Fair immediate concerns, but there’s so much more (agree with your development concerns, as per post below). Thing is, it isn’t all tangible or material, but rather some priorities should be in the details. EXAMPLE: The quality of marketing and fundraising. The quality of the game-day experience, video productions, etc. That requires a complete buy-in by UND athletics as a whole. AND… development, development, development. Requires great teaching.

Yeah, but the UND Champions Club and Alumni Foundation aren’t sending that message. Thus, the point: the marketing and fundraising efforts for UND football are subpar.

Let’s see how it plays out. Definitely an opportunity to get a couple good kids, but the nucleus will need to be developed (or at least development key if und takes the next step). Too often the kids that go through this program, after 5 years, still aren’t strong, fast and mean enough to create a championship team.

UND just not a great destination for these portal kids. Need to do better recruiting locally and developing. More and more, starting to think strength and conditioning the major issue. But also, the body types you start with (the recruits) is key.

That play hurt a lot, but what if Schuster doesn’t throw that critical interception to NDSU’s Dawson Weber? What if UND converts the late 4th down instead of getting stopped? Million plays (figuratively) that they could have done better on and it could have led to a win. The game is not won or lost on a single play. It’s what makes it a beautiful team game.

Not for that particular game, but I can imagine the probability dropped after the fumble. My point is just that if UND played a better game in the first 3 quarters, it would not have been so critical that UND play a perfect 4th quarter. We all know UND has struggled playing complete games on the road.

But does it? Comes down to playing better team football the entire game. Not a difficult concept. Future actions are dictated by past actions … so what if the past actions are better? Then there will be better (e.g., perhaps no fumbling) future actions.

You’re broken with your backlash. UND already is irrelevant when it comes to top tier FCS programs. They’ve won one division one playoff game in the last 15 years. Sick of them not getting a nationally televised football game yet. It’s not good enough right now. And you’re completely incorrect - it’s unlikely UND is going to “suck” or get much worse by ”canning” this all-star coaching staff, but I digress. South Dakota State argument is the broken record; keeping a coach for 26 years is definitely not the standard/norm around the country, but yet only South Dakota State (that’s never won a championship, maybe will finally get one this year) has it figured out?

If UND plays better before the fumble, perhaps that situation never occurs. Did the fumble hurt? Of course. That’s what that the “win probability graph” shows, but it goes beyond just one single play. It calculates the cumulative effect of all plays up to that point. Football is a 60 minute team game. Probably biggest team game of them all.

Remember, biggest fallacy in football is that a single play loses or wins a game. You probably don’t remember it, but look at all the mistakes UND made prior to Otis fumble, and afterwards. It’s a 60 minute ball game. Need better effort from A to Z.

Yep, players win games, coaches can lose them, though. Many many times, the coaching at UND has led to loses against teams that they should beat, even with their current inadequate talent level. That’s on the coaching staff. UND’s coaches certainly don’t walk on water - there’s deficiencies, embrace it. Need better players too, though, but coaches are the recruiters, ya know?

All in all, NDSU was the better team, sucks cause it was close, but NDSU still good enough to get to Frisco. Sickening. Disgusting. All words to express displeasure.

No, you missed by point. I am not criticizing a group based on a physical attribute, rather referring to that group using that term. The reason they are being criticized is completely independent of their physical attributes. I was not the first one on this forum to use that term, by the way, I just carried it forward.

Gonna be tough. Nebraska has a sizeable NIL package as well; actually, one of the best in the country.

Once again, assumptions of my personal accomplishments and resume are the focus of your post. I’m unaware of what I’m unaware, apparently. Unknown unknowns. Okay, Donald Rumsfeld. Ridiculous. I’m not going there… again. This isn’t about me or any individual person, other than maybe those employed by UND. Furthermore, there are several issues, and conservatism and stagnancy is part of it. Using the term “gray hairs”, which I just carried forward on this forum, apparently upset you. Don’t excessively focus on that. No individual (other than maybe coaches) is being singled out (or at least I’m not doing that, you are though). This is an overall group/institution issue, and there’s no easy fixes given the hole, but ultimately there are fixes.

There’s always exceptions, but as a whole, the “gray hairs” aren’t doing enough. So, yes, fair criticism is warranted. By fair, I mean UND’s lack of compete ascension is certainly not entirely due to the gray hairs. There’s internal misdirection to thank for some of the issues.
