  1. He can definitely play some football! Probably would play linebacker. Would love to see him in green! http://www.hudl.com/athlete/597372/highlights/103884375?autoplay=1 Go Sioux!
  2. DE Dranka is an athletic defensive play-maker that can get after the QB from the DE spot - something that the defense has been missing in recent years. Bubba prides himself on those "attack" type players! At 235 lbs, I think he can stay at DE if he bulks up to around 250 lbs. Great addition to a steadily improving defense! Go Sioux!
  3. No, but I feel very confident that both have enjoyed themselves during their visit thus far and by Feb. 5, they will hopefully be official commitments.
  4. Although this class is shaping up a bit better than I anticipated, I did believe that Bubba and crew would recruit a pretty respectable class. Some people on this forum thought the class would be an absolute disaster - so much for optimism and confidence....
  5. I believe the two Michigan recruits (WR Walker and CB Carter) are now both verbal commitments. Great additions! Go Sioux!
  6. From what I've heard, I can only imagine its A+++
  7. I agree it will be difficult for UND to convince him to commit to UND over NDSU, but to be able to even convince him to come to GF tells me two things: 1) We will go after anyone who is a good athlete, student, and person, regardless of NDSU's interests. I love that mindset from Bubba & staff. 2) The message that Bubba is sending to the recruits is sincere yet convincing. It provokes both pride and curiosity, which is something UND was missing with the previous regime.
  8. Sounds good for UND. I think UND needs to get at least 2 running backs in this class due to the current depth and the new offensive emphasis of running the ball. Right now we don't have a RB verbal commitment, but there are plenty of good RBs in Minnesota that we are recruiting, so I think it will get done. Of course, this makes offensive line also a priority. Would be nice to get a commitment from Trey Pipkins out of Apple Valley.
  9. I agree - we absolutely were too conservative, in both recruiting and leadership. That's why NDSU won over all local talent (both North Dakota and Minnesota) and UND was getting blown out at home.
  10. RB Anthony Anderson is receiving interest from UND and is a big back (6' 2" 230 lbs). He would be a nice physical back to obtain for our newfound power running game. http://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Anthony-Anderson-155970 http://www.hudl.com/...3377?autoplay=1 Another player to look out for too is LB Matthew Seitz out of Wisconsin. He has a PWO from PAC-12 Cal so he might be tough to get. http://www.hudl.com/...4/matthew-seitz http://sports.yahoo....tt-Seitz-142690
  11. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Logan-Plantz-144481 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/378877/logan-plantz Offensive lineman Logan Plantz out of Illinois is receiving interest from UND. Has very impressive highlights - would be a good get!
  12. Good win. How do the Big Sky standings look now?
  13. Okay, so the proposal is green jerseys and pants along with new helmets, either white or black? Or simply new green jerseys? Obviously the entire new uniform combo would be preferable. Would give us: Pants: Green, White, and Black Jersey: Green, White, and Black Helmet: Green, and Black or White Certainly would be appealing to recruits and fans!
  14. This new coaching staff brings a lot of enthusiasm and experience that the previous regime was missing. I've also heard it sits well with coaches and recruits. This weekend is big for the program, considering the amount of talented recruits visiting. By Sunday, there should be an impressive rate of commitments flying in! Go Sioux!
  15. North Dakota State is the biggest rival, but they're in a different conference so we don't play them anymore in the regular season. Hopefully that will change for this years incoming class down the road. In conference, the rivals would technically be Montana and Montana State I suppose.
  16. Long line of former LB greats but that position has been lacking for the last couple seasons. Coach Bubba is already starting to improve that position though, and like Geaux_Sioux said, there are good freshmen on the roster.
  17. I'd like to think this will get done. Unlike the past two seasons, less helmets and no pants need to be purchased, just jerseys. Let's get that Kelley Green back!
  18. Considering the new (and impressive I might add) makeup of UND's coaching staff, an interesting OOC game I'd like to see get scheduled would be a home and home with Southern Illinois. Wonder if the future schedules have some open dates to work with?
  19. That's incorrect. I said there would be a "JV" division in hockey if it were nationally popular; I didn't say that UND would be in that division. Given UND's hockey facilities, alumni, and tradition, they have and will always be a top 5 hockey program nationally. Look at Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota - all are big Big 10 schools yet they are all lesser or equal to UND's hockey program. Size and/or popularity can not negatively affect UND's hockey program, so get use to it. Buck the Fison.
  20. Thank you for the insight. I'm looking forward to seeing him play in the spring game.
  21. I'd say all signs thus far indicate Bubba & his staff are doing one heck of a job. We're finally in good hands! Go Sioux!
  22. The term "JV" is intentionally derogatory in the present context; therefore, it simply shouldn't be used. I don't support it's use when explaining FCS football. Perhaps if collegiate hockey was actually popular on a national level, then there would be a "JV" level for collegiate hockey as well.
  23. You bring up a very good point, and well, I agree. If UND football can get on the national stage, which would require both an FBS upset and a FCS national championship, it would likely surpass hockey as the most popular UND sport. Football simply has a greater following, even in North Dakota.
  24. Thank goodness
  25. Actually I was being complimentary by saying he's a 2 star recruit. I don't put a lot of stock in recruiting websites; they're wrong as often as they're right. I sure hope Chris Carter enjoys UND and Grand Forks on his visit. He's a darn good looking football player and would be a great addition to this year's recruiting class. Go Sioux!
