Well, in a sense, he was driving a UND vehicle, as it was a sponsor car from Rydell. Also, he refused BAC testing, which normally results in a one year suspension absent doing some things to cure the refusal, but it doesn't appear he did those things.

If Faison really meant that UND is conducting a national search, he/UND have to give Phlu a serious look IMO. This is a very critical time for UND FB, and he has what it takes, at least from an offensive standpoint. Plus, you know he must have connections with a good, defensive-minded coach or two that he could bring in as a DC. That combination would be a recipe for success in the BSC and PO's.

So, u are predicting an SU win over Furman! If so, ya, I will be there on the 14th. Back to VB. Is there anyone on current staff who will be considered? Anyone that the girls trust who has the ability. If so, that is the route I would go--continuity.

No it's not, but it is the best we could do at the time and now, and we/SU have to make the best of it. What else can we do? BSC did not want us back when. Actually tho, I think SU is better of in the MVFC in FB, but would be better off in the BSC in almost all other sports. Same might be true for UND, but not sure. It's one if those "in an ideal world/utopian" things I guess. Still wish we would have moved together-->and no dig meant or intended, just being real.

Good post, Bin--can't take issue with it. Here is the thing tho, and not isolated to either school, there is more to the story for many of these incidents and that is why each needs to be judged individually and on its own facts, rather than in a vacuum. Actually, that's applicable to life in general if you think about it. And, Media has a lot to do with blowing things out of proportion on a whim and without all the info/facts. Problem is, many run with that rather than conducting their own analysis. Now, go hire a good FB and VB coach--no dig intended or meant. Get it done.

Ok, we can keep doing this if you want. UND coach DUI--ahem... "Verbal warning". NDSU coach DUI--5 day suspension without pay. Goes both ways, like I Tried to say. But, whatever!!

I figured those were just assumed!! If you ever watch "When they were Kings" (I haven't yet) pay attention--if u want to--to what I said about the fans of SU and UND, Gist? Lighten up a bit on both sides. Heck, back in the day, FB players on both sides used to get together and go BB games together and go out together afterwards. The animosity was left for on the field. Still am friends with former UND players.

I want people to think outside the box and realize that UND is not perfect and your admins are not infallible. People make mistakes all the time and everywhere. You folks place all of SU's actions under a microscope and are judge and jury, but don't do the same "at home". U get on and judge every SU fan who supports or defends the actions/decisions of SU admins, but then are largely unwilling to scrutinize your own. I am just hoping that now, before you disparage all that is SU, you will pause and think before posting. I for one am not surprised this happened-->cuz this kinda stuff happens everywhere and now I hope you realize UND is not immune to it, despite its med school!!

@Point 1: So a verbal warning for coach DUI in Forks but suspension w/o pay in Fargo. If H had been suspended, the media would have likely picked up on that. Hmmmm!!?? @Point 2: I didn't say he was driving the team, but the chances are damn good he was/did. Also, he had to drive to a and from work, and I have a hard time believing he wasn't driving a sponso car. That ain't right. @Point 3: The Buck stops at F's desk, not some minions. Plus, you are assuming others AD staff knew of this-->remember it was a verbal reprimand(think quiet).

When a person goes to trial, there is never a finding by the jury or judge of "innocence". They are either found guilty or not guilty, with the latter meaning the state did not prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. IOW, a trier of fact is not given the choice to find someone "innocent", although to me that is what a "not guilty" finding in fact is. It's the media who try to blur that issue and or make some sort of distinction. Don't let them fool you.

Perhaps Faison is not duty-bouind to disclose what the media doesn't uncover, although I believe as the AD he should at least feel he should. Also, his actual handling of the DUI, in terms of ensuring Hardee did all that was necessary to get reinstated, and requiring hard proof from Hardee, is not defensible. He dropped the ball big time, and, resultantly, UND has had a HWVC driving illegally for a year and a half or so. It's like he didn't think it was a big deal, when in fact it was and is. Also, and I believe this firmly, had Gene Taylor done the same, both people here and the media would be all over it and asking a lot more questions than what are being asked now =>hypocrisy. As for the reprimand being in writing, Faison said Hardee was given a verbal warning" Can a verbal warning be "documented"? Absolutely, but was it? Keep in mind that Hardee received a contract extension shorty after getting the DUI. That doesn't pass the smell test of Faison being serious with the "verbal warning". Was it given with a "wink-wink" or something. Heck, Hardee would likely have not yet even accomplished obtaining a CD eval by the time of the extension. That can be found out ... you know .. if someone really wanted to check into it.

Ya, I knew about the hockey record and the reason for the conference move. Just a rub there by me. To otherwise respond, I guess last night I just felt like many hear were trying to justify things when, in reality, major (IMO) mistakes were made by Faison, and he made decisions/statements that would get hammered on by many here and the media had he been Gene Taylor. I just think many refuse to believe that every school and every player is capable of making mistakes, and, likewise, is not beyond criticism. Also, I was (and still am) sensing some major hypocrisy, and I think that is BS!! Lastly, I was kinda in a pissy mood last night, as I had both my knee and shoulder operated on last Wednesday, and my dang pain killers were not doing thier job for some reason beyond my ability to understand, and I was not about to take more than recomended. Consequently, I woke up and started meandering the interwebs, and you see the result of that. Then, people started accusing me of drunk posting, and I got even a bit more angry. Sometimes it's better if one's phone just goes dead at that point, but mine didn't. That said tho, I still hold many of the same thoughts I posted, but perhaps not in as angry a manner as I came across.

Yep, good ol' Faison stays right on top of things, doesn't he. So, Hardee as been driving under suspension for over a year and a half--wow!! Did Hardee get his contract extension in the Summer of 2012 before or after he got his DUI. Nice little reward for the DUI if after!! Do any of you know the timing. It would be interesting if he got the extension AFTer the DUI, don't you think?!

I haven't given that a great deal of thought, but I can tell you I wouldn't have tried to hide it like he did. If Faison claims transparency, then he should live it. Clearly he did not here, and got luck because the Beck thing was being hammered by everyone. Meanwhile, Faison just ducked his head and smiled because nobody was lucking at his programs. But, alas, he got caught. BTW, did you Prez sanction the verbal reprimand, or did he not know the DUI even happened?!

Yes Faison was involved in the Banner deal, don't run and hide. As for my post that you quoted, what about it is hypocritacal or indicative of butthurt. The gist of it, don't claim to be holier than thou and transparent, when in fact you are not, but rip on NDSu when you think it handled things wrongly. Pretty simple really.
