Is that actually someone's name or a reference to a graduate of some school?! Also, when is the app deadline?!
-
Is there more to Muss' firing than UND is reporting? If not, what the hell would that have to do with this situation?!
-
Ya, well, that is also family. I can't imagine someone who would want to come in and be the face of the program but not the real HC. That's fake to me, and I for one would never want NDSU to have some pseudo-HC just, well, because he has a big name and or was in the NFL. That, my friend, ain't what wins football games. See Kiffen family above!!
-
In the vast majority of cases. they stay on to help stay in touch with recruits and provide them with answers to their questions, in addition to being involved with off-season work of existing team. That's part of their contract. When new HC comes in, s/he ( ) decides which, if any, stay. Doubt there will be any/

OC's and DC's from BCS/FBS teams certainly should be looked at!! Foolish not too, especially if they show interest in UND. No, that last part is not smack--didn't mean it that way at all. What exactly has BB done that you all feel warrants him being a HC at this level?!?! And Sic, having a "shadow" HC with Brooks as the "named" HC so that he can be "the face of UND" football?!?! C'mon man. That is -- I hate to say it -- kinda UNDish. This is about winning football games, not beauty pageants. Hell, look at Bohl (or don't)<--he ain't much to look at, but his product is. Jussayin'!!

A defensive-minded coach would be a very good start in the BSC. Couple that with ball control rather than "high-flying" and you have a recipe for success in the BSC. Look what SHSU has done to the BSC the last few years in the playoffs.
-
Good post tho!!
-
As an NDSU fan, I am too then, because I do not think that is the right choice--not even close, and I doubt he even applies or has his agent contact UND. But, hey, hire BB if you can, just don't say I didn't tell you so when it's all said and done. There are many coaches out there better than him. He might get there someday, but it aint today!! But again, I think you guys should get a BB campaign going and be sure Faison hears/knows of it!!

Three words: Rocky Hager!!
-
Yep, makes that makes sense!! Good luck to Muss and staff. Nice enough guy(s), just in over his/their head(s).

??!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!!?? What does this mean?! Is there more going on than peeps know of?! Makes it sound like he is relieved it is over and wanted out?! Thoughts?!?
-
Will there even be a presser if Muss is not going to be fired? What would Faison say: "After full consideration, I have decided to honor the existing contract between UND and Muss, and Muss will be coaching UND football team next year"?? That messege alone might be enough to scare recruits off, given future uncertainty.
-
I'm not trying to stir the pot here. I thought I recalled hearing that, but could very well be wrong. What are your thoughts?! Should the firing have already happened this morning or yesterday, or is it best to wait?! Mine?! IF the move is going to be made, it needs to and should happen NOW!!
-
IDK, but the silence is a bit deafening. While there is never a good time to fire a coach, this might be the best time for UND to do so. Plenty of time to get new HC and staff in, transition the recruiting "folders" to new staff and let them get out on the road and meet with recruits. The longer it takes to fire Muss, the worse it will be for UND football. Not sure what is going to happen, but a decision needs to be made by Faison immediately. Perhaps the fact that no presser has been called means the decision was or had already been made prior to SUU game. Did I not hear somewhere that Faison stated that Muss would be back next year? I thought I heard that a week or so back.
-
Meh, why would you want him?!
-
@Bold: Got love the source of that "fact". Hey, have you checked out the number of "on-line" vs. "on-campus" students UND has compared to NDSU?
-
Well, if it makes you feel any better, you did contribute the firing of Valpo's coach: http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2013-11-10/valparaiso-fires-head-coach-carlson-had-3-40-record-fourth-season Also, if I were Faison, I would be aiming toward this guy: http://www.ferrisstatebulldogs.com/sports/fball/coaches/Annese_Tony

That's what I was referring to when I posted that you could start doing, or at least attempting to do, this right now, and see where it takes you the rest of the season. The plays are in the playbook, we know that, it's just a matter of committing to that philosophy and staying patient. Yes, Wofford was certainly one-dimensional, and those that weren't we forced them to be (think SDSU/Zenner), with the exception of Georgia Southern. I think GSU was a better team than Sam Houston last year. That all said, didn't mean to mess up your recruiting thread. Good luck with recruiting and in the rest of your games this year!!
-
I believe UND could at least attempt to get back to old style of play with what you have right now. It may not win you a bunch of more games, but slowing the game down in Big Sky play would, IMO, keep you in more games and allow you a chance to win toward the end, as opposed to lopsided margins. The 3 Bigs in the BSC, I don't believe, are overly patient, and might just get frustrated-->leading to mistakes. Not being a dink, couldn't be worse than what is happening now. Well, if Lakes is doing this stuff, and if he is still reading this Forum, then he needs to real things in a bit it sounds like.

I'm very pumped about Stick (offense), but also Menard (defense--I could throw in a slam about defense here but I won't). The thing is, I feel pretty good about our current QB's especially Wentz for the next couple of years. Talking seriously here now, I really thought UND was going to be very competitive in the Big Sky this year. That didn't/hasn't happened, but it can in the future. My position is that UND needs to get back to its old ways of power football, with controlled passing, and controlling the LOS on both sides of the ball. Those things are huge at this level, and something I don't think the major players in the Big Sky can manage. I think UND should go after a coach with this type of philosophy, as it only takes a year or two to get rolling.
-
It hurts, doesn't it?!?!? I think UND should be focused on their/its own recruiting from what I saw when attending Montana game!!!
-
You may want to hold off on the employer thing--tortious interference with contractual/employment rellationship viable legal claim afterall. Also, what has he done that may be a NCAA violation. Do you even know what he asked the guy? And, as for the comment that "this has been going on for to long at the AC", facts or it didn't and hasn't happened. Menard commit hurt a bit?!
-
Wasn't even close to the end of the game, and was a called play, not a short pass play involving numerous missed tackles and assignments. Nice try tho!!
-
He could do it pro-bono if he wanted, but I doubt Bruce is doing so. NCAA won't even look at that issue, because it isn't an issue. The NCAA has major nickname issues to deal with-->remember?!?!?
-
"Coach Craig Bohl has said the players could face team discipline but not suspensions." This refers to his earlier comment after the Colorado State Game-->just sayin!! Additional information to come from Bohl later today on relative to guilty pleas!!
