    Anyone notice tweets from Jim Montgomery the end of last week claiming he was "driving in Grand Forks" said the DJ on the radio said it was never going to warm up. Wonder what he was up to in GF?

    I tweeted schloss about that monday......he didnt respond at all.

    Seriously i thought there might have been a chance that :

    1) He was interested in the UND HC job.

    No way

    2) He was interested in the UND AC job

    No way

    3) He was recruiting a player or recruit

    Plausible

    4) He was recruiting one of the many kids aroung the THA REA tournies or some other local kids.

    More likely

    5) Tourism. GF is beatuiful in May.

    Less likely

    6) Red Pepper

    Toews brought it Winnipeg once the second time he brought it to a children's hospital in Chicago. Some people on here feel like their entitled that every time a former player wins the Stanly Cup they have to bring it back to Grand Forks.

    I agree, these players are in no way expected to bring it back to GF. Every time has been a generous gift.

    However Toews will be stopping in GF with it here in a few weeks ;)

    Worst case scenario: Hak doesn't do well in philly and is let go in two years. At that very moment Jerry York retires and BC picks up Hak. Hak's natty curse is lifted and rolls on to several years of winning Nattys at BC. Ugh, hope Hak has many successful years in philly or in the NHL. Would stink if he came back to the college game with any other team than ND.

    It could be worse.......two years more of loserville in Dinkytown.......Lucia is gone....Hak is available.

    Hak wins a "Natty" in 2018-19 for the UMtc.

    That's a nightmare, I almost threw up typing it out

    Not sure if it has been changed yet, but there is talk of having 4 full time coaches per team.

    I thought that was voted on here not to long ago.....i assumed Karl would be getting paid, deserves it.

    As for the new assist.

    Quick question, if HR has to open the position, for Asst. Why didnt the University have to open the HC position?

    Not mad, Berry is ok, not my first choice but I dont matter.

    I do have a hobby; its collecting game worn fighting sioux jerseys  :)

     

     

    And yes it is very annoying when a reputation button is hit that wasn't meant to be hit on the phone , Sorry Siouxkid12  ....My bad  I did not intend to do that.  Is it possible to change those?

    So it's 'flaunting' to show a picture of a jersey on a forum called Jerseys? Jesus, you got to have something more to worry about...maybe you could flaunt your opinion on the nickname again; that's always a good read. ;)

    Not really sure what you're refering too about the nickname, i'm not really sure how my opinion that "I prefer Fighting Sioux over everything else, but its not going to matter.".....is out of the ordianary, pretty much the same as 98% of everyone here.

    Grimaldi's head snaps back after the stick to the cage. In that split-second, he loses sight of Holl, then looks the wrong way in trying to find him, just as Holl finds the puck on his stick. .6 is a myth!

    Im sure the ref was not going to make the call because time was near up and didnt have the fortitude to make the call with 2 secs to go going into overtime.

    Then .6 happens and he cant go back and rectify his monumental eff up.

    But its no myth, the puck snuck by Zane and its history. All part of the epic saga of Sioux gopher hockey lore.....

    Itnis what it is. A game result that was agian effected by a series of errors.

    I understand, don't need it explained, but still don't care if some self proclaimed jersey wonk doesn't like it. Just sayin'...

    Let me explain it this way, because No i dont think you get it at all.

    Imagine you have a wonderful painting by a famous artist. Its yours, you own it, you can do whatever to it that you wish.

    It happens that you wish to dip your hand in paint and make a hand print turkey in the middle of the painting. Because you like it that way. Which is fine.

    But then you take that painting and proudly display your modifications in a gallery attended by art enthusiasts.

    Obviously the artsy fartsy people are mortified that this unique piece of art, from this artist with so very few works left in the world has been "ruined" in their eyes.

    They are outraged that someone would do this and then flaunt it front of them.

    .....

    You didnt think that maybe there would be some discontent when you flaunted the destruction of a highly sought after item ....in a forumn obviously focused on people who hold in value and esteem the collectible item destroyed..

    'Cmon man you should have known that would happen.

    Grimaldi deserves most of the blame.  He loses the face-off and then didn't take out the trailing Holl.  

     

    I'm getting tired of people saying it was such a fluky goal when in reality it was a very typical hockey goal.  What we just saw in Boston is a fluke goal.  Rau won the face-off cleanly, no fluke there.  Skjei is first to the puck and makes a nice play by chipping it ahead off the boards to Holl. Holl immediately rushes up the ice and gets it to Rau who's eventual shot was blocked and it came to Holl.  I'm assuming this is the part you guys say is a fluke, the fact that the puck found Holl.  But watch it again.  It's not like the puck just found Holl's stick, in fact he made a great play by playing it off his skate to his stick in order to get a shot off as quickly as he could.  It was a very slick play by him.  Shots are blocked or deflected and bounce to open players all the time in every single game so I'm not sure how that constitutes a fluke. They won the face-off, got up the ice quickly, and managed to get 2 shots off. The end result of the play was made due to a series of good plays leading up to it.

    Your looking in the right direction but your moron colored glasses have you missing the number one aspect of the play.

    Grimaldi was out of position.....why...

    Watch the play, he was high sticked in the face coming into the zone by Holl with the ref of course looking directly at it.

    If Grimaldi hadn't had his head slashed he would have had position no shot. OT

    The high stick was aggressive and blatant and should have drawn a 2:00 PP.

    But it didn't so you and all the other skimahs could take the win and riot your campus down.

    The 3 on 3 thing to me is silly.

    The shootout is a skills comp and points shouldnt hang in the balance over it.

    Its not a hockey game.

    Neither is a 3 on 3 situation. Its a gimmick. With a h8gher chance of injury to top players.

    If we really cant just have a tie, then lets let the Coaches have a round robin Bubble hockey tourney at center ice after a 5 min OT.

    If no winner is clear three legged sack races can be held on consecutive sundays for the extra point

    So f McIntyre doesn't get signed by the bruins, instead of picking free agency, can he come back to UND? Or would that ship have sailed by that point?

    I keep seeing that he is still a Junior in HS and has not been accelerating, but then I see his family advisor saying that NCAA is still an option,.....

    So either it's the truth...or....

    All is being leveraged against each other, maybe Everett was unwilling to either "pay up" pr trade his rights "to someone who will" , and the threat of NCAA wasn't doing it.....

    "Leaking a $500k contract". ....could be just basically telling the WHL what it will take to get the deal done.

    But from a competition level Swiss league is a better fit than both NCAA and WHL imo

    So if we put Dakota on the football jerseys like the Carolina's do we would be in bad terms with the NCAA ....that would be interesting.

    As is Minnesota....

    In fact their football team uses Ski-u-mah.....an Indian saying

    ON THEIR HELMETS.

    So in essence the once great and mighty UMtc is in violation of not only NCAA policy but by the rules of the university are forbidden to play with themselves....er is it play themselves, or itself..

    I'm confused.
