

    I think no is the answer for both, but he did play for UND. Hmmmm

    Awkward situation, but just for fun and cause its better than think of the nickname.

    Say tamboleavi wins a cup someday, does UND put him on the wall with all the others??

    Well Jay Caulfield (sp) is up on there twice ?

    He had 1 GP for Mens Hockey,

    Forgive me but I am fuzzy on that story, was too young at the time to know.

    Hahaha I was LITERALLY doing the same thing as you posted this...

    Zane and Nick Schmaltz. Good stuff there. Also, Tambo with the NYR organization. Thought that was interesting. Must have been the right move for him. Do we talk about him anymore? Lol

    The New Nickname vs. No Nickname Debate Thread

    KIAC can put all the "North Dakota only" questions to bed with one act.

    All he has to do is send a letter to the NCAA with the simple question of:

    "If the process produces "No Nickname, or "North Dakota" as the nickname, does this satisfy the agreement. YES or No."

    Now it may seem like I've just relayed to this oozing arogant prick exactly how he can stop out this no name camp, (of which I am a resident), or .....maybe not.

    What if the NCAA says, yeah sure, we good.

    Then what, I would think NoNick would win in a monumental landslide at that point.

    That's almost too much of a gamble to take for him.

    But surely the NCAA would Never go for such a thing, I mean that is what the armadillo hat and ostrich crowd keeps saying. So why not send the letter???

    Either 1 of 2 reasons.

    1: The NCAA would clarify that UND will be in compliance with just North Dakota.

    Or

    2: This entire process is a giant horse and pony show, and he has already selected (Spirit) and the voting nor committees matter in the slightest, thus no need to be concerned with what is being "considered".

    I thought I read somewhere he planned to play ????? Can't recall.

    Thinking Bismarck took a flier on a famous name late in the draft?, or does he come here?...

    I hate it but I have a gut feeling that it has been decided all along and this is a massive horse and pony show.

    Arrogant Intellectuals tend to believe they can make an unpopular choice acceptable; if they can dupe the simple folk into thinking they came to the decision themselves, all along knowing what they were going to do.
