  1. Hockey doesn't have "big boys" because it's not a popular collegiate sport relative to football, basketball, and even baseball. Also, our team gets to compete against an FBS team nearly season, along with playing top 10 FCS teams which are often just as good as half the FBS teams.
  2. The past two seasons the program has been able to produce a complete set of uniforms; why would they not be able to only afford jerseys for this season? As far as the popular opinion, Bubba stated that he has heard from many alumni and former players that they want green jerseys. He himself also stated, on the live chat held during national signing day, that he wants green home jerseys. Also, just because there are only 20 willing donors on this site, that doesn't mean it's a minority opinion. It simply means that there is a limited amount of people willing to make a monetary donation. Also, it is my understanding that they replied to Ira and said they are looking into alternative fundraising options. Not that they don't want to raise anything.
  3. You certainly are in the minority. Let me try to convince you otherwise. UND has wore green home jerseys for the vast majority of the football program's existence. Nearly every spectacular and historic moment of UND football is associated with Kelly green jerseys (e.g., 2001 National Championship, finally defeating NDSU in 1993, last Nickel Trophy game, etc.). Also, as Bubba recently said, Green and White are our school colors - we should be wearing them! Ultimately, the new coaching staff believes we should be wearing green jerseys at home and I agree with that. The proposed plan was to raise enough funds for a new uniform set and helmets, possibly green jerseys, green pants, and black helmet, or something along those lines. The way I look at it, the helmet and pants portion is just extra. The bottom line is we need new green jerseys that match the same style as the black and white jerseys. They need to be tight fit like the new black and white jerseys - not extremely loose and old-fashion like the current green jerseys (which we didn't wear once last season because the players hate them!). If we can somehow get new pants and helmets, that's great! But I really just want new green jerseys! Match them up with white pants and our green helmets and we would be fine! Plus we have black pants/black jerseys for alternates. I think the black pants/white jersey combo should be for the road and the green jersey/white pants combo should be for home. Let's get these green jerseys ordered!! Go Sioux!
  4. I'm going to revisit this ridiculous topic again only in minor detail. In my opinion, the game not being played annually is nothing more than complete childish behavior on the part of Gene Taylor. There also is a sense of entitlement and arrogance in Fargo that prevents it from getting done. If/when NDSU sinks back down to mediocrity over the next few years, the game will hopefully look more appealing to Ag School AD employees. Otherwise, the focus will need to be on us (UND). NDSU-topics are the only school-related topics that spark debate with the UND-faithful other than UND-centered topics themselves (realistically, other "rival schools", such as Montana and Montana State, haven't got there yet). If that in itself doesn't persuade individuals that the rivalry is a sleeping giant, then I don't know what will. As far as Kolpack goes, he's nothing more than an NDSU die-hard in the Fargo media. There's absolutely zero neutrality with him. Nearly ANY student currently at NDSU from North Dakota would know about the [former] UND-NDSU rivalry and the Nickel Trophy. As a North Dakota resident, I know the rivalry talk still goes on strong within the state, and I presume most 18-22 year old North Dakota kids are also well informed of the rivalry.
  5. You still have to throw the ball some! Have you watched the Minnesota Vikings lately? Anyway, we will be emphasizing the run moving forward, and I agree that is winning football. Having Cedric Simmons (who is 215 lbs) and Sharp (should be around 190 to 200 lbs) will go a long way; however, as Bubba said during his last press conference, we will be aggressively searching for a downhill FBS transfer running back. Add an FBS transfer at 200 lbs + into the mix, and we would have a nice backfield to get the job done.
  6. Carr will likely see more playing time than Ivery and Bridges. Freund is high on Carr and he almost had his redshirt pulled last year even with Hardin, Jackson, and Golladay on the roster.
  7. As far as offensive line, the only lock I see is Brandon Anderson at left guard. Walker should be slated at center, but you never know. He'll have competition. Look for Dan Bell to lock up a spot. As far as skill positions, WR will include McGill, Young, Carr, and Bridges. Simmons will likely will start at RB, with Sharp spelling him. Sounds like Sharp will overtake Garman, Sparks, and Shaugabay on the depth chart due to raw ability. As UNDColorado eluded to though, an FBS transfer to both the WR and RB groups would be preferable.
  8. Bubba is indifferent I'm sure, but the OC Rudolph will use both blocking schemes according to the live chat that was held on national signing day. Rudolph's system sounds to be a textbook multiple offense with an emphasis on running the ball and controlling time of possession.
  9. Absolutely. Need to get two big home wins this weekend.
  10. Weber is on a 19-2 run!!! That's pathetic!!!
  11. That flip flop crap wont happen - I can guarantee it. The better QB in fall camp will start the season and it will be his job to lose. There's gonna be a whole new offense with Coach Rudolph, so either one of them (Bartels or Mollberg) could come out on top. It really will be like last fall all over again - true competition where either QB could win the job! If I had to speculate who will win it, I would go with Mollberg. Rudolphs want to run the ball via multiple formations; that means 22 and 21 personnel that features downhill power plays and shotgun/pistol formations that include read option plays. Ultimately, that best fits the athletic ability and big, strong frame of Mollberg. Of course, most predicted Mollberg would win last fall and it didn't happen, so this really could go either way still. Will be a fun competition to watch, and the multiple formation running game that Rudolph is implementing will help out the team tremendously!
  12. The thing is, if I don't believe a regime can bring us an FCS National Championship, I won't be happy. The staff hasn't even been in place for a month and already some are trying to say we won't fare any better than we did with Mussman? That's ridiculous and, quite frankly, unnecessarily stomps the hype and excitement that makes supporting the University of North Dakota so exciting. I want to cheer and support this team on to Frisco (or wherever the NC is played) and there doesn't need to be negative interjection right now. I WANT to believe this staff will give us a NC, and right now I have no reason to believe that won't happen - can't it remain like that until at least this fall?
  13. Just like how this class was only going to have only 15 commits and be a disaster? So when we exceed those expectations now and receive nearly 30 commits, we have to start a new form of pessimism? How ridiculous. If Mussman and his staff had one month to recruit, they'd be lucky to have 10 commits worth a d*mn. The last part of Miller's article pisses me off. He states: "However, no amount of highlight videos and high school accolades and statistics released today can tell us if the Bubba era will be any stronger than the Mussman era in the long run." Although I agree a recruiting class should only be judged a few years down the road, why make the statement that Bubba's era may be no better than Mussman's? If the Bubba era is no better, that implies we'll suffer 5 more years of losing. H*ll with that!! First off, our OC and DC have head coaching and FCS experience, respectively. Next, we have considerable FCS/FBS experience with the position coaches of the staff. I like where this is headed. Of course, in all reality, the real evaluation will come this fall when the games are played, and we need to be patient considering the youth of the roster. W-L record should not be the indicator this season, but rather competitiveness and discipline.
  14. Perhaps later this evening. I can add any new commitments we receive today that aren't presently on there.

  16. C'mon - that's not a Michigan thing, that's particular to each individual. Michigan is relatively close, is considered Midwest, and is loaded with talent. To leave that state after this recruiting class would be downright foolish.
  17. Very impressive group of recruits. Given the numbers and simple probability, you would at least expect some of these recruits to pan out. Really impressed by Bubba's first mark on the program as head coach. Now we just have to see if the team responds this fall and if Bubba & his staff can coach as well as they can recruit.
  18. The chat on undsports.com with the coaches was very insightful. Hopefully the athletic department is still doing that.
  19. Definitely hoping for this. Would be a great way to get to know the new coaching staff and their philosophies.
  20. Pound the rock! Seeing Dustin Iverson lead the way for 215 lbs Simmons will be fun to watch! defense and a running game wins championships
  21. That's great! Along with PJ Sparks, Adam Shaugabay, and Patrick Sharp, we should have a nice stable of backs for next season! Also, we may still have a RB commit we won't know about until tomorrow.
  22. Under Bubba's tutelage, I think it's quite safe to say we're going to see a Javen Butler we've never seen before. Apart of that may simply be maturity as he will be a junior next season, but he has the tools to be an all-conference performer, so I hope he can put it all together and do some big things for UND next fall!
  23. Possible we may hear a few commitments tomorrow for the first time; particularly recruits from Miami and St. Louis.
  24. Ezra deciding on UNI hurts. Oh well; we'll move on and do big things with or without him.
  25. Now that's my kind of RB! Hopefully it's true and he commits! http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1649197/highlights/105130375?autoplay=1 Go Sioux!
