Has Kristo landed anywhere yet?
He was assigned to Chicago wolves with Schmaltz and Trupp.

Love the Drake....
I'm going with Drake
-
And the Wild just picked him up off waivers. Hope he makes the team.
if a team claims a guy off waivers???....doesn't he have to be on the big club all year?.....not sure on thatp

Stopped in to Engelstad south and watched Parise and MacWilliam square off...
Parise got the better of it .....but to be fair it was the Wild NHL team vs the Jets half AHL team
Mac got burned a few times and ended the night with a decent showing in a fight, have to think the Moose are where he will be.

Just got home.
Tough to get beat and the score never seemed as close as it looked.
This was a big step for the Sioux program. They needed to see exactly where they match up in D-1jv right now.
And good for the fans to to see the entire experience the tailgating, the enthusiasm....the noise, excitement, the presentation, ....everything.
The bison fans were great, I was thanked for coming to the game over a half dozen times....offered free beer and food from different tailgaters....almost all the interactions involved chuckles laughs and memories and slaps on the back both ways. Really enjoyed it, especially from those fans who remember the old days, ......yes the young kids who didn't have a clue where a bit annoying but hey so was I at that age.
The only thing I can really say was not great was the amenities of the Fargo dome......terrible food options, inefficient bathrooms and tight corridors.
All in all when the sun rises tomorrow, (and it will) UND needs to step back and say "that's what we need to be".
And prayers for that kids leg, that was difficult to see.

I'd like to hear more organ music at the Ralph

Coach Stork will be putting together the first Jimmie hockey team, and will be spending the next year recruiting, scheduling and planning for the team's first season.
The University of Jamestown will apply for admission to the American Collegiate Hockey Association and compete at the Division 1 level.

The NCAA has ZERO authority to sanction a University of what fans say.....ZERO.
If that were the case UMD would be sanctioned for the smallpox blanket displayed at WCHA Final Five.....aand NDSU would be sanctioned for the tshirt of the bison fellatied "sp?" By the Indian figure.
Using this argument to try and denounce staying "North Dakota" is just flat out false. A lie.
NCAA can not by the agreement or settlement or legally in any way sanction a University athletic program based on spectators free speech.
-
The argument that this new info is a blow to the no nickname crowd is bogus.
The NCAA says sanctions can be placed if fans continue to use the old SIOUX name?????!!!!!
Guess what, fans are still going to use Fighting Sioux and wear the logo..... even if our new logo was a couple of fighting hawks protected by roughriders while sundogging under the North star.
So NCAA is REALLY saying is if anyone complains......read this will happen immediately. .......UND will face sanctions unless the old logo is banned and use of the word is forbidden.
Good luck with that NCAA.....

These late departures have to be a little troubling.
I heard through the grapevine that we may not be totally out of the woods yet either.
Way to ruin a weekend......
Out of the woods as in UFA signing or recruit not showing up this fall and being found in the CHL
-
Notsomuch hockey related but,
TJ Oshie getting married this weekend.
Rocco Grimaldi got engaged as well
Congrats and hope they have a Siouxper time
-
......need to ad an. ......"Of the Nooorth!"...on the end of that , Like the Acme electric radio ads.... but maybe we can differentiate by calling ourselves the University of North Dakota Northern North Stars!

Also Commie......
Not sure if he officially "retired" but I'd say it may be the end of pro hockey for our gingerfro'ed Favorite.
-
A few alums still unsigned.
D. Zajac
Chris Porter
Brock Nelson
-Nelson rejected his Qualifying Offer from the Isles, but he has no arbitration rights, hopefully another team gives an offer sheet.

Interesting read on the B1G (it was mainly about Minnesota).
Irrational rationalizing of data can bring even the most wretched gutter drunk B1G rube a glint of hope, I guess.

Either way he will play his home games in front of a bunch of UND fans...
Internet Winner Post of July.

The 87 Fighting Sioux team had the best rocord i thought, 40-8-1
They had most wins in a season I thought.

The people loaning and crying and whining about Toews not bring the Stanley Cup to GF and laying it at their feet as he genuflects to their hockey wisdom are just absurd.
Toews owes you nothing, it makes Sioux fans look terrible.
I am referencing the facebook comments I've seen today.......

Still trying to forget that waste of space. Thanks for the reminder.
Just a reminder but I believe the guy played a few more NHL games than you or I.
I'd say "Waste of Space" is a little harsh.

The word I hear I'd that he wants to keep his family life more stable than moving again and again. He had a quote today that seemed to reinforce that. I wouldn't be so sure he's looking to move anywhere. Family is a powerful thing and can keep you from moving if it adversely affects them.
I'd think Mankato to St. Paul would be a palpable move for the Hastings clan.

Three schools are interested in Casey DeSmith, one is Wisconsin.
Jeff Cox @JeffCoxSports 12m12 minutes ago
Re: DeSmith, 3 schools allegedly interested in former UNH netminder. He is awaiting potential waver from NCAA to be able to play right away.
I could see UND looking at him.
I don't see a fit here but, if he can get a waiver this has Wisconsin all over it.....they are desperate for a tendy

Then he blew it bad yesterday:
Kessel to PIT
Martin to SJS
Waaaay to early in their careers...those are the type of players Fletcher will land on their clumsy exit from the league on 1 or 2 year deals in the future
