Can’t be any worse than last season’s dumpster fire
-
In February? Why not December? Interesting timing, that’s for sure.
-
Yeah, the whole situation is a bum-situation.

No, but with poor coaching to begin with, and no one fired in December, but instead one leaves to rival and the other resigns in February: bottomline it’s not ideal.
-
I agree. Not ideal timing, so it’s not a great situation. Losing two coaches in February is concerning.
-
Bum. Program should step up the payroll and make a splash.
-
The latter, so not quite as exciting, but still provides tempered hope.
-
Kudos to the program and leadership finally “getting it”. Coaching matters. Don’t do your job, you lose it.
-
UND is to NDSU what SIU/WIU is to UND. Not a good position at all.
-
UND football is the greatest program in the history of all great programs. It is spectacular. Just so great.
-
The reality is UND football is poorly funded, compared to the only two decent programs in their conference.
-
Sad times
-
SU is able to poach because UND football is clearly funded second-rate.
-
UND’s lack of emphasis on football again raises questions. Raise the damn salary pool and f*ck the hockey only approach (beyond idiotic approach), or just go the UNO route and drop football. This b*llshit cutting corners approach to DI athletics won’t work (and hasn’t worked).

Man, after reading all of this, all I’m going to say is the University of North Dakota Athletics Department has some major issues to deal with (and it’s certainly not all related to coaching) … not looking good.
-
This sounds petty, but ok.
-
There’s no question that the athletic department - REA mess is a detriment to UND football and basketball. Failure to recognize this is concerning, just as much as the inability to rectify it. Funding certainly needs to improve, but so does prioritization. They go hand in hand, though, of course. Lastly, I think there’s a lack of perspective amongst folks who advocate that UND continue on their current course; that and/or alternative agendas.
-
There’s no guarantee a slow deliberate painful process will work either. In fact, you could argue it normally doesn’t. It’s ultra-conservatism and cowardly. Oh well, 7 close victories against mid-tier teams should be fun … again.
-
I think the Big Sky Conference is overrated and NAU is a bad football program/team.
-
I’m trying to incite conversation on here as well as intrigue. That is all. Move along. With that said, if UND has to go 2-1, beating Boise State and losing to NAU would be the way to go. Of course, 3-0 is preferred.

Because it’s true, that’s why it’s familiar. It’s been occurring right in front of everybody’s own eyes for years.
