  1. Bubba had success at DII UND, just like Mussman; but unlike Mussman, Bubba has prior head coaching experience and prior FCS coaching experience. Those experiences all make Bubba a more valuable coach than Mussman in terms of financial worth, IMO.
  2. Umm, they lose a 4-year starting QB that has won the most games in FCS history - that in my opinion is talent lost. Not only that, they lose Billy Turner (NFL), Ryan Smith (CFL), Marcus Williams (NFL), and Bryan Shepherd (NFL), just to name a few that went on to play professionally. They will be down talent.
  3. Wrong. Minnesota has been much more competitive of late with Jerry Kill. Also, NDSU lost a considerable amount of talent in their last graduating class; tough to replace that automatically. Minnesota will improve or at least stay competitive; NDSU will decline. These two things I am certain of; therefore, you're wrong.
  4. How can you be certain it will take a few years? Many new coaching staffs in college football around the country have changed the culture in a program quite rapidly; who says that couldn't happen with Bubba at UND? Examples include Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Gus Malzahn, and even Craig Bohl etc.
  5. Eastern Washington returns nearly all of their key contributors, whereas NDSU certainly does not. Therein lies the difference.
  6. Bubba makes nearly 35K more than Mussman did and the coaching salary pool (including head coach and assistants) went from 7th in the Big Sky to now 4th. The salary pool increase was much needed.

Mollberg was a bit rocky last season, but so was the entire team due to poor scheme, philosophy, and coaching. Ultimately, I would like to think Mollberg will be much improved this year after gaining valuable experience as a starter and now operating an offense that actually utilizes a hard-nosed running attack and play-action game. He needs to improve upon his 2013 touchdown-to-interception ratio if UND is to make it to 0.500

Mussman was an idiot both on and off the field. Bubba appears to be light-years ahead of Mussman in terms of common sense and off-the-field communication/leadership. Now only time will tell if Bubba is competent on the field.

Full pads definitely show more true, that is for sure. Nevertheless, I think live scrimmages are the best way to know how a player will perform before actual games are played.

I had a chance to take in practice too. I'd say Walker is ahead of Ferguson and Walker has a good chance of getting his shirt pulled. With that said, Casey Young and RJ McGill both made plays and look good. Alex Tillman and Cedric Simmons look the part; I expect both to contribute big time this season. Chris Carter will likely get his shirt pulled; he puts forth great effort. Hinojosa is the real deal; he has a heck of a motor and bullrush. Lastly, I'd say the quarterbacks didn't look impressive but Mollberg looked the best. The running game should help them out immensely in a real game situation.
  11. Recruits would run the other direction…
  12. We don't obsess at all. Often times our conversations our diverted because of NDSU trolls, like yourself, and their unnecessary comments. And you're not fooling anyone; you're coming on this site looking to stir things up, not check-out UND recruiting. It's ironic that you say we're obsessive, yet you're the NDSU troll commenting on a UND site. Isn't that strange?
  13. UND football has never wore pink and they never should. Yes its a school color but no part of pink screams "hard-nosed" football. Perhaps for breast cancer awareness month it can be incorporated via accessories (armbands, gloves, socks, etc.)
  14. Couldn't agree more! Physical, hard-nosed, disciplined football is coming back to UND, and that means wins and respect! As far as uniforms go, I agree that UND should wear green at home and white on the road. I also agree that wearing black once a year or so at home for "hype" reasons is just fine - it's done around the country. Now, the only thing left to accomplish is to acquire quality green jerseys; the ones UND has now will not cut it.
  15. If UND signs a deal with Adidas, UND won't be able to wear their current Nike black and white uniforms; they would need to wear what Adidas designs them.
  16. The current ones? They're some of the best - they are based off of the Blackhawks uniforms. Don't tough the hockey uniforms, please.
  17. It appears Jace Hellman may get a shot at center, making the potential starting o-line look something like: LT Devin Barton LG Brandon Anderson C Jace Hellman RG Ben Henson RT Sean Meehan Of course, JUCO transfer Colton Boas may crack the lineup at center or right guard once he gets more familiar with the offense.
  18. Bubba does not own North Dakota you moron. NDSU is benefiting from Craig Bohl's success; that could very much change over the next few years.
  19. It had seemed he would choose UND but I guess that changed. Cavalier's pipeline to UND has faded in recent years. Last player was Brady Trenbeath and since then they've all gone to NDSU.
  20. I agree NDSU will fall and UND will rise; as a result, someday (hopefully soon) we'll be on the same level again. And hoping Iowa State beats NDSU is realistic in my opinion. It's in Ames and NDSU will have new starters at several positions.

Fall Camp - Day 1 Countdown to #Bubbaball and San Jose State begins! http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209604068 Expectations aren't high, but I'd sure like to expect 5-7 or 6-6. I think Bubba and his staff have done great thus far given the situation they were put in.
  23. Good luck with your "untouchable" program going forward.
  24. KU was an ugly 6-3 game that easily could've gone the Jayhawks way. NDSU required a final drive to win against Kansas State; without Brock Jenson, Billy Turner, Ryan Smith etc., that drive wouldn't have worked out. NDSU has a first year starting QB this year and yet you are confident NDSU will roll over ISU? That I'm afraid is ignorance. Plus, you won't see near the playoff success. NDSU will likely make the postseason, but they'll be lucky to win more than a game there.
  25. Albeit DII national championships. I was simply stating that NDSU needs to tread lightly when discussing their FCS football success because of the limited sample size, along with only having one DI head coach in their history (that's actually led them in games). I liken 2011-2013 NDSU to 2005-2007 Appalachian State. Although Appalachian State had success after their national championship runs, they never did make it back to the national championship game. I think the departure of Bohl and the senior class (including B. Jenson, M. Williams, B. Turner, etc.) will be too much for NDSU. They will likely continue to have 10+ win seasons for the next few seasons, but can they have playoff success? I think the target on their back is too big and they won't.
